this doesn't seem related to accountsservice.
I'll try to allocate some time to reproduce the crash and then get a backtrace.

Hi,

systemd is only available on Linux. This means the build dependency on
libsystemd-login-dev and libsystemd-daemon-dev can't be fulfilled on
non-Linux systems. You should either mark those as [linux-any] or
consider disabling systemd support seeing that systemd is not (yet) the
default init system on Debian.
I assume that enabling systemd support (which seems to be used for
session tracking) has a working runtime fallback to ConsoleKit if
systemd is not found running?

Michael

No, it doesn't. X works. I crashes and takes X with it. That's not breaking it,
or can't you start X afterwards?

Severity: serious

Dear maintainer(s) of libcommons-validator-java,

TL;DR: Please upload a new version of this package closing this bug.

Problem
~~~
Your package uses the dh_installcatalogs helper from debhelper. This helper
added code to the postinst that unconditionally overwrites files in /etc which
is a policy violation. The corresponding bug #477751 is now solved in
debhelper. Nevertheless the code overwriting files in /etc is still present in
a binary package built from this source package, so your package needs a
rebuild. Unfortunately the binary package in question is Architecture: all, so
a binNMU is not enough.
How to solve
This bug tracks the progress of the rebuild and should be closed by any upload
of this package. Before building, please ensure that your debhelper version is
at least 9.20120528 which should be the case if you are running sid.
Is my package really/still affected?
Any binary package using the dh_installcatalogs helper will add a versioned
dependency on sgml-base. If the depended upon version is at least 1.26+nmu2,
your package is not affected. In that case, just close this bug.
If you have any further questions concerning this issue, please don't hesitate
to contact me.
Thanks for your help
Helmut
Bug#674942: ruby blocks buildd for a day (or more)
Wow, I knew a lot was waiting on ruby1.8 (a security fix too) but the
graph is impressive.
perl has been waiting on new eglibc too, and apr.
It's already been uploaded (later than promised, but looks like Aurelien
hit some multiarch complications), it just built on kfreebsd-i386, only
waiting on kfreebsd-amd64 and then I intended to nag Christoph about the
rest.  And there are some maintainers I promised to mail when this happens.
After ruby1.8 is built, I hope ruby-rmagick and rcov can build after
givebacks.  (Due to a fix going in for #675347, which is not really
kfreebsd-* specific).
And there are other packages I should test (like guitarix, where there
were hangs in the waf build system), to see if the new eglibc helps there.
Hello,
It looks like it's the spurious -fPIE -pie options which come in the
Some do. See dependency graph for testing migration, attached.
(sudo apt-get install graphviz && dot -Tpng 1.png 1.dot)
eglibc upload, eglibc build, chroot upgrades, give backs is going to
take time, even if the eglibc upload happens “soon”.
Hi,
The problem is that ovito's new version depends on libtachyon-dev.
#675714 must be fixed to be able to build ovito.
Cheers.
thanks
Since it's important for transition purposes to know when this behaviour
started, I should add that I've seen this behaviour with version
1:3.4.6-2~bpo60+1 (from backports). The crash I've seen is with the intel
driver but I've not successfully extracted debugging information from the
crash.
cheers
Have you cheked my APT-Preferences?
I use:
:~$ cat /etc/apt/preferences
Package: *
Pin: release a=stable
Pin-Priority: 100
Package: *
Pin: release a=testing
Pin-Priority: 900
Package: *
I don't told to apt to install libreoffice from unstable! So, if it was
installed, it was done with all apt policies.
I will try to downgrade it!
Thank you very much!
Bug#673185: gnome-shell: segfault in libaccountsservice.so.0.0.0
2012-06-03 Thread Michael Biebl
Teodor,
it's apparently simple for you to reproduce the bug, so it would be
great if you could install the -dbg packages for gnome-shell,
libaccountsservice and libglib2.0-0 and get a proper backtrace.
Without further information from your side we are kinda stuck.
It also could (as see above) just a X bug. The X maintainers
or "proprietary nvidia"? Both are not in Debian and unsupported.
File a bug *there* if it crashes X11.
Bullshit. Which unrelated software is *broken*? Get common sense, please.
None is. It is a crash.
So grave if at all.
Hi,
the following CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id was
published for openswan.
CVE-2011-0188[0]:
| The VpMemAlloc function in bigdecimal.c in the BigDecimal class in
| Ruby 1.9.2-p136 and earlier, as used on Apple Mac OS X before 10.6.7
| and other platforms, does not properly allocate memory, which allows
| context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a
| denial of service (application crash) via vectors involving creation
| of a large BigDecimal value within a 64-bit process, related to an
| "integer truncation issue."
If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE id in your changelog entry.
Cheers,
Steffen
Well, it works, but I don't like it. As it slows down the Java stuff on
kfreebsd-* much. (I originally also wanted to reenable libreoffice-gcj
when gcc-defaults get sorted out for the same reson) :(
Arne,
All the security issues are present in the stable release. I never
got a reply from the security team to my last proposed upload though
the security profile was slightly different then.
This issue doesn't warrant a DSA. You can fix it through a stable
point update instead.
So, is there a chance to see a fix to this in a stable point update?
Severity: serious
Dear maintainer(s) of docbook-slides,
TL;DR: Please upload a new version of this package closing this bug.
Problem
~~~
Your package uses the dh_installcatalogs helper from debhelper. This helper
added code to the postinst that unconditionally overwrites files in /etc which
is a policy violation. The corresponding bug #477751 is now solved in
debhelper. Nevertheless the code overwriting files in /etc is still present in
a binary package built from this source package, so your package needs a
rebuild. Unfortunately the binary package in question is Architecture: all, so
a binNMU is not enough.

How to solve

This bug tracks the progress of the rebuild and should be closed by any upload
of this package. Before building, please ensure that your debhelper version is
at least 9.20120528 which should be the case if you are running sid.

Is my package really/still affected?

Any binary package using the dh_installcatalogs helper will add a versioned
dependency on sgml-base. If the depended upon version is at least 1.26+nmu2,
your package is not affected. In that case, just close this bug.

If you have any further questions concerning this issue, please don't hesitate
to contact me.

Thanks for your help

Helmut

So, is there a chance to see a fix to this in a stable point update?

If you want to store data persistently, /var/tmp is not the right place.
The only real guarantee that /var/tmp provides is that data survives a
reboot. The FHS is pretty clear imho about this [1]

"Files and directories located in /var/tmp must not be deleted when the
system is booted. Although data stored in /var/tmp is typically deleted
in a site-specific manner, it is recommended that deletions occur at a
less frequent interval than /tmp."

Systemd by default cleans up unmodified/unaccessed files from /tmp after
10 days, and 30 days for /var/tmp.

sysvinit on Debian indeed does not clean up stale files from /var/tmp by
default. That said I'm not convinced that showing a (debconf) message
during installation is a good idea.

Maybe something for README.Debian?

I'm also not convinced that the severity is warranted, given the clear
definition of /var/tmp. That said, I'll leave that up to Tollef to decide.

Michael

Bug#673185: gnome-shell: segfault error 4 in libaccountsservice.so.0.0.0

2012-06-03 Thread Teodor MICU
Although it appeared that the problem is fixed in version 0.6.21-2,
after several hours the problem reoccurred. Indeed, the crash is not
that frequent and most important I didn't had a full gnome-shell crash
(it restarted automatically).

I can still reproduce the problem by just unplugging the power cord,
and in this case I get a gnome-shell crash that is not recoverable
without restarting the session.

Another thing to note is that the last crash was not caused by
accountsservice but by  glib library.

Ok, this is still open. There is a fix:

I think the last hunk will not apply cleanly, but as this is just NEWS it
should not be a problem.

Bug#675855: wml: FTBFS on the i386 and s390x buildds due to testsuite failures t/11-wmk.t

2012-06-03 Thread Axel Beckert
Package: wml
Version: 2.0.12ds1-2
Severity: serious

One test in t/11-wmk.t occassionally fails on the buildds:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=wml&arch=i386&ver=2.0.12ds1-2&stamp=1338684928
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=wml&arch=s390x&ver=2.0.12ds1-2&stamp=1338684969

I initially build the package many times on i386 Sid without issues,
then used an amd64 pbuilder for the upload, so I first thought it's not
a per-arch issue, but rather an issue which happens
non-deterministically only in the buildd environment.

But another build run on both architectures showed the same behaviour on
both architectures. (Thanks to Philip Kern for the prompt scheduling of
the second runs!)

Package: chromium
Version: 20.0.1132.21~r139451-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.1

This package builds against a embedded binary (compiled) ld.gold linker. Not
only does this break builds
against architectures that are not i386 or amd64, but this is, from my
understandings, a severe violation of
debian policy. Version 18 of this package successfully builds against Debian's
ld.bfd, making this also a
regression.

Also, with this version of the package, the only version available in the
archive is the uploaders .deb
no other architectures have been successfully built. Which is not a good sign.

While I would love to see chromium be part of Debian, it needs to play nice
(which is admittedly hard for
this package).

This version of the package should be immediately removed from the archives
until it can link against
the Debian-packaged linkers (either ld.bfd or ld.gold).

I noticed this while trying to get this package to build on armel. (I have
gotten the version 18 package
to build on armel, however the build package now has unaligned memory access
problems which are troublesome)

  As the build problems seem to go away with wheezy's schroot/sbuild
that'd be an upper limit ;-). It's on my ToDo list to further track it
down so we can have a openjdk-7 *in* wheezy and other people have been
looking on it as well but no promises here (at least from my side).

If that will work for you I'm fine with it.

Bug#650060: snort: diff for NMU version 2.9.2.2-1.1

Thanks!

Now we just have to figure out why it fails to build on all buildds,
although it built for me on amd64 and for you on i386 :/

Ah, here we are: it's "build vs. build-arch".

Hm, seems liks build-basic get called again from build-arch because
configure-stamp gets removed in between. The minimal fix seems to be
to remove the "rm -f configure-stamp" from debian/clean_sources.sh
(then I can build a binary-only package and the "normal" package --
except that it doesn't build the PDF now. *sigh*)

Anyway, I'm attaching a more invasive patch that allows me to build a
complete and an arch-only package.

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#675495: Bug#675834: hsqldb: FTBFS: The import java.sql.SQLFeatureNotSupportedException cannot be resolved

Hi,

Interesting. This should be JAVA7 only:

+//#ifdef JAVA7
+public Logger getParentLogger() throws SQLFeatureNotSupportedException
+{
+throw new SQLFeatureNotSupportedException("Not supported yet.");
+}
+
+//#endif JAVA7

> If you have further questions please mail debian-...@lists.debian.org

Yes, when is kFreeBSD getting a ported OpenJDK(7)?

I mean this upload just was a upload getting the fix from LibreOffice
over to hsqldb to fix build with JDK7 as the security team apparently
thinks getting rid of OpenJDK6 two weeks before the freeze/inside the freeze
is a good idea.
(This also means that LO 3.6+ and LO 3.5.4-1+ - which got the patch, too -
won't also build on kfreebsd-* if using the embedded hsqldb...)

But maybe we should just stop the native compilation, which makes this a pure
_all package and then it can build everywjere (and we can then ignore that this
is not building on gcj archs as noone seriously will build there for _all
packages)

Regards,

Rene

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from

It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a

Bug#555168: Unclear license situation for (e)glibc locales provided by you

2012-06-03 Thread Helge Kreutzmann
Hello,
you are listed as contact person/author of the following locale(s):

sr_ME sr_RS sr_RS@latin

These locales come with a statement

% Distribution and use is free, also
% for commercial purposes.

Thus they do not allow modification; it is unclear, however, if this
statement was meant as a license.

As discussed in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=555168 these
locales could strictly speaking not be part of Debian which would be a
great loss. (Currently they are allowed pending investigation).

To properly resolve this, I would like to ask you the following
question:

Would you be willing to relicense these locale(s) to a proper license,
e.g. (L)GPL v2 or higher or another free software license of your choice?

If you have any questions regarding this issue, do not hesitate to
contact me (via the reply-to address set).

Thanks for helping to resolve this!

Helge

Bug#555168: Unclear license situation for (e)glibc locales provided by you

2012-06-03 Thread Helge Kreutzmann
Hello,
you are listed as contact person/author of the following locale(s):

gd_GB gv_GB kw_GB hy_AM ka_GE oc_FR pap_AN yi_US

These locales come with a statement

% Distribution and use is free, also
% for commercial purposes.

Thus they do not allow modification; it is unclear, however, if this
statement was meant as a license.

Further the following locales only have a part of the above statement:
fy_DE li_BE li_NL nds_DE nds_NL

As discussed in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=555168 these
locales could strictly speaking not be part of Debian which would be a great
loss.
(Currently they are allowed pending investigation).

To properly resolve this, I would like to ask you the following question:

Would you be willing to relicense these locale(s) to a proper license, e.g.
(L)GPL v2 or higher or another free software license of your choice?

If you have any questions regarding this issue, do not hesitate to contact
me (via the reply-to address set).

Thanks for helping to resolve this!

Helge

Are you using gnome-shell or fallback (GNOME Classic)?
Do you have any error messages in ~/.xsession-errors, dmesg or your syslog?

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

This rebuild was done by building only architecture:any binary packages
(binary-arch target of debian/rules), and using a newer dpkg that uses the
build-arch target if available.
Also, only the Build-Depends were installed, not the Build-Depends-Indep.

lugaru build-depends on ..., libglew1.7-dev | libglew-dev, ... . The
build daemons require that the first package in an alternative is
installable, which is not the case of libglew1.7-dev, which has been
renamed to libglew-dev a few months ago.

Please build-depends on libglew-dev instead, or if you really want to
keep the alternative, on libglew-dev | libglew1.7-dev.

Looks like both are derived from xml2-config's output, I will work on
this later after finishing dealing with the libxml2 problem.

These files directly correlate to some of TYPO3 content elements.
Removing the swf would mean to patch TYPO3 core too.
