Seems like rem has too few ressources for it (see
https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=haskell-githubarch=mipselsuite=sid
rem always took longest). Therefore blacklisting it on rem,
rescheduling it on another buildd where it built successfully.

assignments between pointers to double and pointers to qreal are not ok.

Unfortunately this was not a simple case like the ones i've seen before,
the assignment was between two member variables and there seemed to be
quite a chain of code in both directions. I've fixed it so it builds but
I don't really know if the fix is correct so you should probablly get
someone who understands the code to look it over before applying.

Description: Fix yet another qreal vs double issue.
On most architectures qreal is defined as double but on arm architecture
it's defined as float. Assignments between qreal and double are ok but
assignments between pointers to qreal and pointers to double are not ok.
.
This patch changes the types of some declarations to avoid attempting to
make assignments between pointers to qreal and pointers to double.

Reverting to ruby-locale 2.0.9-1 makes it work again. ruby-locale
could, arguably, be blamed for breaking other packages. I don't know :(

There are a few more bugs (which render the package unusable, for me)
listed on the http://bugs.debian.org/apt-listbugs. Notable: 730822,
725672. Another ruby package, ruby-soap4r, is blamed for the 725672
trouble.

It's a bit messy situation right now. Any chance of sorting this out
soon? apt-listbugs is quite useful to me. I'd hate to loose it.

Hi,

The new ruby-locale is not shipping locale/util/memoizable anymore.

This is breaking ruby-gettext, an explicit Breaks should probably be
added against ruby-gettext.

I'm opening this bug to prevent the package from migrating to testing

Cheers

Source: nipype
Version: 0.8-1
Severity: important
User: python-modules-t...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: sphinx1.2

When rebuilt against python-sphinx 1.2~b1+dfsg-2 (available in
experimental), nipype failed to build from source:

| sphinx-build -b html -d _build/doctrees . _build/html
| Making output directory...
| Running Sphinx v1.2b1

| Extension error:

| make[1]: Leaving directory `/build/nipype-LeEbqB/nipype-0.8/doc'
| make: *** [doc-stamp] Error 2

sphinx.roles.xfileref_role was deprecated since Sphinx 1.0 and finally
removed in Sphinx 1.2.

sphinx.roles.XRefRole should be used instead.

Note however that Sphinx (= 0.6) has its own inheritance_diagram
extension, which of course works. :) It might be a good idea to use it
instead of your own copy. (I didn't check if/how they differ, though.)

This turns out to be a bug in python-matplotlib. A patch that fixes this bug is
attached. After also applying first hunk of [1], nitime builds fine.

The matplotlib patch is taken from [2].

Bug#713454: Patch fix

2013-12-26 Thread Philip Muskovac
The attached patch was applied to the ubuntu package and is now crashing kded4:

#5 nl_object_get_id_attrs (obj=0x7f0e3bd523c0 route_obj_ops) at
/build/buildd/libnl3-3.2.21/./lib/object.c:523

local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=0, argv=argv@entry=0x7fffb78ad5a0)
at kernel/qobject.cpp:3539
...

I'm not familiar with ntrack and libnl, but I think the correct fix is:

nl_object_get_id_attrs(nl_object_alloc(route_obj_ops))

that doesn't crash so far (but I don't know whether it's correct either).

Hello Cristian,
thanks for your bug report.

However, it seems to me that the issue you are experiencing is
identical to the already reported #733140, which I have just reassigned
to ruby-locale:
http://bugs.debian.org/733140

 ruby-locale
could, arguably, be blamed for breaking other packages.

Indeed.
That's why I reassigned the other (identical) bug report to package
ruby-locale.

I am reassigning and merging this bug report too.

There are a few more bugs (which render the package unusable, for me)

Bug #725672 is a ruby-soap4r issue, as you correctly noticed.
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to study ruby-soap4r internals and
investigate the issue in the hope to devise a fix.
Please cooperate with ruby-soap4r maintainers to find a solution, if
you are able to help.

It's a bit messy situation right now. Any chance of sorting this out
soon? apt-listbugs is quite useful to me. I'd hate to loose it.

I can understand, but you should be able to use apt-listbugs itself to
work around the issues: after downgrading ruby-locale to version
2.0.9-1, you may use apt-listbugs to pin it to that version until this
bug is fixed.
For the two other bugs, please see the above described suggestions.

Bye.

Hi,

starpu-contrib needs to be rebuilt against nvidia-cuda-toolkit 5.5
A binNMU does not work in this case because it would involve non-free
stuff. A test rebuild in sid worked flawless, but I did not test the
packages at all. If you need help, I could do a rebuild-only NMU.

 Dear maintainer,

I've prepared an NMU for oxref (versioned as 0.91.00-1.1) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/2. Please feel free to tell me if I
 should delay it longer.

I already pushed the related commits to your repository in collab-maint.

 Regards.

 David

Hi David,

Uploading an NMU to DELAYED/2 on Christmas day doesn't give folks much
time to react. Please remove the NMU from the queue and I will work
with Frank prepare an upload that addresses the bug.

Thank you,
tony

Package: avahi-daemon
Version: 0.6.31-3
Severity: serious
Justification: break partial upgrades

  Hi,

At compilation time, in avahi-core/socket.c, if SO_REUSEPORT is defined,
setsockopt(..., SO_REUSEPORT, ..) is called.
But, if, at runtime, SO_REUSEPORT is not available (with a kernel = 3.9, ie
a wheezy kernel), the function fails and seems to lead to a quick exits of
avahi-daemon. Log file says :

Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: Found user 'avahi' (UID 105) and
group 'avahi' (GID 111).
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: Successfully dropped root privileges.
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: avahi-daemon 0.6.31 starting up.
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: Successfully called chroot().
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: Successfully dropped remaining
capabilities.
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: No service file found in
/etc/avahi/services.
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: SO_REUSEPORT failed: Protocol not
available
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: SO_REUSEPORT failed: Protocol not
available
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: Failed to create server: No suitable
network protocol available
Dec 12 11:20:48 plume avahi-daemon[22508]: avahi-daemon 0.6.31 exiting.

Just upgrading the kernel (from the wheezy one to the current testing one)
fixes the problem.

Perhaps, the reuseaddr() function in avahi-core/socket.c should not fail if
setsockopt(..., SO_REUSEPORT, ..) fails (or only if errno is not set to
EINVAL)?

  Regards,
Vincent

Hi,

gnuradio FTBFS on kfreebsd-* because the available libusb (from FreeBSD)

instead)

The attached patch (replacing the older, disabled patch bsd-fcd) will
use other functions when building on kfreebsd-*. It fixes the build,
but I don't really know how to test its functionality beyond that.

Thanks!

Hi David,
I've prepared a package with xylib-1.2 a month ago.
I'm not a DD and Carlo has been busy, so it's waiting:

 Dear maintainer,

I've prepared an NMU for xylib (versioned as 0.8-1.1) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/2. Please feel free to tell me if I
 should delay it longer.

 Regards.

Bug#718697: ptop (debian package): RC bug

Hi,

do you have any plans on updating your package ptop? According to the
CCed RC-bug, the version in sid does not work with the current postgres
version 9.3, so it would need to be updated.

If you need a sponsor for uploading this package, you can ask me.

thank you

Cheers

 Hi,
please don't close this bug. The Bug is still there and yes, it breaks
xpdf and some other software (At least zathura has some minor problems
 too with this bug).
I could not believe, there is a working and appropriate fix for this bug
but the bug is solved by breaking xpdf.
Such a behaviour is absolutely not helpful and negates the confidence in
debian at all. So please apply the patch from Michael Gilbert as a short
term solution and AFTER that, work together searching for a long term
 bug fix.

As written in the previous messages, the problem is not Fontconfig, so
this bug should not have been reopened.
Other packages that had problems with Fontconfig's pthreads are fixing
or have already fixed them.
Applying that proposed NMU patch is out of Debian quality standards
and one could only recompile his own packages with it if xpdf is
really needed (like you did in
ftp://ftp.ethgen.ch/pub/debian/pool/unofficial/f/fontconfig ).

The problem lies elsewhere as Pino Toscano said in

Seriously: the current xpdf in Debian is totally broken, and it has been
 for years even before the recent changes in fontconfig and/or poppler;
those just uncovered even more the nonsense the current xpdf is.

Hi,

this is fixed in upstream version 5.5.33

 https://mariadb.atlassian.net/browse/MDEV-4902

This is a known issue. I don't recall the details, but it might be
that even with .33a there was some issues. I'll look into this again
when I update current .32 into .35 (I've had a pause from packaging
while waiting for the NEW queue to be processed).

In my previous experiences with chrooted build environment I remember
/etc/mtab was not replicated in the chroot (using schroot for instance).

I'm wondering then if this is actually an issue in glances packaging.
I believe '/etc/mtab' should exist on regular environment.

I'm ready to change glances packaging to fix this FTBFS, though I'm not sure
this is actually necessary.

Can you tell me if glances is supposed to build in a mtab-less environment?

Cheers,
Geoff

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

Due to the switch of libiberty to his own package (libiberty|libiberty-dev).

Relevant part (hopefully):
 gcc -Wl,-z,relro main.o libltrace.a -lelf -lsupc++ -liberty  -o ltrace

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from

Bug#732578: Issue after conversion of AppArmor package to dh(1) and Multi-Arch

Yes, the i386 binary package that exposes this issue was built on the
 Debian buildd network:
 https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=apparmorarch=i386ver=2.8.0-3stamp=1386964661

... but the source package currently FTBFS in my pbuilder sid i386 and
amd64 chroots (same for 2.8.0-0ubuntu35, FWIW), so I can't confirm
this issues is still current. I will report the FTBFS separately.

After fixing the bison3-induced FTBFS, I still can't reproduce this i386
build problem. I'm uploading again now, and will see what the buildds
produce...

Upstream have a version which works natively with Android, so it should

The only other package to test is from Squeeze but that is too old
(version 5.x).

 Isn't SHA1 used in create_name_based() in guid.hpp? At least in 1.7

Indeed, added as suggested.

Hello,

As part of the transition to OpenJDK 7 and the removal of OpenJDK 6 from

default-jdk ?

Thanks,

Bug#720569: scala upload

2013-12-26 Thread tony mancill
Dear Scala Maintainers,

I just realized that scala is not a pkg-java/Debian Java Team maintained
package, and so the upload I just made to get scala to build against
Java7 could very rightly be considered rude by the team. (It also means
that I can't push the commits to the pkg-scala packaging repo.)

I did try to dcut it as soon as I realized that I couldn't push the
packaging changes, but never really seem to have luck with that:

Log of processing your commands file /tony-1388122985.commands:

 cancel scala_2.9.2+dfsg-2_amd64.changes
 No upload found: scala_2.9.2+dfsg-2_amd64.changes

 Greetings,

Your Debian queue daemon (running on host franck.debian.org)

So, first, my apologies for not coordinating this change with you. It
was an honest mistake. (Although it is embarrassing - I saw Debian
Scala Maintainers and somehow thought Debian Java Maintainers.) I
was merely trying to chip away at the RC Java bugs, came across #720569
and got eager when I found that the java7 branch upstream could be used
to create a patch. I am still a little confused that lintian didn't
warn me that I was essentially performing an NMU; I'll have to look into
why that is.

I definitely was *not* trying to hijack the package, and if I had
realized that it wasn't a Java Team package, I would have simply sent a
patch to the BTS and not made the other minor packaging changes that
you'll see in this upload.

I can format-patch the changes to you if you'd like, but there's nothing
very complicated going on. My apologies if this disrupts any packaging
work that was already in progress.

Sincerely,
tony (tmancill)

Err... I started the changelog with * Team upload. so there's no
mystery here. Too much muscle memory from working on Java team
packages... Sorry again about that.

Bug#733190: upgrading went fine though

2013-12-26 Thread Vlad Orlov
Don't know about the fresh installations, but today's upgrading VLC from
2.1.1-1 to 2.1.2.-1
went fine. No glitches.

Errors like the one reported are usually fixed with
$ dpkg --configure -a
and/or
$ apt-get -f install

Bug#721666: any update on a new version of software-center ?

2013-12-26 Thread shirish शिरीष
Dear Julian Andres Klode/JAK,
Saw both the bugs #721666 as well as #729080. It is/would be
nice to have an alternative GUI front-end to install software with
pictures (screenshots) etc.

I did see that the version in debian is pretty much backed up
vis-a-vis the version in Ubuntu. We have 5.1.2 while the latest stable
upstream is 5.6.

Looking forward to having a more recent version in testing.
