Bug#745794: chromium: Missing build dependency on `libkrb5-dev` causes build errors and preventing Chromium 34 to enter unstable for i386

2014-04-24 Thread Paul Menzel
Package: chromium
Version: 34.0.1847.116-2
Severity: grave

Dear Debian folks,

in Debian Sid/unstable with the architecture i386, Chromium is still at
version 33 instead of 34 as for the architecture amd64.

This is due to a build error on i386 [1].

Bug#744174: fixed in mpd 0.18.10-2

2014-04-24 Thread Matthew Todd
To whom it may concern,

For those who stumble upon this issue and are trying to fix it on their system,
I found that I still had the issue even with 0.18.10-2 installed. In
particular, running "sudo chkconfig mpd on" returned:
insserv: warning: current start runlevel(s) (empty) of script `mpd'
overrides LSB defaults (2 3 4 5).
insserv: warning: current stop runlevel(s) (0 1 2 3 4 5 6) of script `mpd'
overrides LSB defaults (0 1 6).

And running the find command from upthread (find /etc/rc* -name '*mpd*') still
returned:
/etc/rc0.d/K02mpd
/etc/rc1.d/K02mpd
/etc/rc2.d/K02mpd
/etc/rc3.d/K02mpd
/etc/rc4.d/K02mpd
/etc/rc5.d/K02mpd
/etc/rc6.d/K02mpd

The solution I found was to delete these K02mpd files (sudo rm
/etc/rc*.d/K02mpd) and then reinstall the package with "sudo apt-get install
--reinstall mpd". The reinstall indicated that it setup the S05mpd files then
and chkconfig automatically reported mpd was set to run on boot without
anyfurther intervention.

I hope this is useful.

Thanks,
Matthew Todd

Bug#744330: groovy: makes xbmc FTBFS

2014-04-24 Thread Miguel Landaeta
I suspect the recent breakage in groovy could be caused by
changes in libjarjar-java since that tool is used to manipulate
groovy-all jar and had a new upstream release in the archive after
wheezy release.

I'll continue debugging this later.

Bug#744330: groovy: makes xbmc FTBFS

2014-04-24 Thread Miguel Landaeta
Hi Bálint,

Can you retry your xbmc build on unstable changing the classpath used
with groovy command?

I'm able to reproduce errors like yours when I include groovy-all.jar
in the classpath but not when I use groovy.jar.

Examples:

miguel@nina:~/packages/gradle/gradle-1.4$ groovy -cp
"/usr/share/java/groovy-1.8.6.jar" -e 'println 1'
1

miguel@nina:~/packages/gradle/gradle-1.4$ groovy -cp

It seems the failure is somewhat intermittent. I had a successful

So, it looks like I will need to try grab the log from the chroot

ruby2.1 is shipped without config.sub and config.guess and then these are
insecurely downloaded during configure. It would be much better just to use
the ones shipped with autotools-dev. Patch attached.

Bug#745683: heimdal: FTBFS on hppa -- check-iprop test fails

It seems the failure is somewhat intermittent. I had a successful
build outside buildd last night.
So, it looks like I will need to try grab the log from the chroot
before it is purged.

Bug#745233: libhogweed2: should have versioned depend on newer libgmp10

2014-04-24 Thread Magnus Holmgren

Once the symbols file is in place, maintaining it shouldn't require very much
effort. As I explained, dpkg-gensymbols, which is run by dh_makeshlibs, tells
you about any symbol changes when you build the package. You merely have to
apply the generated diff to the symbols file and adjust the minium required
version appropriately, making the procedure more automated compared to
manually checking when the dependencies have to change. Running simply
"dh_makeshlibs -V" should be avoided as will result in unnecessarily tight
dependencies and therefore may delay testing transitioning.

petsc FTBFS on s390x. This is essentially due to the MPICH2->MPICH3 transition,
which broke scalapack on s390x. See #740620 for more details.

Once scalapack is fixed, a sourceful upload of petsc will be needed which
includes commit a904239.

If you ask me, we should just patch that "feature" out and ship nrpe without

Bug#745716: libpolarssl-dev: /usr/lib/libpolarssl.so still points to libpolarssl.so.5

2014-04-24 Thread Sebastian Ramacher
Source: libpolarssl-dev
Version: 1.3.6-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders the package unusable
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: adequate
Control: affects -1 belle-sip

After the SONAME bump, /usr/lib/libpolarssl.so still points to the old library:

# file /usr/lib/libpolarssl.so
/usr/lib/libpolarssl.so: broken symbolic link to `libpolarssl.so.5'

libpolarssl.so needs to point to libpolarssl.so.6. This bug makes it impossible
to dynamically link against polarssl and thus renders the package unusable. It
also makes belle-sip FTBFS. galting and pdns will link polarssl statically
instead.

Bug#745677: found it

2014-04-24 Thread Dennis van Dok
I found the cause of the failure. It is due to the glob in the
remove_leftover_crls function. If the glob does not match any files
(which is most likely the case on new installations), the loop variable
contains an asterisk and the expansion of ${i%.*} will list all files in
that directory.

The globbing behaviour of sh is truly hairy. I'll have to find a way to
see if the directory contains any .r0 files at all, and all the examples
I find are pretty ugly.

A temporary workaround is to install and run fetch-crl, which will
populate the directory with r0 files.

I don't get why debsums should care about obsolete conffiles? (Assuming they
are marked as obsolete in /var/lib/dpkg/status...) - could you please explain?

I'd really like to see #744398, it's currently severly affecting piuparts.d.o
testing of sid, testing2sid and some other suites. (Which I only can easily
"workaround" by disabling debsums tests there..)

(Im also unsure whether to merge #689508 and #744398, currently I leave them
seperated to keep some more clarity.)

Oh, and btw, should we formally orphan debsums?

This is on a freshly debootstrapped sid system, the .bak file is from directly
after running deboostrap, the .sid file is from directly after running
dist-upgrade for the first time...

# cp /etc/init/startpar-bridge.conf.bak /etc/init/startpar-bridge.conf
# debsums -e startpar
/etc/init/startpar-bridge.confFAILED
# debsums -e sysvinit-utils

Are you sure the loop is infinite and kmail is not just checking
folder
after folder? (not that it wouldn't be a bad idea to cache the
decision

for the user/host/port triplet).

I do not know why it seems to loop. I set a refresh delay of 5 minutes,
but the dialog comes back within less than a second, again and again...

Ahhh - thanks for opening my eyes: What puzzled me wasn't the tiny
frasction you now reflect on, but instead that I had misread the
upstream declaration as "<<1.9".
