Bug#665518: clipit: diff for NMU version 1.4.1-1.1

2013-06-03 Thread Cristian Henzel
Hello,

there's an upstream version of ClipIt available in which this bug is fixed, but
I didn't upload it yet because I didn't want to create additional work for the
people involved with the freeze/release. I can prepare a new upload of the
upstream version in about a week or so, but I don't mind your NMU if you think
it's needed.

Bug#710865: version rc1 shall not enter testing until red is fixed

2013-06-03 Thread Martin Zobel-Helas
Package: ed
Version: 1.9~rc1-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

version rc1-2 shall not enter testing as this version ships a broken 'red'
package. This needs to be fixed during next upload. This might require ed
package moving from /bin/ed to /usr/bin/ed.

Cheers,
Martin

Bug#598639: [RC: #598639] foomatic-gui/printconf: Not working in modern CUPS environments

Chris, almost a year has passed. Do you agree with removal from
unstable or what's your plan for foomatic-gui?

It's been one more year-and-a-half without any action, upload, or handling of

hasn't been in the two past stable releases. In particular, there was no
especially not on this one claiming that foomatic-gui doesn't work in modern
CUPS environment.

Also, printconf asks the user to send autodetect information to foomatic-
d...@packages.qa.debian.org and we don't do anything with this information, so
if we can't agree to removing foomatic-gui (but I think enough time was given
to the maintainer), I intend to NMU it to make that hint point to foomatic-

Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Automatic builds of icinga have been failing because its stated build
dependencies include

libgd3-dev | libgd2-noxpm-dev (= 2.0.1) | libgd2-xpm-dev (= 2.0.1)

whereas the -dev package corresponding to libgd3 is libgd-dev, with no
embedded version number. Could you please account for that?

Starting with eglibc 2.17 TIME_UTC is defined in time.h. Ubuntu should

Please let me know if I can help you track it down further.

Well, the bug should be already fixed upstream. We changed the name of
 the macro.

Cool. Could you point me to the revision that renamed the macro?

Bug#710873: libapache2-mod-perl2: FTBFS with newer libhttp-message-perl: t/api/err_headers_out.t failures

2013-06-03 Thread Niko Tyni
Package: libapache2-mod-perl2
Version: 2.0.8+httpd24-r1449661-2
Severity: serious

Failed builds on mips, mipsel, s390, sparc:

  Test Summary Report
  ---
  t/api/err_headers_out.t (Wstat: 0 Tests: 6 Failed: 3)
Failed tests: 2-3, 5

Looking at the test code in that file:

# HTTP::Headers 6.00 makes the next 2 tests fail. When the response comes
# in the header name is stored as x-err_headers_out. But when it is to
# be read below it is referred as x-err-headers-out and hence not found.
local $HTTP::Headers::TRANSLATE_UNDERSCORE=
$HTTP::Headers::TRANSLATE_UNDERSCORE;
undef $HTTP::Headers::TRANSLATE_UNDERSCORE
if defined HTTP::Headers-VERSION and HTTP::Headers-VERSION==6.00;

libhttp-message-perl 6.03-1 has HTTP::Headers VERSION 6.00
but the recently uploaded 6.06-1 has 6.05.

Changing that test to read 'HTTP::Headers-VERSION=6.00' fixes
the problem (although the equality comparison with a float makes me
slightly nervous.) Note that there are two instances of this code block
in the file.

I haven't verified this, but I assume this also applies to 2.0.8 with
Apache 2.2 and upstream should be informed. I couldn't find a CPAN
RT ticket about this in the HTTP-Message queue.

Bug#666799: Bug#666800: Bug#666799: Apache 2.4 and the other libapache*-perl packages

2013-06-03 Thread Niko Tyni

Now that apache 2.4 and the new mod-perl is in unstable, I looked at
the other libapache*-perl packages. They all fail the test suite
because they don't find an MPM.

 Status:
 - libapache-singleton-perl, libapache-authenhook-perl,
   libapache2-reload-perl build, reviews/tests still welcome

These look OK to me. Possibly we/upstream should make Apache::Test
provide at least a default MPM if one can't be parsed from the system
Apache configuration. Still, it's much cleaner to have a standalone
configuration in the packaging.

The t/logs (and/or t/run?) directory creation should really be pushed
into Apache-Test, but having 'mkdir -p $(CURDIR)/t/logs' should be OK
as that doesn't fail if the directory already exists.

 - libapache2-authcookie-perl explodes in the test suite, and I have
no idea how to fix it (and if the problem is somewhere between
tests and packaging or if we have a more fundamental problem re.
   apache auth* changes in general)

There are Apache 2.4 API changes breaking this. At least this,
in Apache2::AuthCookie::authorize()

my $reqs_arr = $r-requires or return DECLINED;

From t/logs/error_log:

  [Mon Jun 03 08:13:11.638444 2013] [perl:error] [pid 16238:tid 46981196248832]
[client 127.0.0.1:35254] Can't locate object method requires via package
Apache2::RequestRec at
/home/niko/libapache2-authcookie-perl/blib/lib/Apache2/AuthCookie.pm line 391.\n

ap_requires() was removed in Apache2.4. From the documentation at
 http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/developer/new_api_2_4.html

The core server now provides better infrastructure for handling
Require configuration. Register an auth provider function for each
supported entity using ap_register_auth_provider(). The function
will be called as necessary during Require processing. (Consult
bundled modules for detailed examples.)

I expect it's currently totally broken and we should drop the package
from testing for now. (The bug should probably be 'grave'.)

The unfortunate lack of a reference mod_perl2 version to test against
makes it a bit hard to report this upstream.

Whilst there is a use to have the library package versioned, there is
little to be gained by versioning the -dbg package, and it does lead
to ongoing conflicts like this one.

Thanks - that sounds sensible!

The CVE and bug are lacking a bit of information, but it really looks
like a duplicate of Debian bug 700240 (CVE-2013-0270): large POST
requests consuming server memory/CPU. Both would be mitigated by a
request-limiting front-end (for Folsom and before) or the sizelimit
middleware (for Grizzly and after), which were suggested as workarounds
for CVE-2013-0270 already.

Already CVE-2013-0247 and CVE-2013-0270 were duplicates. Is it possible
that CVE-2013-2014 is also a duplicate of the same issue?

CVE-2013-0247 is not a duplicate of CVE-2013-0270.

CVE-2013-0270: Large POST consuming memory/CPU
CVE-2013-0247: Malicious POST to /tokens consuming disk space

Hope this helps,

_you_ bind mounted valuable data into a test environment which is ment to be

That said, we could probably do something about the situation.

Hi,

A new revision of the package was uploaded in unstable and it fix
this bug.

Thanks, but for reference in that case a versioned close (ideally via
-done) should have been used, to indicate which version the bug was
fixed in; see http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#closing

Severity: grave

Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

(echo-ing what was discussed on IRC in to the BTS.)

this udeb is currently uninstallable, breaking the netboot-gtk d-i
build:
  libpango1.0-udeb:amd64 Depends on libharfbuzz0 [ amd64 ] none ( none )
can't be satisfied!

This dependency should be optional (even if no flag exists for that
yet), so that libharfbuzz0 goes away from this udeb's Depends field.

 That's all done now.

pango built fine everywhere, so did harfbuzz and graphite2.

Bug#710890: libfftw3-3 transitional package also has to depend on libfftw3-long3

2013-06-03 Thread Adrian Bunk
Package: libfftw3-3
Version: 3.3.3-5
Severity: serious

libfftw3-3 in stable also contains the libfftw3l* libraries.

Therefore an upgrade to the transitional package has to also pull
in libfftw3-long3.

Hi Matthias,

i don't think this error is related to gcc as the build runs fine. The help2man
fails with a sigsegv. I just
tried to reproduce this on a experimental box but i can't. The help2man proces
the man page as desired.
I used:
Package: help2man
Version: 1.41.2

 Sven

Bug#710903: maradns: modifies conffiles (policy 10.7.3): /etc/maradns/mararc

2013-06-03 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: maradns
Version: 2.0.06-2
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package modifies conffiles.
This is forbidden by the policy, see
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-config-files

10.7.3: [...] The easy way to achieve this behavior is to make the
configuration file a conffile. [...] This implies that the default
version will be part of the package distribution, and must not be
modified by the maintainer scripts during installation (or at any
other time).

Note that once a package ships a modified version of that conffile,
dpkg will prompt the user for an action how to handle the upgrade of
this modified conffile (that was not modified by the user).

Further in 10.7.3: [...] must not ask unnecessary questions
(particularly during upgrades) [...]

If a configuration file is customized by a maintainer script after
having asked some debconf questions, it may not be marked as a
conffile. Instead a template could be installed in /usr/share and used
by the postinst script to fill in the custom values and create (or
update) the configuration file (preserving any user modifications!).
This file must be removed during postrm purge.
ucf(1) may help with these tasks.
See also http://wiki.debian.org/DpkgConffileHandling

In https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2012/09/msg00412.html and
followups it has been agreed that these bugs are to be filed with
severity serious.

debsums reports modification of the following files,
from the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  /etc/maradns/mararc

cheers,

Andreas

Bug#710906: FTBFS on non-Linux

2013-06-03 Thread Michael Biebl
Source: openscap
Version: 0.9.7-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

the new version of openscap fails to build on non-Linux [1], while it
built successfully in the past. As kfreebsd is a release architecture,
this will block the package from migration to testing.

Bug#710706: closing 710706

2013-06-03 Thread Thomas Pierson
fixed 710706 1.1.1+dfsg-2
thanks

Thanks, but for reference in that case a versioned close (ideally via
-done) should have been used, to indicate which version the bug was
 fixed in; see http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#closing

I am sorry, I forgot to specify the version number.

Regards,

Thomas Pierson

Package: gnome-settings-daemon
Version: 2.30.2-3
Severity: grave

The daemon segmentation fault on loading the plugins of
/usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon-2.0/*.so. The log of running
gnome-settings-daemon --no-daemon --debug is attached.

Please note that it segfaults on any *.so loading, not just
libxrandr.so, which is verified by disabling each *.so file that causes
the segfault. Also, the system is a Loongson2F based laptop running on
mipsel.

Bug#710911: bzr: init-repo fails: ImportError: cannot import name CommittedQueue

2013-06-03 Thread Thorsten Glaser
Package: bzr
Version: 2.6.0~bzr6574-1

Dear Maintainer,

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * Transition package to use default java implementation:
- d/control: Switch openjdk-6-jdk - default-jdk.
- d/rules: Set JAVA_HOME = /usr/lib/jvm/default-java.

Ubuntu quantal is transitioning default java from openjdk-6 to openjdk-7;
this patch eases the transition.

Note that this is not a release goal for wheezy.

Thanks for considering the patch.

What version of bzr-svn are you using?

This is a bug in bzr-svn no longer working with newer versions of subvertpy
(because of API changes in svn 1.7).
bzr-svn has been removed from the archive, partially for this reason.

Bug#710914: apache2.2-bin: copyright file missing after upgrade (policy 12.5)

2013-06-03 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: apache2.2-bin
Version: 2.4.4-5
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

a test with piuparts revealed that your package misses the copyright
file after an upgrade, which is a violation of Policy 12.5:
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html#s-copyrightfile

After the upgrade /usr/share/doc/$PACKAGE/ is just an empty directory.

This was observed on the following upgrade paths:

  testing - sid

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  MISSING COPYRIGHT FILE: /usr/share/doc/apache2.2-bin/copyright
  # ls -lad /usr/share/doc/apache2.2-bin
  drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 May 31 17:39 /usr/share/doc/apache2.2-bin
  # ls -la /usr/share/doc/apache2.2-bin/
  total 0
  drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 May 31 17:39 .
  drwxr-xr-x 105 root root 2220 May 31 17:39 ..

Additional info may be available here:
http://wiki.debian.org/MissingCopyrightFile

Note that dpkg intentionally does not replace directories with symlinks
and vice versa, you need the maintainer scripts to do this.
See in particular the end of point 4 in
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-unpackphase

For switching from a directory to a symlink the *postinst* script
should do something like this:

DOCDIR=/usr/share/doc/@@PACKAGE@@
DOCLINK=@@OTHERPACKAGE@@

if [ -d $DOCDIR ] [ ! -L $DOCDIR ]; then
rmdir $DOCDIR
ln -s $DOCLINK $DOCDIR
fi

For switching from a symlink to a directory, the *preinst* script
should do something like this:

DOCDIR=/usr/share/doc/@@PACKAGE@@

if [ -L $DOCDIR ]; then
rm $DOCDIR
fi

cheers,

Andreas

Bug#710353: libraw: CVE-2013-2126 CVE-2013-2127

2013-06-03 Thread Stepan Golosunov
Control: found -1 0.15.1-1

On Thu, May 30, 2013 at 09:22:27AM +0200, Moritz Muehlenhoff wrote:
 Package: libraw

 Tags: security

Two security issues have been found in libraw. Please see this link for
more information and links to upstream commits:

 http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2013/05/29/7

According to
http://blog.lexa.ru/2013/05/28/o_spiskakh_uyazvimostei_v_programmakh.html
the buggy code is present only in 0.15 branch.
Which means only experimental is affected, and only by CVE-2013-2126.

(Note that there are other packages that duplicate libraw sources.
Darktable, for example, includes libraw 0.14.7.)

Bug#666799: Bug#666800: Bug#666799: Apache 2.4 and the other libapache*-perl packages

2013-06-03 Thread gregor herrmann
On Mon, 03 Jun 2013 11:14:41 +0300, Niko Tyni wrote:

  - libapache-singleton-perl, libapache-authenhook-perl,
libapache2-reload-perl build, reviews/tests still welcome
 These look OK to me.

Thanks for your feedback!

 Possibly we/upstream should make Apache::Test
provide at least a default MPM if one can't be parsed from the system
Apache configuration. Still, it's much cleaner to have a standalone
 configuration in the packaging.

The t/logs (and/or t/run?) directory creation should really be pushed
into Apache-Test, but having 'mkdir -p $(CURDIR)/t/logs' should be OK
as that doesn't fail if the directory already exists.

Adding d/apache2.conf and creating/removing these directories in each
package is a bit tiresome indeed; but I also think it's fine for now
and we can always revisit the situation.

I've uploaded those three packages now.

  - libapache2-authcookie-perl explodes in the test suite, and I have
no idea how to fix it (and if the problem is somewhere between
tests and packaging or if we have a more fundamental problem re.
apache auth* changes in general)

There are Apache 2.4 API changes breaking this. At least this,
 in Apache2::AuthCookie::authorize()

 my $reqs_arr = $r-requires or return DECLINED;

 From t/logs/error_log:

   [Mon Jun 03 08:13:11.638444 2013] [perl:error] [pid 16238:tid
 46981196248832] [client 127.0.0.1:35254] Can't locate object method
 requires via package Apache2::RequestRec at
 /home/niko/libapache2-authcookie-perl/blib/lib/Apache2/AuthCookie.pm line
 391.\n

Oh, I missed this in t/logs/error_log among all the other authn and
authz errors ...
(Now I see it, too :))

ap_requires() was removed in Apache2.4. From the documentation at
  http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/developer/new_api_2_4.html

The core server now provides better infrastructure for handling
Require configuration. Register an auth provider function for each
supported entity using ap_register_auth_provider(). The function
will be called as necessary during Require processing. (Consult
 bundled modules for detailed examples.)

I expect it's currently totally broken and we should drop the package
from testing for now. (The bug should probably be 'grave'.)

Ack, thanks for updating the bug report.

The unfortunate lack of a reference mod_perl2 version to test against
makes it a bit hard to report this upstream.

Yup :/

I'm forwarding it anyway now to make upstream aware of the issue.

Cheers,
gregor

   Sure.

Could you also upload an i386 build for unstable ? Since I am a DM, I

No problem. Thanks for the hint!

Dear maintainer,

your package libapache2-reload-perl is provding an Apache2 web server module.
We're upgrading Apache to the new upstream version 2.4 [1] (tracked
as transition bug #661958). This requires all modules to be rebuilt
due to ABI changes. Thus, you need to rebuild and reupload your
Apache2 module package in a version compatible to our new package
available in experimental [2]. Please note it is not enough to
simply rebuild the module - it needs some adaptions in the module
package metadata. We have written packaging guidelines for our
reverse dependencies [3]. Please read it carefully, it should be able

Dear maintainer,

your package libapache-authenhook-perl is provding an Apache2 web server module.
We're upgrading Apache to the new upstream version 2.4 [1] (tracked
as transition bug #661958). This requires all modules to be rebuilt
due to ABI changes. Thus, you need to rebuild and reupload your
Apache2 module package in a version compatible to our new package
available in experimental [2]. Please note it is not enough to
simply rebuild the module - it needs some adaptions in the module
package metadata. We have written packaging guidelines for our
reverse dependencies [3]. Please read it carefully, it should be able
to answer most of your questions. Do also look at dh_apache2
(available through the dh-apache2 package) which can simplify
packaging Apache2 modules. In short, we want to highlight these
changes you need to be aware of.

* APIs changed for some cases [3]. Chances are your module needs some
adaptions, please get in touch with upstream or us if you need help
to port your module to Apache 2.4.

* MPM packages are gone. You cannot depend or conflict with a
particular MPM anymore. If your module does not work with a
particular module, make sure to make it abort with an error if
loaded together with an incompatible MPM. You can use our
apache2-maintscript-helper [4] to switch to the MPM of your choice
  in your maintainer scripts.

* Do not build-depend on apache2-threaded-dev or apache2-prefork-dev
anymore. Just like MPMs are gone, are our MPM -dev packages as
well. All modules need to simply build-depend on apache2-dev.

* Do NOT depend on apache2, apache2-common or any other real apache2
package in your binary module package. Depend on our virtual
  apache2-api-20120211 package only!

* Do NOT call a2enmod/a2dismod in your maintainer scripts. Use our
apache2-maintscript-helper [3] instead. This is required to get a
uniform and stateful handling of all Apache2 modules.

You can look at our Apache 2.4 packaging hints [5] for hands-on
tutorials. Please note: This bug is filed as important for now. As
the time goes by we plan make it a release critical severity. In the
consequences your module either needs an update or is going to be
removed from Wheezy. For the time being please tag the bug as pending
as soon as you have a package ready. We strongly recommend that at
least maintainers of complex module packages make an upload to
experimental as well. Of course, uploading simple modules to
experimental is welcome, too.

It seems the default installation path got changed somewhere after May
22. I have

  debian/tmp/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/_dbus_bindings.so

which is still as expected, but the python3 build is now

  debian/tmp/usr/lib/python3.3/site-packages/_dbus_bindings.so

Isn't this what is usually being taken care of by dh_python3? I don't
see a call of that in debian/rules.

Thank you,

Martin

Bug#710911: bzr: init-repo fails: ImportError: cannot import name CommittedQueue

2013-06-03 Thread Thorsten Glaser
Jelmer Vernooij dixit:

What version of bzr-svn are you using?

See below.

This is a bug in bzr-svn no longer working with newer versions of
subvertpy (because of API changes in svn 1.7). bzr-svn has been
removed from the archive, partially for this reason.

… oh.

bzr-svn:
  Installed: 1.2.1-1
  Candidate: 1.2.1-1
  Version table:
 *** 1.2.1-1 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Indeed. I see.

Okay, nothing one can do, then… I worked around by using a
chroot with an older version.

bye,

Bug#710286: lua-lgi: Missing Depends on gir1.2-glib-2.0

Hello,

After installing lua-lgi, the following command fails (same error with
lua5.2):

$ lua5.1 -e 'require(lgi)'
lua5.1: /usr/share/lua/5.1/lgi/ffi.lua:34: attempt to index local 'gobject' (a
boolean value)

/usr/share/lua/5.1/lgi.lua:19: in main chunk
[C]: in function 'require'
(command line):1: in main chunk
[C]: ?

That's because gi.require('GObject') and gi.require('GLib') from
lgi/ffi.lua both return false and thus fails later on when trying to
access object within these modules.

After investigating a bit, it appears that gi_require() (lgi/gi.c) calls
g_irepository_require() which searches for .typelib files, but GLib
and GObject .typelib files are not available because gir1.2-glib-2.0 is
not installed on my system (and thus missing in the Depends, but it
seems that only GObject and GLib .typelib are required according to the
source code). So, could you please add this package to Depends?

Perhaps, there are other missing Depends which could be checked by
running tests within a chroot without Build-Depends?

BTW, is there any reason why lua-lgi does not Depends upon any lua
interpreter package? Is it actually useable without it?

Cheers,

It seems the default installation path got changed somewhere after
 May 22.

I think this is because automake 1.12.6 changed the default when run
on Debian/Ubuntu. Testing a fix, I'll upload soon.

Isn't this what is usually being taken care of by dh_python3? I
don't see a call of that in debian/rules.

dh --with python3 runs dh_python3.

Therefore an upgrade to the transitional package has to also pull
 in libfftw3-long3.

There is no package depending on the long libraries, so it should not be
needed.
It could cause issues with packages not in the archive.
Do you have a case where it causes a problem?
