This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/right_http_connection.rb

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

Hi Andreas,

The buildd report for the package looks quite strange:

  http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/package.php?p=libjogl-java

I will do a sourceful upload soon to freshen the packaging and we can
see if it takes a more "normal" path through the buildds.

Cheers,

Bug#646247: No longer serious

2013-12-03 Thread Filipus Klutiero

severity 646247 minor
thanks

Following cups 1.5.3-4, usblp is no longer blacklisted. usblp now automatically
loads on my install, and Qink seems to work perfectly.

usblp may still be deprecated, so I am not closing this report to let someone
knowledgeable verify this usage, but downgrading. Please process as you wish.

Hi Bill,

As discussed on IRC, I've reproduced the bug and have a fix for this.
The problem occurs with the following transition:

ulogd 1.x => ulogd2 2.0.2-3 => [reboot] => ulogd2 2.0.2-4

In detail:

1. ulogd_1.x is installed on a wheezy or early jessie system
2. ulogd_1.x is replaced by ulogd_2.0.2-3 (transitional package) and
ulogd2_2.0.2-3. the 'ulogd' init script is left behind during this
transition, and 'ulogd2' is installed alongside it.
3. the system is rebooted, thus the 'ulogd' init script runs and starts
the ulogd daemon; the ulogd2 init script runs but fails
4. the ulogd packages are updated to 2.0.2-4, which fails because the
ulogd daemon is started in a different way to how the ulogd2 init
   script expects

The transition from ulogd 1.x to 2.x was initiated in 2.0.2-3. The
'ulogd' init script is removed by the 2.0.2-4 maintainer scripts, but
the daemon isn't stopped using that script. The next upload (2.0.3-1)
will run a stop in preinst as well as removing the old init script.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Chris

Dear Maintainer,

calling dbf-rb fails this way:

I believe this makes the package unusable for most if not all users.

This is very strange. When I started to investigate, that file had
disappeared from my system too, so it looks like there *is* a bug
somewhere.

However, after reinstalling the testing version, then upgrading to the
sid one, then reinstalling the sid version (under supervision of a
stap script sending SIGSTOP to anyone unlinking that file), I could
not reproduce the problem: only dpkg itself ever gets caught, once,
unlinking the file, which looks reasonable, and the file is there at
the end of the run.

I'm wondering if that could not be caused by a bug in the mime
trigger, that would have been fixed already.

Can you please retry the test, and if it still fails, run it while the
following stap script is running:

--- >8 --- sgf.stap ---
probe begin { println("go...") }

probe syscall.unlink {
if (isinstr(pathname, "/x-sgf.xml")) {
println("unlink ", kernel_string($pathname))
printf("process traceback:\n %s\n", pstrace(task_current()))
raise(19) # SIGSTOP
}
}
--- >8 ---

(run as "stap -g sgf.stap" as a user in groups stapdev and stapusr,
with the linux-image-*-dbg matching you running kernel installed)

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

Preconfiguring packages ...
Selecting previously unselected package libgomp1:amd64.
(Reading database ... 10882 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking libgomp1:amd64 (from .../libgomp1_4.8.2-6_amd64.deb) ...

Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/mason_1.0.0-12.3_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

  /usr/bin/mason
  /usr/share/man/man1/mason.1.gz

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

-Ralf.

Please note the '(ignored)' part. From debian/changelog:

Bug#723913: Perl 5.18.1 breaks latex2html

2013-12-03 Thread Tim Theisen
I was looking into a problem that occurs while building the HTCondor
documentation on debian unstable (Sid). Figures and tables with captions
cause latex2html to go into an infinite loop.

I did further research on this problem and found this posting about how
perl 5.18.1 broke latex2html.

https://github.com/Starlink/starlink/issues/10
The very last post in the thread mentions the root cause and a fix.

It points to a redhat bug report on about a regression in perl 5.18 with
\8 and \9 back-references which are used in latex2html when processing
captions.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=978233

So, it looks like we need a fixed perl to proceed.

Ah, thanks for the pointer! This is the issue that is currently holding

Bug#729765: fglrx-modules-dkms: fglrx module does not compile on recent x86 kernels

2013-12-03 Thread Alex Andreotti
Package: fglrx-driver
Version: 1:13.8~beta1-3
Followup-For: Bug #729765

Dear Maintainer,

today I've upgraded fglrx-driver and got this same problem (iommu while
building the module).
A binary version of the driver seem to be loaded (from Xorg log) but it is very

with module assistant.
I've tried both 3.10-3-686-pae and 3.11-2-686-pae kernels but got same result.

thanks

Due to a change in docbook-xsl-ns a2x fails with xmllint bits.

CC'ing the docbook-xsl maintainer so he's aware to perhaps notify the
other r-b'ds so that packages don't randomly ftbfs.

Cheers,
  Paul

since it seems the pile of packages in new is a bit reduced now I would
like to attract your attention to orthanc which is actually not new but
has a new binary package name. This upload is fixing an RC bug and it
would be nice if you could let it through soonish.

Kind regards and thanks for your great work

Package: oss4-dkms
Version: 4.2-build2007-2
Severity: important

oss4-dkms depends on linux-headers-686-pae | linux-headers-amd64 |
linux-headers-generic | linux-headers.

linux-headers is a virtual package that is no longer provided,
starting with Linux 3.11. This is because any level of dependency
(Depends, Recommends or Suggests) on 'linux-headers' prevented APT
auto-removing any of the packages that provide it.

oss4-dkms will thus become uninstallable on non-x86 architectures.

I suggest that you replace this dependency with a recommendation of
linux-headers-686-pae | linux-headers-amd64 | linux-headers-generic

Ben.

Bug#731237: openjpeg: CVE-2013-1447 CVE-2013-6045 CVE-2013-6052 CVE-2013-6054

2013-12-03 Thread Raphael Geissert
Hi,

There are also some other issues that are specific to 1.5.1 (or at
least they do not affect 1.3):

CVE-2013-6053: information leaks
CVE-2013-6887: DoS

All the patches will be available as soon as I forward to oss-sec the
messages I sent to the distros list.

Cheers,

Bug#731246: condor: Needs to adapt to Globus Toolkit multi-arch support

2013-12-03 Thread Mattias Ellert
Source: condor
Version: 7.8.8~dfsg.1-2
Severity: serious

With the recent update of Globus Toolkit to version 5.2.5, the debian
packages implements Multi-Arch support. For this reason the install
location for the architecture dependent header files had to be changed.

For packages that depend on Globus Toolkit and use pkg-config to find
the location of the headers, this change is seamless. The condor package
however, hardcodes the install location in its cmake files and will fail
to build if a rebuild is attempted.

The attached patch adds the new install location to the build
configuration. (An alternative approach would be to convert the build
configuration to use pkg-config instead, but that might be more
invasive.)

Mattias

PS. At the moment the condor build also fails due to a broken latex2html
that goes into an endless loop during generation of the documentation
files. (See BTS #723913)

Hi,

I'll need to check if the new upstream version at

fixes this. Problem is that it's a fork of latex2html independent of
Ross Moore.

Bug#723913: latex2html causes condor not to build

2013-12-03 Thread Mattias Ellert
block 728179 by 723913
thanks

The condor binnmu due to the gsoap update failed during documentation
generation due to a recent problem with latex2html.

If \captions are removed from all \tables and \figures in the
documentation the build succeeds, but that is clearly not the right
thing to do...

Bug#728822: Orthanc 0.7.2

2013-12-03 Thread Sebastien Jodogne

Hi Andreas,

Following our discussion of this morning [1], I have just updated the
DebianMed repository with the newest upstream version of Orthanc (0.7.2)
[2]. This release includes an adaptation of the " detect-endian.patch"
from Adam Conrad [3], that has also been applied upstream [4]. So, bug
#728822 should be fixed with this new release.

Please would you kindly check whether everything is OK and upload it to
unstable? As it embeds the newly packaged "liborthancclient0.7" shared
library, perhaps the ftpmaster could set this upgrade to higher priority.

Please let me know if I can further help. Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Sébastien-

Package: ruby-rails-4.0

ruby-rails-4.0 depends on ruby-sprockets-rails (>= 2.0.0~rc4), but that
version is not in the archive:

vauxhall ok % rmadison ruby-sprockets-rails
 ruby-sprockets-rails | 1.0.0-1 | jessie | source, all
 ruby-sprockets-rails | 1.0.0-1 | sid| source, all

Between this bug and bug 719798 (missing dependencies for
ruby-activerecord-4.0), this means that rails 4.0 is not installable.
This is disappointing because I'd like to play with rails 4 but can't.
I would build the missing from the git repository but the version
available there is still 1.0.0.

directory does not exist anymore.

I now believe this to be fixed in SVN. Hopefully it hasn't broken
anything either, although I don't have any valid tar files using that
particular prefix encoding to test on.

Bug#728822: [adcon...@debian.org: Bug#728822: FTBFS on big-endian architectures, patches attached]

2013-12-03 Thread Sebastien Jodogne

Hi Andreas,

Could you please confirm that you subscribed the package to get the
mails automatically? Alternatively you can (should) subscribe the
maintainer mailing list

https://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/debian-med-packaging

which also will bring issues of orthanc directly to your attention.

Yes, I confirm that I subscribed to both the package and the maintainer
mailing list on this morning.

I would like now to work on the Orthanc 0.7.2 package, but since it
will embed the "liborthancclient0.7" package, I assume this will
take several weeks before it is actually available.

If we announce to ftpmaster kindly that a package will fix an RC bug
this definitely gets priority (I'd volunteer to write the according mail
- just ping me). I hope that even in general the new processing will be
faster than it used to be until recently.

OK, thanks for this interesting information! I work on this topic ASAP.

Cheers,
Sébastien-

I admit that new queue was quite delayed but in the last days ftpmaster
did a great job - hope this will continue.

Hi,

dialign-t currenly FTBFS on all buildds because they only run "debian/rules

This can be fixed in debian/rules like this:

Bug#728822: [adcon...@debian.org: Bug#728822: FTBFS on big-endian architectures, patches attached]

2013-12-03 Thread Sebastien Jodogne

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for pointing this patch to me!

The support of big-endian architectures was only included in Orthanc
0.7.1 (released on October 30th).

It was not present in Orthanc 0.6.2, which finally came out of the NEW
queue yesterday. It took about 6 weeks for this version of the Debian
package to come out. I assume this is because of the packaging of the
new component "Orthanc Client".

I will check whether the patch from the Ubuntu team can still improve
the upstream code of Orthanc 0.7.2.

I would like now to work on the Orthanc 0.7.2 package, but since it will
embed the "liborthancclient0.7" package, I assume this will take several
weeks before it is actually available.

Cheers,
Sébastien-

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

   * detect-endian.patch: Patch to correctly detect endianness of the
current host architecture, inspired by upstream's incomplete fix.
   * fix-endian-png.patch: Patch from upstream to fix PngWriter and
the associated tests on above detected big-endian architectures.

The second patch in the series is a straight backport from upstream
of their PngWriter and testsuite fix, and should be self-evident as
such.

The first patch was heavily inspired by upstream's fix[1] for endian
detection, except that it does it correctly for all arches, instead
of bizarrely assuming that only __powerpc__ is big-endian. Please
forward this one to them as a more complete fix.

If upstream is concerned that might not exist on Win32 (I
have no way of checking this, so don't know), the extra include could
be dropped, as includes on Linux anyway. I just
prefer to be explicit in my includes when using features, as implicit
includes tend to bite you when linux or glibc upstream decide to move
things around. :)

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'sid' to 'experimental'.
It installed fine in 'sid', then the upgrade to 'experimental' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

Hi,

as per #728371, valgrind will be soon removed from armel, but it
appears that dbus currently Build-Depends on valgrind on such
architecture.

Could you please fix this?

Thanks

Bug#731214: dialign-t: FTBFS with debian/rules build-arch

2013-12-03 Thread Roland Stigge
Source: dialign-t
Version: 1.0.2-4
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

Hi,

dialign-t currenly FTBFS on all buildds because they only run "debian/rules
build-arch", i.e. without building arch independent packages:

...
make[1]: Entering directory `/«PKGBUILDDIR»'
dh_fixperms
chmod 644 /«PKGBUILDDIR»/debian/dialign-tx-data/usr/share/dialign-tx/*
chmod: cannot access

directory
make[1]: *** [override_dh_fixperms] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/«PKGBUILDDIR»'
...

This can be fixed in debian/rules like this:

==
override_dh_fixperms:
dh_fixperms

override_dh_fixperms-indep:
chmod 644 $(CURDIR)/debian/dialign-tx-data/usr/share/dialign-tx/*
