Well, if you can pursuade the release team. We have grub2 for Xen
in Jessie now and it can be used on Wheezy as well.

Can you be more specific? If somebody is running a wheezy dom0 and
they install grub2 in their domU before rebooting it the first time,
they will not have this problem?

Yes, that would probably be the easiest solution. And I am inclined to
do just this, as I am not really fluent in C++.

But, I'd prefer if someone with more experience in C++ libraries could
chime in as a second (ne, third) Uploader and take care of that file at

Justification: renders package unusable

Hi, I noticed that dnscypt-proxy's init script contains a problematic line 63
in the init script ``/etc/init.d/dnscrypt-proxy``:

if [-x /sbin/resolvconf ]; then

It should be:

if [ -x /sbin/resolvconf ]; then

Otherwise the script fails to stop and restart the daemon.

Thanks!

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'squeeze' to 'wheezy' to 'jessie'.
It installed fine in 'squeeze', and upgraded to 'wheezy' successfully,
keeping the squeeze version installed since there was no xemacs in

I'm attaching upgrade logs from xemacs21-mule (which was successful) and
xemacs21-gnome-mule (which failed) even though xemacs21-gnome-mule seems
to be only a transitional package depending on xemacs21-mule.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'wheezy'.
It installed fine in 'wheezy', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

update-notifier-common is not part of jessie, but may survive the
upgrade from wheezy to jessie, and apt-config-auto-update is not part of
jessie either, but to ensure smooth upgrades wheezy-jessie-stretch, it
needs to add
  Breaks+Replaces: update-notifier-common
This would also be needed for backporting it to jessie-backports at some
point.

Bug#783346: patch for booting Jessie domU with wheezy dom0

2015-04-26 Thread Daniel Pocock
Package: xen-utils-4.1
Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u4
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

dom0 running wheezy

domU upgraded from wheezy to jessie. The domU doesn't boot any more,
errors:

Error code: Using class 'grub.GrubConf.Grub2ConfigFile' to parse
/grub/grub.cfg
Error parameters: Traceback (most recent call last):, File
/usr/lib/xcp/lib/pygrub.xcp, line 853, in module, raise
RuntimeError, Unable to find partition containing kernel,
RuntimeError: Unable to find partition containing kernel,

The attached one-line patch to dom0
/usr/lib/xen-4.1/lib/python/grub/GrubConf.py fixes the issue

This should probably be released in an update to wheezy.

Yes, that would probably be the easiest solution. And I am inclined to
do just this, as I am not really fluent in C++.

But, I'd prefer if someone with more experience in C++ libraries could
chime in as a second (ne, third) Uploader and take care of that file at

No worries, I'll do that. :)

Severity: grave

ganeti 2.12.0 lacks any verification that it is in master mode. This
leads to errors from all command line tools, the watcher and other
parts. This problem is most likely fixed with
b7b036723a65d20054425190e47d4dd82278e0e7

Please fix this in stable in time for 8.1.

Source: libgpars-groovy-java
Version: 1.2.1-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

I have just discovered that libgpars-groovy-java 1.2.1-1 in unstable fails
to build from source because one of its build-dependencies
libjsr166y-java (1.7.0-1) is missing in unstable. It seems it ought to
be uploaded to unstable at some time, but perhaps it is better to do
this after the freeze ends.

Regards,

Markus

Bug#783296: close #783296

2015-04-26 Thread Fabrice Aeschbacher

Dear maintainer,

  $ ldd /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/hpmudext.so | grep snmp
libnetsnmp.so.15 = not found

This was caused by two different versions of libhpmud.so.0 on my system (maybe
leftover from a previous manual installation):

 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libhpmud.so.0 (= has dependency on libnetsnmp.so.15)
 /usr/lib/libhpmud.so.0

After removing /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libhpmud.so.0, every hp-* command work
as expected.

= bug can be closed

Thank you and best regards,
Fabrice

I don't know. I did ask upstream about it in their bug #1565 [1] and
got the following response:

It is exported in XmI.h as many other internal functions so it's
symbol is seen in libXm.so library. But I can't bind it's scope to a
file to the symbol since it is called from different widget classes

they will not have this problem?

You install grub-xen-host on the dom0 and point the domains to grub as
kernel. For 64bit guests (kernel wise):

For 32bit guests:

php-mime-type is only used by extplorer (removed from testing over a

been filed upstream since the latest release without a reply, not sure
it’s still maintained).

Hi,

Raphaël (X-D-CC) requested this package (#678093) as a Tuleap
dependency, but tuleap is not in Debian (not even {IT,RF)P’ed AFAICT).

Thomas’ concerns raised over two years ago in the RFP are still valid
(upstream package is not maintained, and “the package is marked as
quality beta and there has been no upstream release since end of
2009”).

Furthermore, the package has a very low popcon.

So at this moment, that block hint is not going to be removed.

When will it be removed, if not now?

Previously Moritz Mühlenhoff wrote [1]:
After the jessie release a decision between libav and ffmpeg will need

How do you think this should go forward?

Package: rkhunter
Version: 1.4.2-0.4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the default rkhunter.conf includes the following line:

  SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/lwp-request

I don't have libwww-perl installed on serveral systems, so when
rkhunter is invoked, it fails with the following error message:

Invalid SCRIPTWHITELIST configuration option: Non-existent pathname:
/usr/bin/lwp-request

I think the default rkhunter.conf shouldn't cause rkhunter to fail when
an optional package - that rkhunter doesn't depend on - is not installed
in the system.

I had to comment out the SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/lwp-request to get
rkhunter running on the affected systems.

Thanks

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try

PS - was is not - what does that mean? Also the message doesn't say
which mount point is not valid so you can't fix it.

Bug#783390: pymodbus: Debian/copyright has wrong license

2015-04-26 Thread Scott Kitterman
Source: pymodbus
Version: 1.2.0-2
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 4.5

Dear Maintainer,

The debian/copyright file lists MIT as the upstream license, but the only
references in the code are to BSD. From setup.py in 1.2.0-2:

License :: OSI Approved :: BSD License

In the version in New that I'm reviewing for experimental, there are
additional references to BSD as well as the full text in doc/LICENSE.

Since this is a pre-existing issue with the package, I'm not rejecting due to
the issue, but it should be fixed ASAP. Additionally, pymodbus/__init__.py
says:

TwistedModbus is built on top of the code developed by:

Copyright (c) 2001-2005 S.W.A.C. GmbH, Germany.
Copyright (c) 2001-2005 S.W.A.C. Bohemia s.r.o., Czech Republic.
Hynek Petrak hy...@swac.cz

Released under the the BSD license

These should probably be mentioned in debian/copyright as well.

Bug#783392: appstream: Copy of GPLv3 not included in source tarball

2015-04-26 Thread Matthias Klumpp
2015-04-26 19:53 GMT+02:00 Scott Kitterman deb...@kitterman.com:
 Source: appstream
 Version: 0.7.3-1
 Severity: serious
 Justification: Policy 4.5

While reviewing this package in New, I discovered that the licensing of the
upstream source is incomplete. Three files are GPLv3 or later:

 contrib/dep11/dep11-validate.py
 data/cmake/documentation.cmake
 docs/prepare-docbuild.sh

While none of these files appear in the binary packages (so debian/copyright
isn't implicated), the upstream tarball does have to include all the licenses
to be properly distributable in Debian. The GPLv2 copy is not sufficient to
 cover GPLv3.

Since this is an issue with the existing package and not a new issue, I'm not
rejecting the package. Please coordinate with upstream and get this resolved.

Since I am upstream, you can consider this issue to be resolved ;-)
Looks like when we switched to GPLv2, some files were forgotten...
Thanks for this report!
Matthias

According to Marco on IRC those don't do much if at all on Debian, so

How do you configure your network? ifupdown, allow-hotpluto, auto?

network-online.target should actually be mostly functional if you use
ifupdown.

Hi,

boot-up. systemd reports:
| root@glenfiddich:~# systemctl status aiccu

TIC server tic.sixxs.net
| avril 26 17:34:18 glenfiddich.mraw.org aiccu[593]: Couldn't retrieve first
tunnel for the above reason, aborting

As can be seen in LSB headers, it depends on $network; which translates
(according to systemd-analyze dump) into dependencies on:
 - nss-lookup.target
 - network-online.target

According to Marco on IRC those don't do much if at all on Debian, so
I've added the following workaround, and tested a reboot successfully
(needed a single sleep of 1 second on this particular server). That
belongs to do_start, before the s-s-d calls:

# FIXME: Added by KiBi
server=$(awk '/^server/ {print $2}' /etc/aiccu.conf)
if [ -z $server ]; then
log_failure_msg AICCU has no configured server
exit 1;
fi
for i in $(seq 1 10); do
if nslookup $server /dev/null 21; then
# success!
break
else
if [ $i = 10 ]; then
log_failure_msg AICCU couldn't resolve $server
after $i tries, giving up
exit 1
else
log_warning_msg AICCU wouldn't resolve
$server, waiting $i seconds
sleep $i
fi
fi
done

I haven't butchered my server enough to simulate a permanent resolution
failure, but the exit 1 call should be straightforward enough to peer
review. ;)

Thanks for considering.

Mraw,
KiBi.

Control: severity -1 important

Michael Biebl bi...@debian.org (2015-04-26):
Can you post the output of
 systemctl status network.target network-online.target networking.service

A verbose journal dump (with systemd.log_level=debug) might be helpful
 as well.

There might be something fishy going on with the local bind9:
| root@glenfiddich:~# systemctl status network.target network-online.target
networking.service
| ● network.target - Network
|Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/network.target; static)

|Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/network-online.target; static)
|Active: active since dim. 2015-04-26 20:57:19 CEST; 38min ago
| Docs: man:systemd.special(7)
|
| ● networking.service - LSB: Raise network interfaces.
|Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/networking)
| Drop-In: /run/systemd/generator/networking.service.d
|└─50-insserv.conf-$network.conf
| /lib/systemd/system/networking.service.d
|└─network-pre.conf
|Active: active (exited) since dim. 2015-04-26 20:57:19 CEST; 38min ago
| Process: 328 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/networking start (code=exited,
status=0/SUCCESS)
|
| avril 26 20:57:19 glenfiddich.mraw.org networking[328]: Configuring network
interfaces...done.

so 20:57:19 = everything fine, while I have this in aiccu's log:
| avril 26 20:57:38 glenfiddich.mraw.org aiccu[529]: AICCU wouldn't resolve
tic.sixxs.net, waiting 1 seconds ... (warning).
| avril 26 20:57:39 glenfiddich.mraw.org aiccu[3029]: sock_getline() : 200
SixXS TIC Service on iedub02.sixxs.net ready (http://www.sixxs.net)

20 seconds after that, no resolution, and 1 second later that's OK.

Looking at the basically unconfigured bind9 server, it seems to fail at
resolving a bunch of things, see log below my signature.

Since the server's running normally for now, I might only experiment
without the local bind to see if there's any differences when applying
the next security upgrade. I'm therefore downgrading severity and
tagging moreinfo for the time being.

Mraw,
KiBi.

Bug#783392: appstream: Copy of GPLv3 not included in source tarball

2015-04-26 Thread Scott Kitterman
Source: appstream
Version: 0.7.3-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 4.5

While reviewing this package in New, I discovered that the licensing of the
upstream source is incomplete. Three files are GPLv3 or later:

contrib/dep11/dep11-validate.py
data/cmake/documentation.cmake
docs/prepare-docbuild.sh

While none of these files appear in the binary packages (so debian/copyright
isn't implicated), the upstream tarball does have to include all the licenses
to be properly distributable in Debian. The GPLv2 copy is not sufficient to
cover GPLv3.

Since this is an issue with the existing package and not a new issue, I'm not
rejecting the package. Please coordinate with upstream and get this resolved.

Scott K

Bug#783407: aiccu: fails to start at boot-up due to unresolvable server

2015-04-26 Thread Michael Biebl
Am 26.04.2015 um 21:24 schrieb Cyril Brulebois:
 Michael Biebl bi...@debian.org (2015-04-26):
How do you configure your network? ifupdown, allow-hotpluto, auto?

network-online.target should actually be mostly functional if you use
 ifupdown.

 # The loopback network interface
 auto lo
 iface lo inet loopback

 # The primary network interface
 allow-hotplug eth0
 iface eth0 inet dhcp

with ifupdown 0.7.53.1; the server is hosted in a datacenter and I don't
recall dhcp being particularly broken/slow (in case that'd matter).

Can you post the output of
systemctl status network.target network-online.target networking.service

A verbose journal dump (with systemd.log_level=debug) might be helpful
as well.

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#767465: (no subject)

2015-04-26 Thread Jorge Jonathan Moreno Zúñiga

Yes, this happens when installing from a USB drive, the installer
mounts it as a cd-rom and it gets added to your sources file, but once
your system gets installed the usb drive is never mounted (at least
automatically) on the same place, you can solve your problem by editing
your /etc/apt/sources.list file, comment out any line containing a
cd-rom by adding # on the front of it, make sure the online
repositories are not commented, then, do sudo apt-get update
and you should be able to install everything from the internet, you
won't be asked again for the cd

Bug#783438: Useless in Debian

2015-04-26 Thread David Prévot
Package: php-calendar
Version: 0.5.5-2
Severity: serious

[Filled as RC by a team member to see it autoremoved from testing if
nobody disagrees. Please, do downgrade it with an explanation if you
 disagree.]

php-calendar is a leaf package that has not been updated upstream in the
last five years (even a bug report filed two days after the last release
doesn’t have any follow up), not sure it’s still maintained.

Furthermore, the package has a very low popcon.

I intend to follow up with an RM request in a few months if nobody
objects (but feel free to beat me to it).

We are working on the stack and expect to be back in business in the
near future.

You can see our progress by looking through the public packaging
repositories [1], as well as keep up to date on the team's discussions
by subscribing to the team's mailing list [2], or reviewing the public
archives [3].

We also have a wiki page which sums up some information [4]

I'm surprised to see Jessie was released with so many packages
 missing.

Yes unfortunately pacemaker and friends missed the freeze-date for
Jessie, and there was nothing to be done at that point.
