Bug#673122: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#673122: libnss-winbind: missing Replaces

I notice that I forgot to explain the reasons for which I did the
split: I have found admins at my workplace often confused by the fact
that libPAM- was needed to install libNSS- in
the case of winbind. So, seeing that some other person was advocating
for this has been the final convincing step (also seeing that we have
other libnss- packages in Debian, too).

Bug#673161: Starting mysqld in a chroot

2012-05-17 Thread Arnold Metselaar
Hi,

I was mistaken in my previous message. Generating a decent /etc/mtab with the
line

grep "${CHROOT_PATH}" /etc/mtab | sed -e "s:${CHROOT_PATH}/\?:/:"
>"${CHROOT_PATH}/etc/mtab"

in /etc/schroot/setup.d/99mini-buildd helped get rid of warnings from df,
but mysqld was trying to start without it as well.

Mysqld tries to bind to a port at start-up, and fails when another mysqld
outside the chroot is already
bound to that port. When mysqld is not running in the host machine, it starts
in a chroot just fine.
It should also work when mysqld in the host is listening on a non-standard port.

Regards,
Arnold

During rebuild of your package in a recent clean sid pbuilder, it has
failed to build from source.

I believe this is due to dh_builddeb switching to xz compression by
default (for udebs). I have a debdiff to resolve this problem (removing
override_dh_builddeb). If there is a good reason for using gzip
compression instead of the default, let me know.

Bug#666865: bug mail bounces

2012-05-17 Thread Stefan Fritsch
Hi,

I think the problem is that you can't match on the Sender or From
headers, because those remain unmodified for BTS mail. But BTS mail
seems to have

X-Loop: ow...@bugs.debian.org

and

X-Debian-PR-Source: name-of-source-package

Maybe you can match on either of those.

Cheers,
Stefan

Bug#666828: Apache2 2.4 transition postponed until after Wheezy

2012-05-17 Thread Stefan Fritsch
Hi,

we have decided to postpone the transition to apache2 2.4. The main blocker is
that mod_perl needs a major new upstream release which very likely won't be
ready in time for Wheezy and we don't want to release Wheezy without mod_perl.

The transition will probably happen shortly after the release of Wheezy. We are
sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Cheers,
Stefan

Bug#673359: udeb xz compression breaks glib2.0 build on mipsel

2012-05-17 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: debhelper
Version: 9.20120513
Severity: serious

Hi Joey,

as you can see at [1] glib2.0 FTBFS on mipsel while generating the udeb.
The error message is:

dh_builddeb -plibglib2.0-udeb
dpkg-deb: error: unknown option -S

Type dpkg-deb --help for help about manipulating *.deb files;
Type dpkg --help for help about installing and deinstalling packages.
dh_builddeb: dpkg-deb -z1 -Zxz -Sextreme --build debian/libglib2.0-udeb
../libglib2.0-udeb_2.32.3-1_mipsel.udeb returned exit code 2

I noticed that the dpkg version used on mipsel is 1.16.1.2 while the
other buildds used 1.16.2.

debhelper has a versioned depenends on dpkg-dev (>= 1.16.2). Maybe it
should also have a versioned dep on dpkg (>= 1.16.2)?

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#673165: mapserver: FTBFS with multiarch-ready libgd2

2012-05-17 Thread Steven Chamberlain
retitle 673165 mapserver: FTBFS with multiarch-ready libgd2
block 645105 by 673165
thanks

Hi,

This FTBFS (actually on all arches now?) because libgd2 since
2.0.36~rc1~dfsg-6.1 uses a multiarch path, where it is not seen by these
checks in configure.in:

>   for GD_DIR in /usr /usr/local
>   do
> test -f $GD_DIR/include/gd.h && GD_INCLUDE="$GD_DIR/include"
> test -f $GD_DIR/lib/libgd.a && GD_LIBDIR="$GD_DIR/lib"
> test -f $GD_DIR/lib64/libgd.a && GD_LIBDIR="$GD_DIR/lib64"
> test -f $GD_DIR/lib/libgd.so -o -f $GD_DIR/lib/libgd.sl -o -f
> $GD_DIR/lib/libgd.dylib && GD_LIBDIR="$GD_DIR/lib"
> test -f $GD_DIR/lib64/libgd.so -o -f $GD_DIR/lib/libgd.sl &&
> GD_LIBDIR="$GD_DIR/lib64"

The path can't be specified from debian/rules via --with-gd because the
includes and libraries must all be there. So the configure.in must be
modified in some way to look for the static+shared libs in the
appropriate (multiarch) path...

Bug#668954: policycoreutils: /usr/bin/sandbox "Invalid argument" error

2012-05-17 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: policycoreutils
Version: 2.1.10-6
Followup-For: Bug #668954

I checked the output of semodule -l and there's no sandbox policy module, and I
have no idea how to install it. Maybe it has something to do with this bug. I
still couldn't get sandbox to work.

Also, sometimes sandbox this error instead of "Invalid argument":
Could not set exec context to
unconfined_u:unconfined_r:sandbox_x_t:s0:c599,c830.
Failed to remove directory /tmp/.sandbox-root-rox12v: No such file or directory

This happened when I ran "sandbox -X evince" as root. When I run it as a normal
user it shows the "Invalid argument" error.

is fixed (because it brings in an undeclared build-dep on libssl-dev).

Cheers,

The above two go away once "-lssl -lcrypto" is removed from mysql_config
(#590905).

As for this one, the transition to multiarch triggered a misbehaving
regexp in cmake/modules/FindMySQL.cmake:

I'm not sure why this should be a blocker. myodbc in experimental is
already updated to work with mysql 5.5, so AFAIK it just needs a reupload?

The above is due to #590905:

checking for mysql_real_query... no
configure: error: Could not use the single thread MySQL client library,
please check config.log for errors
[...]
configure:11590: gcc -o conftest -I/usr/include/mysql -DBIG_JOINS=1

-lcrypto -ldl >&5
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lssl
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lcrypto

Once that's sorted out, another problem is that my_free() changed from
having two arguments in MySQL 5.1 to one argument in 5.5. This was
fixed in Connector/ODBC 5.1.9:

Cheers,

Matej

Not really. I mean that ghc Depends on !binutils-gold because its
configure script is too zealous in adopting features from the linker
it happens to be built against, but there's not any way to express
that in debian/control.

A proper long-term fix is probably to check the linker's functionality
at run time.

Bug#673340: psi-plus: FTBFS when building only architecture-dependent packages

2012-05-17 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: psi-plus
Version: 0.15.5329-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Builds of psi-plus (notably on the autobuilders) covering only its
architecture-dependent packages are failing:

  # Fix permissions
  chmod uog-x
/.../debian/psi-plus-skins/usr/share/psi-plus/skins/mac/native_mac/images/qcombobox.png
  chmod: cannot access
`/.../debian/psi-plus-skins/usr/share/psi-plus/skins/mac/native_mac/images/qcombobox.png':
 No such file or directory
  make[1]: *** [override_dh_install] Error 1

Could you please conditionalize the logic in debian/rules appropriately?
I'd also suggest switching it to make more use of relative paths, but
that's a matter of style.

Thanks!

I believe this is a reasonable request, but that playing with
severities is not the right way to bring it about. Could you please
make the appropriate hints (and consider whether this should be
wheezy-ignore while at it)?

Yes, mysql_config should definitely omit most everything except for

$ LANG=en_US locale -k LC_NUMERIC LC_MONETARY | grep -e decimal_point -e
thousands_sep

decimal_point="."
thousands_sep=","
mon_decimal_point="."
mon_thousands_sep=","

$ LANG=es_MX locale -k LC_NUMERIC LC_MONETARY | grep -e decimal_point -e
thousands_sep

decimal_point=","
thousands_sep="."
mon_decimal_point="."
mon_thousands_sep=","

This command has inverted the "." and the ","

I think that the problem is in /usr/share/i18n/locales/es_MX. It could have
missing the variables decimal_point and mon_thousands_sep

The en_US file does have this variables and es_MX does not.

$ grep -e decimal_point -e thousands_sep /usr/share/i18n/locales/es_MX
mon_decimal_point""
mon_thousands_sep""

$ grep -e decimal_point -e thousands_sep /usr/share/i18n/locales/en_US
mon_decimal_point   ""
mon_thousands_sep   ""
decimal_point   ""
thousands_sep   ""

Thanks for your support!

Bug#673331: backuppc: fix for CVE-2011-5081

2012-05-17 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Package: backuppc
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: grave
Tags: patch security
Justification: user security hole
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu quantal ubuntu-patch

Dear Maintainer,

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:
  * SECURITY UPDATE: XSS in CGI/RestoreFile.pm
- lib/BackupPC/CGI/RestoreFile.pm: update to escape share and backup
  number
- CVE-2011-5081

I developed the attached patch and forwarded it upstream. I have not
heard back yet, but the patch is obvious and works here. Thanks for
considering the patch.

Bug#673081: binutils-gold breaks ghc linking stage

its rather the upload that I want to avoid, not so much the change of
the linker (which should be just a configure flag). I’ll think about it.

I’m not sure if I agree with the seriousness of the bug. What can a
program expect from calling “ld”? Is there some standard that lists some
flags, and everything else makes a program policy non-compliant?

I’d rather like to be able to transition the current set of Haskell
packages to testing first and then, if there is time before the freeze,
tackle this bug. For that, the severity needs to be lowered, though, as
otherwise nothing will migrate.

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#283173: w3-dtd-mathml: .ent files not taken into account in the catalog system

2012-05-17 Thread Vincent Lefevre
/etc/xml/w3-dtd-mathml.xml contains:

http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/dtd/";
catalog="file:///usr/share/xml/schema/w3c/mathml/dtd/catalog.xml"/>

For the entities such as http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/dtd/isonum.ent
(whose system id starts with http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/dtd/),
that's the 3rd line that is important.

Then /usr/share/xml/schema/w3c/mathml/dtd/catalog.xml contains:

  http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/dtd/mathml2.dtd";
uri="mathml2.dtd"/>

  http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/dtd/xhtml-math11-f.dtd";
uri="xhtml-math11-f.dtd"/>

i.e. nothing that will handle an entity.

How about adding

  http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML2/dtd/";
 rewritePrefix="./"/>

to /usr/share/xml/schema/w3c/mathml/dtd/catalog.xml or having
the quoted rewriteSystem in /etc/xml/w3-dtd-mathml.xml?

Concerning the latter solution, it seems that update-xmlcatalog
(in the postinst script) cannot be used since it doesn't support
rewriteSystem (if its man page is complete).

So, the former solution would be preferable. I haven't tried it, but
this is what docbook2x chooses. /usr/share/docbook2X/dtd/catalog.xml
contains:

  http://docbook2x.sourceforge.net/latest/dtd/";
rewritePrefix="./" />

  http://docbook2x.sf.net/latest/dtd/";
rewritePrefix="./" />

Bug#673211: gnome-shell segfaulting

Daniel,

Well the way I solved my problem is I removed "accountservice" and
"libaccountservice0" package, along with their removal what was also
removed is (its dependencies): gdm, gnome-shell, gnome-session,
gnome-control-center.

Which after installing accountservice and libaccountservice0 from
testing I just re-installed from unstable (my default distro).

Scenario:

apt-get remove accountservice libaccountservice0

apt-get -t testing install accountservice libaccountservice0

Bug#673321: ada-reference-manual-info and ada-reference-manual-2005: error when trying to install together

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/share/info/aarm2005.info.gz
  /usr/share/info/arm2005.info.gz

-Ralf.

of this kind see http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/.

I should have checked the upstream BTS *before*:

The upstream fix is different, nevertheless I kept yours for two
reasons: first, because it has been tested on different Debian systems
and, second, because this will come back when merging the Ubuntu package
(from which the upstream patch originates).

I've checked your patch and it works! Flegita appears to be really
nice program ;-)

Hmm. I think I'll add a workaround for that.

Hi Jonathan;

Guess I should have been more patient -- This afternoon's 'safe-upgrade'
appears to have fixed whatever the issue was. Haven't experienced the
Xorg lockup since.

Thanks for your prompt response!

Bug#673168: gosa: postinst failure: apache2_invoke: command not found

2012-05-17 Thread Cajus Pollmeier
Looks like you've apache2.2 instead of apache2.4 installed. Interresting,
because I cannot reproduce this on my "unstable" system. The way the postinst
script is done is the recommended way for the time after the apache 2.4
transition.

Additionally you seen to have leftovers of lighttpd installed.

Bug#668954: Status of this bug?

2012-05-17 Thread Touko Korpela
Do you know if this bug "policycoreutils: /usr/bin/sandbox "Invalid

If so, then maintainers should update BTS status so that it knows this isn't
regression. This bug prevents policycoreutils from migrating to testing.

Thank you for your bug report, you are very much right. Unfortunately, we are
a bit short of man power so would love help on this issue (and other issues as
well)

So if you can spare a afternoon and improve the copyright file, it will be
much appreciated.

From Explorer and from the tools menu inside Outlook NT you never have to
explore a mailer, this way then from the folder inside Excel you either can
never enable the program, or cannot get access on a floppy disk for resetting

Bug#670097: gnome-shell: random hang causes data loss

2012-05-17 Thread Brent S. Elmer Ph.D.
I have had this problem on two different computers starting in the last
day or two. Both are running Wheezy and I generally apply updates
daily. One of the computers is a Lenovo w500 laptop with a radeon video
card and I am using the free radeon video driver. The other is a
desktop with an Nvidia card and I am using the proprietary Nvidia video
driver. The laptop is my work laptop and froze 3 times yesterday and
has frozen twice already today. When this happens, the image on the
screen freezes. I can move the mouse and see it moving around the
screen. I can do ctl-alt-f1 ... to get to other terminals. When I log
in from the terminal and do a top, nothing is taking excessive CPU or
anything. One time I left the screen frozen while I ate lunch to see if
it ever would come back but it didn't. I can do ctl-alt-backspace to
restart X and I am brought to the login screen where I can log in again
and work for a while until it freezes again.

Package: python-poppler-qt4
Version: 0.16.2-1

Bonjour,

I'm using frescobaldi, a frontend for lilypond, the best score editor I know

Suddenly, I can't more open a frescobaldi file ; frescobaldi crashes
with this error :

python: /tmp/buildd/sip4-4.13.2/siplib/siplib.c :8164 :
sip_api_convert_from_new_type: L'assertion « (((td)->td_flags & 0x0007)
== 0x) » a échoué.

Abandon
"a échoué" means "has failed" and "abandon" means "abort"

I've posted a bug report on frescobaldi list and here is the answer :

> this is a known issue caused by the debian package of python-poppler-qt4.

 It is built for the wrong version of the python-sip package. Upgrading
python-sip and

 python-poppler-qt4 may help, or installing python-poppler-qt4 manually.
>
> closing because it is not a Frescobaldi bug.

I suppose that frescobaldi maintener knows what he says so is it
possible to correct the problem ?

Package: sdl-ball
Version: 1.01-1
Severity: important
Tags: sid wheezy
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-4.7

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.7/g++-4.7, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.6/g++-4.6. The
severity of this report may be raised before the wheezy release.

main.cpp:4668:18: error: 'usleep' was not declared in this scope

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2012/03/29-clang-gcc47/unstable-gcc47/sdl-ball_1.01-1_unstable-gcc47.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

Some hints on fixing these issues can be found at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.7/porting_to.html

To build with GCC 4.7, either set CC=gcc-4.7 CXX=g++-4.7 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

Hello Christophe,

Too late, it has been uploaded into experimental ;-)
I followed the procedure about library transitions and filed a bug
against release.d.o to ask whether I can upload into unstable.

For the time being (the upstream BTS shows some discussion) I will
simply apply your patch and "forget" that we can build Bacula without
SSL support but with SHA-1, given that Debian does not provide such
packages.

While the patch is perfectly fine, we should completely remove the two
offending files from the upstream sources as well. Unfortunately, the
DFSG-free .orig.tar.gz Kefu uploaded still contains them:

I am going to upload a fixed package this weekend.

Thx, bye,

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.7/g++-4.7, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.6/g++-4.6. The
severity of this report may be raised before the wheezy release.

xdrawchem/application.cpp:1467:31: error: 'getpid' was not declared in this
scope

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2012/03/29-clang-gcc47/unstable-gcc47/xdrawchem_2.0-1_unstable-gcc47.log

I don't think we should cater to such use cases. Indeed, I was unconvinced
that we should split the binary packages at all for this; but having done
so, I see no reason why we care about someone wanting libpam-winbind without
libnss-winbind. If you're doing authentication via winbind, it's silly to
not also do the UID mapping part.

Bug#669526: fixed the FTBFS report

2012-05-17 Thread Georges Khaznadar
The fix for "can't find unit interfaces" has been made before the bug
report (however the new version was released after the bugreport).

The reason why it has been fixed early is because it is much like the bug
#666384 found in the package optgeo of the same author.

I tagged this bug as fixed.

Best regards,   Georges.

Hi Mathieu,

this bug is still not fixed :(. I've posted a simple example to test it
some time ago here [1], it should print OFF when libvtk5-qt4-dev is not
installed. Could you please test it before closing the bug, next time.

What needs to be done is:
- Remove the static VTK_USE_QVTK flag from the VTKConfig.cmake.
- Add a dynamic check if QVTK is really installed.

Cheers,

Jochen

Bug#673292: scilab hangs forever on buildds

2012-05-17 Thread Andreas Barth
Package: scilab
Version: 5.4.0-alpha-20120903-33206a8-1~exp2
Severity: serious

Hi,

in case scilab doesn't work the selected mechanismn to just spit out
things every 10 minutes prevents the build from terminating by itself.
E.g. from today:
buildd2  28179 28152 99 May05 ?11-21:20:09
/build/buildd2-scilab_5.4.0-alpha-20120903-33206a8-1~exp2-mips-9DAA9u/scilab-5.4.0-alpha-20120903-33206a8/.libs/lt-scilab-cli-bin
 -ns -noatomsautoload -f

The timeout mechanismn is there to terminate builds which don't behave
and don't terminate. You must not write code which just outputs the
process list every 10 minutes, so that it blocks a buildd for more
than 10 days by just being broken!

Please fix that, and fix that also in unstable.

Andi

During rebuild of your package in a recent clean sid pbuilder, it has
failed to build from source.

I believe this is due to dh_builddeb switching to xz compression by
default (for udebs). I have a debdiff to resolve this problem (removing
override_dh_builddeb). If there is a good reason for using gzip
compression instead of the default, let me know.

Any idea, what's going wrong? I don't have anything useful
in .xsession-errors (except the above) nor my syslog nor daemon.log.

Bug#673280: apt-get ignores 'Architecture: all' packages when installing i386 package in an amd64 environment

2012-05-17 Thread reini
Package: apt
Version: 0.9.3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

I'm trying to install wine:i386 in a multiarch environment, with the native
architecture being amd64. This fails because cups-bsd:i386 depends on
update-inetd and cups-common, which are Architecture: all:

$ LANG=C sudo apt-get install -t unstable wine:i386 libwine-print:i386
cups-bsd:i386 cups-client:i386

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 cups-bsd:i386 : Depends: update-inetd:i386 but it is not installable
 Depends: cups-common:i386 but it is not installable
 cups-client:i386 : Depends: cups-common:i386 (>= 1.5.2) but it is not
installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

cups-common and update-inetd are already installed on the system.
