Bug#815319: After update dhcpd server don't start

2016-04-30 Thread Adrian Immanuel Kiess
Package: isc-dhcp-server
Version: 4.3.4-1
Followup-For: Bug #815319

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
 Upgrading isc-dhcp-server
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
 apt -u dist-upgrade
   * What was the outcome of this action?
dhcpd won't be started after boot process or using service isc-dhcp-server
restart
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
 Running dhcpd service

I can confirm this bug.

After upgrading isc-dhcp-server it won't be executed after boot process or
using $ service isc-dhcp-server restart.

The solution to make it work again, I found from another bug report, is the
following:

In /etc/default/isc-dhcp-server

Change

INTERFACES=""

to

INTERFACESv4="eth0 virbr0"

Now $ service isc-dhcp-server restart works again.

But I guess this is just a workaround and thus it is not possible to let dhcpd
listen automatically to all interfaces by leaving INTERFACES variable with "".

Thank you very much for your time and reading this!

With many greetings,

Adrian Immanuel Kieß

Bug#813065: mgltools-gle: FTBFS in sid: Error: Unknown SWIG preprocessor directive: typemaps

2016-04-30 Thread Adam Conrad
Package: mgltools-gle
Version: 1.5.7~rc1+cvs.20140424-1
Followup-For: Bug #813065
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu yakkety ubuntu-patch

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * typemap-comments.patch: Fix FTBFS with stricter new swig (LP: #1562470)

Turns out the FTBFS was just a result of using an incorrect comment style
in the code which the newer swig is stricter about. This patch fixes that.

Bug#822118: [Debian-med-packaging] Bug#822118: RM: fw4spl -- RoQA, unmaintained, RC-buggy, FTBFS, blocks removal of old packages

2016-04-30 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Packages can be decrufted/removed even if there are still rdeps around
(forcing the removal breaking the deps), though you need to convince an FTP
master that it's the right thing to do it. This is a good case where this
can be done as fw4spl is already broken enough by itself.

Actually I already asked this morning on IRC to do so, but you know that
sometimes messages get ignored, etc.. (also, it's the week end..). I'll
try to have it done tomorrow or Monday.

I think the fw4spl should be removed from unstable too, it's not being
decrufted [0] keeping the old libvtk5.8 in unstable. I really want to
get rid of that to get the old netcdf packages out of unstable too.

Bug#815369: texi2pdf output filename bug?

2016-04-30 Thread 郭溢譞
Package: src:gcc-5-doc
Followup-For: Bug #815369

Hello,

There seems to be another bug in texi2pdf, which is triggered by an
underscore in output filename.

This command works:
texi2pdf --command="@set cmd1 HELLO" --build=tidy -o mwe.pdf mwe.texi
while the other doesn't:
texi2pdf --command="@set cmd1 HELLO" --build=tidy -o mwe_2.pdf mwe.texi

The mwe.texi file by Norbert:

$ cat mwe.texi
\input texinfo @c -*-texinfo-*-

What ever

Bug#822650: Build environment details

2016-04-30 Thread Bas Wijnen
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi Martin,

I can indeed reproduce it here. The problem seems to be that the new libstdc++
is more strict in the includes in requires. I've added two and it builds
again. I'll upload a new package soon. Thanks for the report!

For the impatient: both src/RTScheduler.cc and src/video/ZMBVEncoder.cc need:
#include

Thanks,
Bas

Hi,

usermode build-depends on libuser1-dev, but src:libuser has been
requested to be removed. (#818238)
Should usermode be removed as well? Or can the dependency on libuser1 be
dropped/replaced by something else?

Bug#823100: ghostscript: includes two files claimed to be under a non-free Unicode license

2016-04-30 Thread Francesco Poli (wintermute)
Package: ghostscript
Version: 9.19~dfsg-1+b1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.2.1

Hello,
I noticed that two files included in the ghostscript source package
are documented in the debian/copyright file as distributed under
the terms of a non-free Unicode license.

The two files are:

  Files: base/ConvertUTF.c
   base/ConvertUTF.h
  Copyright: 2001-2004, Unicode, Inc
  License: Unicode

and the license text is claimed to be:

  License: Unicode
This source code is provided as is by Unicode, Inc. No claims are made
as to fitness for any particular purpose. No warranties of any kind are
expressed or implied. The recipient agrees to determine applicability
of information provided. If this file has been purchased on magnetic or
optical media from Unicode, Inc., the sole remedy for any claim will be
exchange of defective media within 90 days of receipt.
   .
Limitations on Rights to Redistribute This Code
   .
Unicode, Inc. hereby grants the right to freely use the information
supplied in this file in the creation of products supporting the
Unicode Standard, and to make copies of this file in any form for
internal or external distribution as long as this notice remains
   attached.

At the very least, this license does not grant any permission
to modify the files (thus failing DFSG#3). Moreover, the license grant
seems to attempt to restrict use to "products supporting the Unicode
Standard" (thus failing DFSG#6).
See also
https://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2015/12/msg0.html
where an FTP Assitant confirmed that files which restrict "use to
only that of implementing a standard" are not fit for Debian main.

Therefore, the two files under discussion appear to be non-free.

However, this issue could possibly be easy to solve.
If Unicode Inc has published new versions of the two files in
more recent times, the updated versions should be under the
current unicode.org public license, as explained in
http://www.unicode.org/copyright.html#Exhibit1

Please check whether newer versions of those files are released
in one of the Unicode web site areas mentioned in the cited Exhibit1.
The newer versions could perhaps be used as replacements for the
non-free ones.

I hope this issue may be addressed soon.
Thanks for your time!

Bye.

Bug#822671: initramfs-tools: preserves unmodified /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf on upgrades from jessie

2016-04-30 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Followup-For: Bug #822671
Control: tag -1 patch

Hi Ben,

attached is a patch that improves the handling of initramfs.conf
That's a lot of code - but most of it was stolen from
dpkg-maintscript-helper :-) (preinst/postrm from rm_conffile, postinst
from from mv_conffile with slight modifications)
It's currently set to be very verbose: mvverbose=-v
that should be changed to mvverbose=#-v for production.

There is also a 1-line .maintscript file being added that takes care of
/etc/bash_completion.d/initramfs-tools conffile removal

This passed a piuparts jessie -> stretch upgrade (unmodified conffile)
and a manual jessie -> stretch upgrade with a modified conffile.

Retrying the give-back will probably succeed at some point ...
because the check-gc test may fail nondeterministically.
That is even documented in the test:

  # this test sometimes crashes the GC with the well-known
  # Panic: Visit: object not in prev space at 0x40210b2c ('pair') 8199 8201
(dumping core).

Given that, this test should not immediately fail the build process.

Bug#823089: Makes USB SDR devices world-read/writable

2016-04-30 Thread Ben Hutchings
Package: librtlsdr0
Version: 0.5.3-5
Severity: grave
Tags: security

librtlsdr0 installs udev rules that set the permission bits for
supported devices to 0666.

*** NEVER, EVER DO THIS! ***

All you should do is to set ENV{ID_SOFTWARE_RADIO}=1. Then udev will
give all local users access to these devices (see the rule at the end
of /lib/udev/rules.d/70-uaccess.rules).

Bug#823069: live-boot-initramfs-tools: Kernel panic while booting live with Debian stretch busybox/live packages

2016-04-30 Thread Arjen Balfoort
Package: live-boot-initramfs-tools
Version: 1:20151213
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
We tried to update the SolydXK EE (Enthusiast's Editions following Debian
stretch) ISOs and found that the current update in busybox caused a kernel
panic while booting live.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Update busybox (version 1:1.22.0-17 to 1:1.22.0-19), update live-boot and
live-boot-initramfs-tools to the latest versions.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
 Kernel panic.

 This output is relevant:
 Running /scripts/init-bottom
 mount: /dev is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev is not a block device

The error is caused in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-bottom/udev
 Line: mount -n -o move /dev ${rootmnt}/dev

This line is also present in Debian stable and does not cause a problem
there.
When we do not upgrade busybox we can successfully boot live.
This problem does not occur when upgrading busybox on an installed system,
only live.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
 A bootable live session.

Bug#823068: hurd-libfuse: libfuse-dev is already provided by src:fuse

2016-04-30 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Source: hurd-libfuse
Version: 0.0.20140820-2
Severity: serious
Control: block 815466 with -1

Hi,

only one source package can build a binary package. Even if the second
source package would build it for a separate set of architectures.
Therefore the libfuse-dev package from src:hurd-libfuse got superseded
by the package built by src:fuse (which has a higher version number).

Please drop this package again and provide a virtual package instead.
(There is some support for versioned Provides, but I'm not sure whether
it is ready for use in packages, yet, as not all tools may understand it)

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from

It installed fine in 'jessie', then the upgrade to 'stretch' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your bug report. It looks like you encountered a real bug, and I'm
still somewhat in the dark as to why it never has been observed
before. Because of that (i.e., me satisfying my own curiosity) I'll need a bit
more time to submit a fix, but at least I think I've located the cause of the
problem. I'll probably have a fix ready by Monday or a bit earlier.

One minor thing: it's not an Annotations issue, but a bug in the Yodl
package. I suggest you (or Tony, or George, who receive CCs) reassign this
bug to yodl, since that's where the fix is required.

Thanks again,

Indeed, sorry about that. I was not aware that src:ntp now included
this profile, I probably have missed some email or we just hit some
race condition.

I've just uploaded apparmor-profiles-extra 1.8, that does not include
the ntpd profile anymore.

Dear Maintainer,

Please consider shipping the AppArmor profile for ntp from
apparmor-profile-extra in the ntp package.

Indeed, this makes aa-profiles-extra conflict with openntpd (which itself
conflicts with ntp), as openntpd ships a different policy[0], leading to
several bug reports[1] against openntpd and aa-profiles-extra.

Given that openntpd and ntp conflict, this seems to be the best way to handle
this situation.

Best,

  nicoo

[0] This is required as openntpd has different policy requirements, yet also
uses the /usr/sbin/ntp path.
