Please don't depend on asm3 at runtime. jarjar is used to relocate the
asm classes under a different package. This is necessary to avoid
classpath conflicts between different versions of asm.

I noticed that the cglib.jar distributed upstream contains the asm
license, but the license is missing from the jar in the Debian package
(this is true for libcglib-java and libcglib3-java). This should be fixed.

cglib internaly builds both versions, so it needs just a switch to the
other jar and some additional dependencies.

I'm not sure if some dpkg-shlibs-like mechanism exists for java, but
with the stuff I found yesterday that should be easy to implement. Even
a symbols like approach should be possible.

what Icedove related extensions do you have installed? All extensions
are from the Debian repositorys or there are some external extensions?
What happen if you starting Icedove in safe mode?

And can you please provide a debug log? Without that we are unable to
track down this issue.

I just tried installing monkeysphere on a stock wheezy system, setting
up monkeysphere-authentication with an identity certifier. then i
upgraded it to jessie, all without a problem.

I'm unable to reproduce the issue. if no one else is able to reproduce
the issue, i'm not sure how to proceed with it.

anarcat, if you're unable to pinpoint how the permissions got changed on
the server in question, perhaps you can close this bug? or if you can
reproduce it, i would be happy to know how. Thanks for the initial

which has been found to be imported in the packaging git. Should it be
uploaded for re-evaluation? It should be good to have midori back in

Strictly speaking, it's not true to say that we don't have the source
for this binary package in the repository. The ClassVisitor.class file
that jarjar pulled in from libasm[34]-java is built from sources in the
archive. See the ClassVisitor.java class in those packages.

I'm not trying to downplay the issue, it's a serious problem - both the
runtime issue and the jarjar bundling issue - only pointing out that we
do have sources for this class in the Debian archive.

tony

Hi Bastian,

Thanks for bringing this up. It appears that everything that build
depends on libjarjar-java or libjarjar-maven-plugin-java is likely
suspect for this type of problem.

Instead of Built-Using or updating debian/copyright, it seems preferable
to refactor the source to use the actual libasm3-java JAR, although I
haven't yet looked into how much effort that will require.

Cheers,
tony

Hi...

As far as I can see, CVE-2011-3935 [1] applies to libav-tools. As the
descriptions for the problem are bit low on information I use a high
severity - feel free to lower it if that is not appropriate. A fix for
ffmpeg is at [2].

Thank you for pointing out this issue. Unfortunately, the patch at
hand does not apply to libav. As I don't see a test-case that
demonstrates how to exploit this issue, I'm closing this bug for now.

If you think this is in error, please follow-up with a more thorough
explanation of the issue that explains how to reproduce or exploit
this issue, and ideally, a patch that applies to our source.

Again, thanks and have a nice day.

Yes, upstream has already released 0.46 and I'm trying to update to it.

2014-02-10 Thread Hideki Yamane
Control: tags -1 +patch +pending

Hi,

I've made a patch for this, not fully fixed issue but use guile-1.8.
Probably it needs more work for migrate 2.0, so I'd suggest it as
 temporary solution.

And, I'll upload it to 7 days-delayed queue. Francisco, if you don't
want it, please tell me (then I'll cancel it).

Looking at the disassembly, the crash seems to happen on the call to

Hope this helps.

Several vulnerabilities have been reported in VirtualBox. Details are scarce, so
please get in touch with upstream for more information on eventual backports
to oldstable/stable. Judging from the CVSS scores this is likely only local
denial of service, in that case we likely don't need a DSA.

CVE-2013-5892
CVE-2014-0407
CVE-2014-0406
CVE-2014-0404

In addition CVE-2014-0405 seems to affect virtualbox-guest-additions-iso from
non-free

Package: slim
Version: 1.3.4-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

when attempting to login with slim 1.3.4-2, the login screen keeps
hanging after entering the correct username/password. An attached
strace offered an error message I did not find in any other log file:

*** Error in `/usr/bin/slim': malloc(): memory corruption:
0x01793fe0 ***

Downgrading to 1.3.1-8, the login is working as expected.

Kind regards,
Nicolas

This is an "Arch: all" package, and as far as I'm aware there's (a) no way of
specifying which architectures such a package can build on (i386 only for
now in this case), and (b) no requirement for such packages to build on
amd64.

I'm leaving the bug open because I'd like to get it building on amd64
(without an i386 multi-arch cross-build-dependency), although that is
currently not supported by upstream.

2014-02-10 Thread Bastian Blank
I see this problem clearly in the shipped binaries:

| public class com.google.inject.internal.asm.$ClassWriter extends
com.google.inject.internal.asm.$ClassVisitor {
| public final void visit(int, int, java.lang.String, java.lang.String,
java.lang.String, java.lang.String[]);
| }

However this definition is _not_ in the current sources, so we have no
source for this binary package in the repository.

I'm surprised this is not already filed, but it seems like it should be.
krb5-sync is failing tests (and thus builds) on the above listed
architectures.

Thank you for the report! For some reason, I didn't get, or didn't see,
the automated FTBFS notifications from the buildds.

This was a timing problem with one of the test cases combined with a
coding error. I've relaxed the expected timing, and 3.0-3 appears to have
fixed the issue.

Package: fcitx-mozc

Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

fcitx suddenly stopped working and committed suicide ;-)
(ERROR-7241 /build/fcitx-Z_BmR4/fcitx-4.2.8.3/src/lib/fcitx/ime.c:303) IM: open
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/fcitx/fcitx-mozc.so fail

Seems that some re-compilation or so is needed.

Thanks for your work on this great piece!

I'm seeing the same; Downgrading to 3.1.1-1 gets Maven working again.

Bug#738583: libcglib-java - Uses jarjar without proper copyright or Built-Using

2014-02-10 Thread Bastian Blank
Package: libcglib-java
Version: 2.2.2+dfsg-5
Severity: serious

libcglib-java uses jarjar to incoporate libasm3-java. It does this
without mentioning the license of the incorporated stuff or even listing
it as Built-Using.

Bug#738137: [Debichem-devel] Bug#738137: libpwiz: FTBFS on mips*: virtual memory exhausted

2014-02-10 Thread Filippo Rusconi

Greetings, Andreas,

thanks for the bug report.

On Sat, Feb 08, 2014 at 01:13:37AM +0100, Andreas Beckmann wrote:

Hi,

your package failed to build on mips and mipsel:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libpwiz

with

virtual memory exhausted: Cannot allocate memory
make[2]: *** [pwiz/data/identdata/IdentData.lo] Error 1

Maybe disabling parallel builds on mips* could help.

I am planning to put this in debian/rules on top of all the targets:

ifeq ("mips-linux-gnu",$(DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE))
.NOTPARALLEL:
endif

Do you think that this might work? I mean, are the mips systems
characterized by this string: "mips-linux-gnu"

Same for "mipsel-linux-gnu"?

Thank you for your help,

Ciao
Filippo

Bug#738580: libsisu-guice-java - Incorporates other binaries without Built-Using

2014-02-10 Thread Bastian Blank
Package: libsisu-guice-java
Version: 3.1.9+dfsg-1
Severity: serious

libsisu-guice-java incorporates external binaries (libcglib-java for
example) without reason and even lacks the Built-Using field. Also this
means the copyright file in the resulting binary is wrong, it does not
list the incorporated stuff.

After installing libresiprocate-1.9 from sid, it works fine. I reckon it
should depend on something like libresiprocate-1.9 (= ${binary:Version})
unless the ABI is declared stable now.

These ABI problems have occurred through the beta and release candidate
tarballs

The 1.9.0 tarball has been prepared now and is undergoing final checks.
Proper release tarballs (without ~rc or ~beta in the name) will have
ABI stability.

I've added the stricter binary version requirement for new uploads
anyway though, as it will help people keep all the related packages in
sync and consistent with what upstream can support.--- End Message ---

Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

Here is the content of the tryton-proteus package:

/.
/usr
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/README.Debian

/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/copyright

/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/examples/README
/usr/share/man
/usr/share/man/man1
/usr/share/man/man1/proteus.1.gz

I would expect the package to contain the proteus modules as
advertised by the package description.

I guess a .install file is missing the debian directory. I am
only starting to familiarize myself with pybuild; so I am not
100% sure this is the solution.

Regards,

As far as I can see, CVE-2011-3935 [1] applies to libav-tools. As the
descriptions for the problem are bit low on information I use a high
severity - feel free to lower it if that is not appropriate. A fix for
ffmpeg is at [2].

Bug#738567: uses futimens, which is supported only on linux-any

2014-02-10 Thread Petr Salinger

Package: apt
Version: 0.9.15.1
Severity: serious
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: kfreebsd

The apt 0.9.15.1 started to use futimens instead of previous utime.

The futimens() is not supported on kfreebsd.
The kfreebsd does have:

int utime(const char *filename, const struct utimbuf *times);
int utimes(const char *filename, const struct timeval times[2]);
int futimes(int fd, const struct timeval tv[2]);

but it does not have

int futimens(int fd, const struct timespec times[2]);

We cannot directly provide futimens in user space only,
as it have to also support special values like UTIME_NOW and UTIME_OMIT.

The hurd is also affected, see
https://lists.debian.org/debian-hurd/2014/02/msg00026.html

Please could you switch to futimes() ?
It seems that the subsecond part is set to zero in all apt cases,
so there is no difference between nanosecond and microsecond precision at all.

The futimes() is currently supported (at least) on linux, kfreebsd, hurd.

Thanks in advance

Petr

Bug#738565: tryton-proteus: Python module is missing, package contains only documentation and man page.

2014-02-10 Thread Nicolas CANIART
Package: tryton-proteus
Version: 3.0.0-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

Here is the content of the tryton-proteus package:

/.
/usr
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/README.Debian
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/changelog.gz
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/copyright
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/examples
/usr/share/doc/tryton-proteus/examples/README
/usr/share/man
/usr/share/man/man1
/usr/share/man/man1/proteus.1.gz

I would expect the package to contain the proteus modules as
advertised by the package description.

I guess a .install file is missing the debian directory. I am
only starting to familiarize myself with pybuild; so I am not
100% sure this is the solution.

Regards,

Bug#738560: xul-ext-certificatepatrol: Broken by [DSA 2858-1] iceweasel security update in stable

2014-02-10 Thread Christoph Biedl
Package: xul-ext-certificatepatrol
Version: 2.0.14-3
Severity: grave

Just a heads-up,

today's update of iceweasel in stable aka wheezy breaks
xul-ext-certificatepatrol for nothing but the version number limit.
I'll try to have that issue resolved ASAP, nevertheless this might
take a few days.

For the time being I suggest installing 2.0.14-4 from testing/sid
aka jessie/sid, this lifts the version number limit without any other
change.

Sorry for the mess, this should not happen again within this century.

Christoph

Thanks for the bug report.

According to "apt-file search ecrm1095" on Sid and Wheezy, it seems as
if ecrm1095 moved from texlive-latex-recommended to
texlive-latex-recommended:

texlive-fonts-recommended:
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/source/jknappen/ec/ecrm1095.mf
texlive-fonts-recommended:
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/tfm/jknappen/ec/ecrm1095.tfm
texlive-latex-recommended:
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/source/jknappen/ec/ecrm1095.mf
texlive-latex-recommended:
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/tfm/jknappen/ec/ecrm1095.tfm

I didn't yet spot the according changelog entry, but since there was
only one upload of texlive-base since the upload of 5.0.5-1, it must
have been this upload:

texlive-base (2013.20140123-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * new upstream checkout
  * t-pictures: changes wish -> tk (Closes: #732784)

Bug#738537: Packages's debian/copyright file incomplete, package contains non-DFSG files

Dear maintainer,

while packaging Caja from the MATE Desktop project for Debian, I
stumbled over a
severe issue with the debian/copyright file of nautilus and its
upstream tarball.

(1) the debian/copyright file is incomplete. Several LGPL-2+ files from the
upstream tarball (libnautilus-extension1a package) are not covered by
debian/copyright.

This needs updating.

Feel free to re-use parts of my current effort on Caja's debian/copyright [1].

(2) the upstream source tarball contains a COPYING-DOCS file (containing a
version of the GNU FDL-1.1+ license). This file probably relates to
the docs/
folder in the upstream tarball (it is not quite clear). These files
should not
be in Debian as the GNU FDL-1.1+ is not considered as a DFSG
compliant license

by the Debian project [1].

This file is a leftover for the help/ subdir that was present in nautilus
pre-2.0 (e.g. nautilus 1.1.1). Those were released under the GFDL. Nothing is
licensed under the GFDL anymore so this is fine. In any case, even
if something
was released under the GFDL, it would have to specify any Invariant
Section for

it to be considered non-free. There are no mentions of invariant sections so
we're fine. I'll ask upstream to remove that file from the repo.

That is good news! Thanks for clearing this up!

Mike

I think I found the fix, see

If I can confirm that this is enough to solve the crash we'll update
the 2.2.x series with it.

Attached patch hasn't been tested, yet.
The trigger stuff can be simplified :-)
And no need to distinguish different triggers until you need to.

You need to activate the trigger also by installing the package
providing the trigger either with an explicit dpkg-trigger in the
postinst or by just running the trigger in in the postinst.

If qgis-providers-common triggers something that is not being awaited
for (because qgis-providers is not yet unpackaged or configured), the
trigger is lost (well, it triggered nothing, so nothing to do).

> Using a file based trigger on the srs.db may be an option, then we'll
No need to, and if the directory is rather dynamic, not a good idea.

Bug#738542: loses messages when clients are unreachable

2014-02-10 Thread martin f krafft
Package: ejabberd
Version: 2.1.5-3+squeeze2
Severity: grave

We are migrating our XMPP infrastructure away from ejabberd, but
it'd be not very nice not to let you know:

With mobile clients, such as Xabber on Android, we've seen plenty of
cases of ejabberd losing messages. What seems to happen is that the
mobile client loses connectivity (effectively going offline without
telling the server). If the server now receives a message for the
client, it seems to blindly forward it without waiting for
acknowledgement. When the mobile client connects the next time, it
won't get the message as the server deems it delivered and hence
did not queue it for later delivery.

I don't really have any more information or logs or traces, sorry.
But I am sure this can be easily reproduced.

Hi Debian RRDtool Team,

As you may know, during the Wheezy release cycle, the pkg-ruby-extras
team¹ has worked to update the Ruby libraries/modules/gems packages to
follow a new policy, much easier for the maintainers (as we no longer
require a separate package for each interpreter version), to the
archive (as it strongly reduces code duplication), and much more
sensical to the users (as they no longer require to fiddle with which
among many almost-identical binary packages to install).

While we achieved a quite good success level during the Wheezy cycle²,
we decided to act only on the packages maintained by the group — There
are many Ruby library packages maintained by kind people (like
yourself!) which have not yet adopted this new style. According to our
records, you are currently maintaining the package:

  librrd-ruby

I am sending this report as part of a mass-bug-filing.³ Some useful
information you might find useful:

• Guidelines for Ruby packaging⁴

• Ruby team release goals for Jessie⁵

• About the Ruby team — Please consider joining!⁶

• Part of the new policy involves running the package's tests. Here is
a swift introduction on what it means and how to do it:

Bug#738537: Packages's debian/copyright file incomplete, package contains non-DFSG files

2014-02-10 Thread Mike Gabriel

Package: nautilus
Version: 3.8.2-2
Severity: serious

Dear maintainer,

while packaging Caja from the MATE Desktop project for Debian, I
stumbled over a severe issue with the debian/copyright file of
nautilus and its upstream tarball.

(1) the debian/copyright file is incomplete. Several LGPL-2+ files
from the upstream tarball (libnautilus-extension1a package) are not
covered by debian/copyright.

(2) the upstream source tarball contains a COPYING-DOCS file
(containing a version of the GNU FDL-1.1+ license). This file probably
relates to the docs/ folder in the upstream tarball (it is not quite
clear). These files should not be in Debian as the GNU FDL-1.1+ is not
considered as a DFSG compliant license by the Debian project [1].

For Caja the solutions are:

(for 1) provide a detailled license file, compliant to DEP-5 proposal
(for 2) drop nearly all files found in the docs/ folder (except man pages)

light+love,
Mike

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on

Maybe you need to add explicitly the offending lib to LD flags.

The CVEs should be fixed in upstream version 0.3.6 for which I've
prepared a package (just submitted to my usual sponsor)

I'm working on backporting the fixes to the 0.3.0 version in stable
