Bug#748848: byzanz: does not work at all: Error during recording: no element appsrc
Hello, I have filed a bug report against libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 to find out whether this gstreamer library should at least depend on gstreamer1.0-plugins-base. https://bugs.debian.org/749153 In the meantime I think Byzanz must depend on gstreamer1.0-plugins-base, gstreamer1.0-plugins-good and gstreamer1.0-libav to resolve this bug. I am going to prepare a fix for this soonish. Regards, Markus signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Bug#737396: kscreensaver: locked screen allows any password if a third session (vt9) is also active
tags 737396 + moreinfo stop Hi Lajos, I have been unable to reproduce this bug with the current versions of kscreensaver in wheezy (4:4.8.4-5) and jessie (4:4.12.4-1). Please could you advise the following to help reproduce the problem: * Are all of VT sessions logged in as different users? * Are there any errors in /var/log/auth.log ? * Are there any errors in ~/.xsession-errors ? * What authentication type is PAM using (e.g. shadow, ldap, krb5) ? * What is the result of the following command on the different VTs with an invalid password: /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kcheckpass; echo $? Bug#749215: TYPO3-CORE-SA-2014-001: Multiple Vulnerabilities in TYPO3 CMS
Package: typo3-src Severity: critical Tags: security It has been discovered that TYPO3 CMS is vulnerable to Cross-Site Scripting, Insecure Unserialize, Improper Session Invalidation, Authentication Bypass, Information Disclosure and Host Spoofing. Component Type: TYPO3 CMS Overall Severity: Medium Release Date: May 22, 2014 Vulnerability Type: Host Spoofing Affected Versions: Versions 4.5.0 to 4.5.33, 4.7.0 to 4.7.18, 6.0.0 to 6.0.13, 6.1.0 to 6.1.8 and 6.2.0 to 6.2.2 Severity: Medium CVE: not assigned yet Problem Description: Failing to properly validate the HTTP host-header TYPO3 CMS is susceptible to host spoofing. TYPO3 uses the HTTP host-header to generate absolute URLs in several places like 404 handling, http(s) enforcement, password reset links and many more. Since the host header itself is provided by the client it can be forged to any value, even in a name based virtual hosts environment. A blog post describes this problem in great detail. Vulnerable subcomponent: Color Picker Wizard Vulnerability Type: Insecure Unserialize Affected Versions: Versions 4.5.0 to 4.5.33, 4.7.0 to 4.7.18, 6.0.0 to 6.0.13 and 6.1.0 to 6.1.8 Severity: Low CVE: not assigned yet Problem Description: Failing to validate authenticity of a passed serialized string, the color picker wizard is susceptible to insecure unserialize, allowing authenticated editors to unserialize arbitrary PHP objects. Vulnerable subcomponent: Backend Vulnerability Type: Cross-Site Scripting Affected Versions: Versions 4.5.0 to 4.5.33, 4.7.0 to 4.7.18, 6.0.0 to 6.0.13, 6.1.0 to 6.1.8 and 6.2.0 to 6.2.2 Severity: Low CVE: not assigned yet Problem Description: Failing to properly encode user input, several backend components are susceptible to Cross-Site Scripting, allowing authenticated editors to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript by crafting URL parameters. Vulnerable subcomponent: ExtJS Vulnerability Type: Cross-Site Scripting Affected Versions: Versions 4.5.0 to 4.5.33, 4.7.0 to 4.7.18, 6.0.0 to 6.0.13, 6.1.0 to 6.1.8 and 6.2.0 to 6.2.2 Severity: Medium CVE: not assigned yet Problem Description: The ExtJS JavaScript framework that is shipped with TYPO3 also delivers a flash file to show charts. This file is susceptible to Cross-Site Scripting. This vulnerability can be exploited without any authentication. Vulnerable subcomponent: Authentication Vulnerability Type: Authentication Bypass Affected Versions: All TYPO3 versions not configured to use salted passwords Severity: medium CVE: not assigned yet Problem Description: When the use of salted password is disabled (which is enabled by default since TYPO3 4.6 and required since TYPO3 6.2) passwords for backend access are stored as md5 hash in the database. This hash (e.g. taken from a successful SQL injection) can be used directly to authenticate backend users without knowing or reverse engineering the password. -- MfG, Christian Welzel GPG-Key: pub 4096R/5117E119 2011-09-19 Fingerprint: 3688 337C 0D3E 3725 94EC E401 8D52 CDE9 5117 E119 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. -- MfG, Christian Welzel GPG-Key: pub 4096R/5117E119 2011-09-19 Fingerprint: 3688 337C 0D3E 3725 94EC E401 8D52 CDE9 5117 E119 ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: typo3-src Source-Version: 4.5.34+dfsg1-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of typo3-src, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Bug#746034: chromium depends on non-existent (in testing) libudev0
Source: chromium Version: 34.0.1847.137-1~deb7u1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, I'm on testing. quote src=cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/* # Norwegian national repository: deb ftp://ftp.no.debian.org/debian/ testing main non-free contrib deb-src ftp://ftp.no.debian.org/debian/ testing main non-free contrib deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib /quote In aptitude, when I select chromium, it's an instant conflict due to its dependency on libudev0 = 146, which is not available. I am consequently unable to install chromium in testing. This is particularly irksome due to the reason I uninstalled it to begin with: I had, some months ago, experienced persistent conflicts between chromium-browser and chromium-inspector; nothing I tried would resolve this, for several weeks; eventually, I'd tried uninstalling both and reinstalling the browser, which worked (and pulled in the inspector, without any apparent problem). I got similar conflicts this morning so did the same, only to find I got this different conflict instead on reinstall. At the time, a version of libudev0 was in fact listed, as deleted but with some config files remaining; it had been deleted when I uninstalled chromium, which was the only package depending on it. Unfortunately, trying to select it for installation was ignored by the aptitude UI. Once I'd purged it (to clear the config files) it was no longer listed; it's apparently not present in testing. So, if I hadn't uninstalled chromium, I'd have had a perfectly good libudev0 lying around that I could have continued using. Unfortunately, chromium's internal conflicts had left me little option but to uninstall it. Fortunately, stable still has a libudev0 with a high enough version, so manually downloading and dpkg -i-ing that works round the problem, enabling me once more to install chromium-browser (and get the whole pile of other chromium stuff I don't want chucked in with it). ... hmm ... and, on doing that, I see apt-listbugs reports exactly this problem, so why didn't reportbug tell me about it ? Possibly something to do with the fact that the package isn't installed ... so I'll post as a follow-up instead of adding another duplicate. Somewhere at the bottom of all of this is a basic error in dependencies among the chromium family of packages: I only actually want the chromium-browser package, but it depends on chromium, which depends on chromium-inspector, which I don't want or need. But for that, I'd not have hit the conflict that forced me to uninstall and left me in a broken state. As long as the chromium package is going to depend on chromium-inspector, i.e. be a top-level package to pull in the whole chromium suite, it should surely also depend on chromium-browser, not the other way around. If there are common packages that the diverse chromium-* programs all depend on, e.g. libudev, then there should be a chromium-common package on which they all depend, with chromium depending on the high-level packages, not depending on the low-level things they need so that chromium-browser has to depend on that in order to get everything and the kitchen sink along with the libraries it needs. I should be able to install the browser without the ancillary tools that aren't actually needed in order to run the browser. Sure, it's good to encourage web designers to actually check what they produce, but that's no reason to burden the browser with an extraneous Depends - it should at most be a Recommends. Until this is fixed (given that there's a FTBFS problem on 32-bit delaying that), how about persuading the libudev maintainers to restore libudev0 in testing ? *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. From upstream bug: http://public.kitware.com/Bug/view.php?id=14156 Dmitrijs Ledkovs (Debian): It has proven too much work to have pyconfig.h in an multiarch location. Therefore, pyconfig.h was re-introduced in an non-multiarch location. Instead it is a compatibility header that using compiler macros includes the correct pyconfig.h from a multiarch location. Bug#746058: sqlite: FTBFS: /bin/sh: 1: tclsh: not found
tags 746058 +patch thanks the unversioned tclsh binary is no longer supplied by tcl-version packages, only by the tcl package (from source tcltk-defaults) hence this failure. I first tried building with the tcl package installed but that failed with a segfault which I put down to version mismatches (admittedly this was in an arm64 qemu chroot so ymmv). I looked at patching the upstream source but it looked pretty involved. So I then took the approach of creating a directory under the build tree with a tclsh symlink in it pointing at the system's tclsh8.5 binary. While I was there I also fixed an issue with incomplete cleanup in the clean target that I ran into. Debdiff attatched and uploaded to debian-ports arm64. No immediate intent to NMU in debian proper. diff -Nru sqlite-2.8.17/debian/changelog sqlite-2.8.17/debian/changelog --- sqlite-2.8.17/debian/changelog 2014-01-06 15:20:30.0 + +++ sqlite-2.8.17/debian/changelog 2014-05-25 22:38:51.0 +0100 @@ -1,3 +1,10 @@ +sqlite (2.8.17-10+arm64) unreleased; urgency=medium + + * Add code in debian/rules to make build use appropriate tclsh. + * Fix clean target. + + -- Peter Michael Green plugw...@debian.org Sun, 25 May 2014 21:31:36 + + sqlite (2.8.17-10) unstable; urgency=low * Update Standards-Version to 3.9.5 . diff -Nru sqlite-2.8.17/debian/rules sqlite-2.8.17/debian/rules --- sqlite-2.8.17/debian/rules 2014-01-06 15:12:07.0 + +++ sqlite-2.8.17/debian/rules 2014-05-25 22:51:49.0 +0100 @@ -4,6 +4,8 @@ # Uncomment this to turn on verbose mode. #export DH_VERBOSE=1 +export PATH:=$(CURDIR)/bin:$(PATH) + CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS = config_TARGET_TCL_INC=-I/usr/include/tcl8.5 \ config_BUILD_CFLAGS=$(CFLAGS) -DTHREADSAFE=1 \ config_TARGET_LIBS=-ltcl8.5 -lpthread \ @@ -12,8 +14,12 @@ override_dh_clean: dh_autotools-dev_restoreconfig dh_clean + rm -rf bin + rm -f index.html override_dh_auto_configure: + mkdir bin + ln -s $(shell which tclsh8.5) bin/tclsh dh_autotools-dev_updateconfig dh_auto_configure -- $(CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS)

Bug#738849: Please enable webview support for wx3.0
On Sun, May 25, 2014 at 09:17:51AM +0100, Gianfranco LocutusOfBorg Costamagna wrote: Hi dear Olly, Il Sabato 24 Maggio 2014 15:31, Olly Betts o...@survex.com ha scritto: I've just discovered an annoying consequence of this change. If you now install libwxgtk3.0-dev and ask for libraries to link with, you get: $ wx-config --libs -L/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu -pthread -lwx_gtk2u_xrc-3.0 -lwx_gtk2u_webview-3.0 -lwx_gtk2u_html-3.0 -lwx_gtk2u_qa-3.0 -lwx_gtk2u_adv-3.0 -lwx_gtk2u_core-3.0 -lwx_baseu_xml-3.0 -lwx_baseu_net-3.0 -lwx_baseu-3.0 Note that this includes -lwx_gtk2u_webview-3.0, but that's not installed, so linking fails. The same thing happens if you ask for an explicit list of libraries and include std in that list. This is pretty serious as it's likely to cause packages to FTBFS. Some options I can see for fixing this and their downsides: * Make libwxgtk3.0-dev depend on libwxgtk-webview3.0-dev - this would pull in libwxgtk-webview3.0-0 and hence webkit for such builds; it may also sometimes end up with webkit getting unnecessarily included as a runtime dependency, for packages which don't link with -Wl,--as-needed. This seems ugly, at least on debian (no changes on ubuntu, I wonder if debian will ever se them as default) It's ugly even without the --as-needed issue as it bloats the BDs for every package building with wx GUI libraries which doesn't use wxWebView (which is likely to be most of them). * Update all packages to explicitly request the wx component libraries they actually need - significant fiddly work, but perhaps the way forwards. This seems to require a lot of uploads... Probably - only packages which explicitly list the component libraries they need (and don't ask for std) will continue to work. * Alter the meaning of std in wx-config - makes it behave differently on Debian to elsewhere. This is something I didn't understand correctly, but I think I did something similar So wx-config --libs will output the flags needed to link particular component libraries. You can optionally provide a list of them, which can include std. If there's no list, the default list of just std is assumed. Without webview enabled (i.e. in 3.0.0-2), std expands to: xrc html qa adv core xml net base With webview enabled (i.e. in 3.0.0-3), std expands to: xrc webview html qa adv core xml net base Note that this doesn't include all component libraries (e.g. media isn't included, you have to request that explicitly), so my idea was just to move webview to the same status as media. The issue with this is that wx-config is then incompatible for applications which use wxWebView, though applications can just use --libs std,webview to work with both. It seems unhelpful for libraries which aren't enabled if you build wxWidgets from source with the default --enable and --with option to be in std. So I think this might be a fix to suggest to upstream (wxWebView is new, so making this change in 3.0.1 might be viewed as reasonable). I'm attaching a little patch I did to make wx-webview behave a more little closer than wx-media... However I'm stuck with a little problem: how can I use wx-config to export wx-media libraries? wx-config --libs std,media (As noted above, media isn't in std). I think we can make it return wx-webview only if the library is found on the system, with this patch I made webview optional, next step is to understand how wx-config really works (I fall asleep before understanding it completely). That's an interesting idea. It means that wx-config behaves compatibly to a build without webview enabled if libwx-webview3.0-dev isn't installed, which is less surprising. I see wx-config already have some loops inside looking for libraries on the system, my approach will return the flags only if found on the system, and since this webview is marked as mandatory but seems optional I think we can push this patch also upstream. wx-config is generated at configure time (from wx-config.in), and if you don't enable webview, then wx-config won't have it in its list of libraries to expand std to. So such a patch wouldn't really make sense for upstream, as they have a mechanism to handle this already for those building from source. Do you want to let this package reach testing? maybe reopening and reassignig the severity will prevent automatic rebuild failures... I did that, though I notice that it's not currently blocking transition as the found version is already in testing. I'll open a new bug in a moment. The issues regarding this are already being discussed in #738849, but we don't want this migrating to testing, so opening this bug to prevent that from happening. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.13-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_NZ.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_NZ.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. However, we have in sid/amd64 now libecore 1.8.5-2 . In fact, libecore is now provided by the efl source package, so the way how this dependency is generated in the ecore package has probably to be adapted.
