Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'jessie'.
It installed fine in 'jessie', then the upgrade to 'stretch' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces

Thanks for watching over my shoulders. Upstream is going to release
VIPS 8.3.1 with bugfixes in the next few days. I'll update the
dependencies with that upload.

Bug#822976: gtk3-engines-unico: Package broken by GTK 3.16

2016-04-29 Thread James Lu
Hi,

Since newer GTK versions have already made it into the archive, does
that mean that this package no longer serves any purpose? From what I
can tell, GTK3 engines for Breeze and Xfce still exist elsewhere in the
archive: https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=gtk3-engines-

If this inevitably ends with Unico being removed, I guess I'm okay with
that too. What might be the best course of action here?

Best,
James

Bug#823005: pepperflashplugin-nonfree: Missing PGP key

2016-04-29 Thread Andreas Ferber
Package: pepperflashplugin-nonfree
Version: 1.8.1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

Google apparently started using a new PGP key, which leads to:

# update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install
ERROR: failed to retrieve status information from google : W: There is no
public key available for the following key IDs:
A040830F7FAC5991
More information might be available at:
  http://wiki.debian.org/PepperFlashPlayer

I tried updating to 1.8.2, no change.

Appending the new key to /usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/pubkey-google.txt
solves the problem for me. The old key seems to still be needed, since
with only the new key ih pubkey-google.txt I'm getting the same error
with a different key id.

Regards,
Andreas

Bug#746005: guile-2.0 migration

OK. Basically, there's no way that 2.18 will be fixed to work with Guile
2.0, but assuming that 2.20 gets released before stretch, this will be
workable.

Well, the shape that will be required is the release of a stable
lilypond release which supports guile. Hopefully soon.

Sure, but this won't fix the version of lilypond in unstable. [I at
least do not have the time to support a development release of lilypond
through the lifetime of a stable release.]

Are auto-removals from testing currently off? [Basically, I'd like to
avoid having lilypond removed from testing until we're closer to the
release if that's at all possible.]

Right, but they're still valid platforms that exist in the wild. We
already support (for example) installation on Bay Trail based machines
that use ia32 UEFI.

>Not sure for ARM, but it may have the same problems.

UEFI is more common on arm64, but there are some 32-bit ARM machines
that will boot with UEFI, and probably more coming. We've just turned
on more UEFI support in the armmp kernels for this reason.

It's problematic, but it exists and is growing in usage - we can't
just ignore it.

I don't see the problem - just build the appropriate binaries for each
of the architectures natively. Am I missing something?

I'm talking about .efi files. If your firmware (BIOS) is 64-bits, then
your executables can only use a 64-bits ABI for boot/runtime services.
IA32 EFI firmwares are only used by some low-end platforms, or some
embedded platforms (Intel Atom SoCs)

Not sure for ARM, but it may have the same problems.

I would like to, I'm just trying to find a solution that does not
involved cross-compilation :/ The source package builds both native
files, and .efi files.

Ummm, what? 32-bit i386 (ia32) should be supported just fine. If it's
not working, that's just a bug.

Please don't do that. There are *4* Debian Linux architectures that
should be able to work here: amd64, i386, arm64 and armhf.

Hi,

This specific bug is fixed in the upcoming upload (new upstream release
1.7.0)
However, a new problem appears:
ld: i386 architecture of input file `HelloWorld.o' is incompatible with
i386:x86-64 output

Indeed, on PC architectures, EFI executables are 64-bits EXE files.

I think the solution is to restrict the build to linux-amd64, and mark
the package as Multi-arch: foreign, however that would cover only the
embedded EFI files, not the tools to access UEFI variables.
That said, these tools use the efivars pseudo-filesystem and will only
work on Linux.

So, I think the next upload will restrict the package to linux-amd64 only.

Regards,
Pierre

Bug#806108: singular: FTBFS due to indep build failure

2016-04-29 Thread Jerome BENOIT
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

Hello,

I upgraded (again) because the then last package (4.0.3-p1+ds-1) was non-usable:
working on this issue was then my highest priority. I thought that I could
postpone this issue, but I was wrong (obviously).

Whatever, I fixed by forcing a complete build.
I am on my way to submit the new package *4.0.3-p1+ds-2).

Cheers,
Jerome

This is a result of gnat in unstable defaulting to gnat-6 [1] and
gnat-6 conflicting with gnat-4.9 and libgmpgada having both
gnat and gnat-4.9 in its build dependencies.

I assume this will affect many other packages which are still
build-depending on gnat-4.9 directly, so it might be a good
idea to look at all Ada packages in Debian.

Cheers,
Adrian

Bug#821686: [pkg-kolab] Bug#821686: Bug#821686: src:libkolab: PHP 7.0 Transition

2016-04-29 Thread Ondřej Surý
Hi Sandro,

I recently rewrote the packaging of external PECL module to a single
makefile snippet[1], but I guess this is probably usable only for pure
PECL modules.

Generally speaking:

echo 'extension=kolab.so' > debian/kolab.ini
echo 'mod debian/kolab.ini' > debian/php-kolab.php

install the kolab.so module to the correct place /usr/lib/php//

Using /usr/share/php/ for PHP code is fine.

and then have something like this in d/rules:

%:
dh $@ --with php

override_dh_php:
dh_php -p php-kolab

and build-depend on dh-php.

I can help you with that if you want after swig supports PHP 7.0, just
ping me.

1. http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-php/dh-php.git/tree/pkg-pecl.mk

^^^ This is more complicated than Debian really needs because I need
support for multiple PHP versions as I maintain PHP 5.5, 5.6 and 7.0 in
external-Debian and PPA repositories.

Cheers,

Source: insighttoolkit
Version: 3.20.1+git20120521-6
Severity: serious
Justification: breaks ABI without a package rename
Control: block -1 by 797738
Tags: sid stretch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: libstdc++-cxx11

Background[1]: libstdc++6 introduces a new ABI to conform to the
C++11 standard, but keeps the old ABI to not break existing binaries.
Packages which are built with g++-5 from experimental (not the one
from testing/unstable) are using the new ABI. Libraries built from
this source package export some of the new __cxx11 or B5cxx11 symbols,
dropping other symbols. If these symbols are part of the API of
the library, then this rebuild with g++-5 will trigger a transition
for the library.

In the case of insighttoolkit, std::string appears in installed headers,
so it seems very likely that a transition is needed.
The transition consists of renaming the affected library packages, adding a
v5 suffix (libinsighttoolkit3.20v5). The SONAME should not be changed.

These follow-up transitions for libstdc++ are not going through exactly
the normal transition procedure, because many entangled transitions are
going on at the same time, and the usual ordered transition procedure
does not scale that far. When all the C++ libraries on which this library
depends have started their transitions in unstable if required, this
library should do the same, closing this bug; the release team will deal
with binNMUs as needed.

In the case of insighttoolkit, vtk has started its transition already,
but gdcm has not (#797738), so you will have to wait for that.

The package is likely to be NMU'd if there is no maintainer response. The
release team have declared a 2 day NMU delay[2] for packages involved
in the libstdc++ transition, in order to get unstable back to a usable
state in a finite time.

Regards,
S

Cool, would have been helpful you have filed such RM...

FTR, itk is going to be removed pretty soon, as we managed to clear the
rdeps, as you read :)

don't close this bug until it's fixed, it'll be closed by the RM once
processed.
If you think this package needs to be removed file a RM. Since the only
rdep is insighttoolkit, that is also clear to be removed now, it's going
to be removed at the same time.

> Or will you just go ahead and remove cableswig and gccxml now?

you can't remove gccxml.
You filed a RM, but that's really not enough. A FTP master followed up
on the bug report, but you apparently ignored the email. All rdeps
needs to be cleared before the RM can proceed. That means that all the
bugs I filed (you can see the blocker on your RM) need to be closed.

Yes, but that only happened because I filed those bugs and I'm working
on them, I'd have actually expected you do that (at least the bug
filing, not the fixing them). I'm saying so, becuase that's true also
for other RMs of the past (like itk, indeed, where the bugs "itk is
going to be rmed, switch to itk4" have been filed by others).

For what concerns cableswig, please just ask the removal of the package,
then :)
Ahah, so easy fix :>

Thanks!

2016-04-29 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
control: tags -1 patch

Hi, I just successfully applied the upstream fix on Ubuntu and seems the
package now builds fine.

https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/commit/fc6559aa053317cda8ced657c3013a0d4c6549e9

please consider adding this to the debian package too.

cheers,

Gianfranco

Actually, cableswig should also be removed. It was only in the archive to
support the old insighttoolkit builds; but insighttoolkit is to be removed
c.f. #795019. Nothing else depends on cableswig -- see dak output, below.

What's your preferred workflow here? Shall I close this bug and open a removal
for cableswig? Or will you just go ahead and remove cableswig and gccxml now?
GCC-XML is dead upstream and my attempt at a wrapper around CastXML was not a
success so IMHO it's better to remove it sooner than later. Its other
dependencies have already switched to CastXML (e.g. pygccxml) or they will
soon or they are also dead.

Cheers,
-Steve

Bug#806108: singular: FTBFS when built with dpkg-buildpackage -A (No such file or directory)

2016-04-29 Thread Santiago Vila
severity 806108 important
thanks

Hi. I *really* appreciate that you consider this has a greater severity
than "important", but I prefer to keep it important for two reasons:

* I don't have the "blessing" (so to speak) from the release managers
to make these bugs RC yet.

* If this is serious, all the other similar bugs should be serious too.
Here is the complete list of similar bugs:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?tag=binary-indep;users=sanv...@debian.org

Well, those are my reasons, but of course if you insist that this must
be serious, go ahead. I promise that I will not downgrade it again,
otherwise it would be a very odd severity war indeed: Maintainer
raises severity and reporter downgrades it :-)

Thanks.

Source: uwsgi
Version: 2.0.12-5
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Hi,

uwsgi currently FTBFS in sid. It looks like it might have something to
do with recent changes in apache2, because uwsgi builds fine with
apache2-dev/2.4.18-2 installed, but FTBFS with apache2-dev/2.4.20-1
(currently in sid). Buildd logs show that uwsgi FTBFS after having
been binNMU-ed for the gloox transition, but uwsgi actually builds
fine with either version of gloox (1.0.13-3 or 1.0.15-2) as long as
the older version of apache2-dev is installed, so this FTBFS wasn't
caused by the gloox transition.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from

because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a

Bug#822937: samba: throws error on atempt to connect

2016-04-29 Thread Walsh, Nicholas
Package: samba
Version: 2:3.6.6-6+deb7u9
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

after update to version 2:3.6.6-6+deb7u9 all attempts at smb connection to a AD
share result in the error

"ntlmssp3_handle_neg_flags: Got challenge flags[0x60898201] - possible
downgrade detected!
missing_flags[0x0010] - NT_STATUS_RPC_SEC_PKG_ERROR session setup failed:
NT_STATUS_MORE_PROCESSING_REQUIRED *** Please consider answering these
questions, where appropriate ***
did you forget to run kinit?"

The kinit did throw me off, but I realised that kerberos was not at issue since
nothing changed with it and it's not used for authentication.

My primary use for smbclient is with the icinga2 monitoring platform for space
checks, something that was the first to indicate a problem.

Commandline, both from icinga2 and in separate tests by myself has been
smbclient //[server]/[share] -U [domain]/[user]
