The problem is that /usr/bin/dot and /usr/sbin/libgvc6-config-update
are the same binary shipped in different packages.

If this is intentional, one possible solution would be to make dot
a symlink to libgvc6-config-update with the dependency of the graphviz
on libgvc6 becoming a strict = dependency on the same binary version.

Bug#866638: geary: depends on libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 which is deprecated

2017-09-18 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Control: tags -1 +pending +patch

I am uploading an NMU to fix the 2 RC bugs for this package:
https://bugs.debian.org/866638
https://bugs.debian.org/873863

The NMU is a git snapshot from September 15 since there hasn't been a
new geary release since 0.11.3 last year. Several other distros have
also packaged git snapshots of geary because of the desire to
completely remove the unmaintained webkitgtk.

I am uploading to the DELAYED/5 queue. Please feel free to tell me if
I should delay it longer.

diff is posted below.

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

Hi,

since Jessie, the udevadm binary is available as /bin/udevadm.
To not break existing scripts, which use the old /sbin/udevadm path,
the udev package currently ships a compat symlink which we would like
to drop eventually (in buster or buster+1).

According to codesearch [1] your package hwinfo does hard-code the
udevadm path as /sbin/udevadm.

Please change that to /bin/udevadm.

Thanks for considering.

Michael,
on behalf of the pkg-systemd team.

Dear Maintainer,

As subject. Nothing ensures that a non-default version of Python 3 is installed,
so running the tests with a non-default version of Python 3 fails.

Attaching the patch I uploaded to Ubuntu.

Cheers,
mwh

Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-7/g++-7, but succeeds to build with gcc-6/g++-6. The
severity of this report may be raised before the buster release.
There is no need to fix this issue in time for the stretch release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc7-20170126/qscintilla2_2.9.3+dfsg-4_unstable_gcc7.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 7, either set CC=gcc-7 CXX=g++-7 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t=experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with
-Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files.
For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-7/porting_to.html

Bug#876130: libcamp-dev: fails to upgrade from 'stable' to 'sid' - trying to overwrite /usr/include/camp/args.hpp

Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'stable'.
It installed fine in 'stable', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces

This test intentionally skipped 'testing' to find file overwrite
problems before packages migrate from 'unstable' to 'testing'.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As
per definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for
a release, thus the severity.

Dear maintainer,

debomatic fails to build with Sphinx 1.6, currently available in experimental:

  make -C _build/latex all-pdf
  make[3]: Entering directory '/<>/docs/_build/latex'
  latexmk -pdf -dvi- -ps- 'Deb-o-Matic.tex'
  make[3]: latexmk: Command not found
Makefile:33: recipe for target 'Deb-o-Matic.pdf' failed
  make[3]: *** [Deb-o-Matic.pdf] Error 127

Since Sphinx 1.6, latexmk is required to build the LaTeX documentation [1].
Adding a build-dependency on latexmk should help.

Could you try again with 1.11.0-1 in unstable? I am unable to get any
failure, but wasn't able to get them in the first place.

Bug#876093: openvas-libraries FTBFS on amd64: override_dh_auto_configure failed

2017-09-18 Thread Lukas Schwaighofer
Hi,

while I'm not against introducing the patch, in my opinion we should
file a bug against libpcap0.8-dev instead (or at least in addition).
The starting space in the output of
pcap-config --libs
is due to Debian specific changes to the pcap-config tool. This
starting space in the output might also break other projects using
libpcap and cmake.

What do you think? If you want I can take care of filing that bug.

Regards
Lukas

uh, what has oath-toolkit to do with open-vm-tools?

Also as far as I can see the bug is not in open-vm-tools:

/usr/include/glibmm-2.4/glibmm/variant.h: In member function
'std::tuple<_Tps ...> Glib::Variant >::get()

/usr/include/glibmm-2.4/glibmm/variant.h:2095:45: error:

/usr/include/glibmm-2.4/glibmm/variant.h is clearly not shipped here.

Then I should probably rename the patch file since the current name is
confusing if it does the opposite of what the file name says.

Will likely do another upload with just this patch to experimental for
now.

You add the following to the linker flags:

-L/usr/lib/$(shell dpkg-architecture -qDEB_TARGET_GNU_TYPE)/hdf5/serial

This is wrong on i386: DEB_TARGET_GNU_TYPE expands to i686-linux-gnu,
while Debian uses i386-linux-gnu. Also, DEB_TARGET_* is definitely
wrong unless you are _building_ a cross-compiler. What you want here is
DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH - that will be correct even if you are _using_ a
cross compiler.

Also, if the package requires intrinsics, you should depend on
sse-support on i386 (but not on amd64, where SSE1 is always part of
the base ISA).

Christian

So I'll probably restrict the package to Intel architectures.

Any idea why hdf5 is not found on i386?

Just tried to open the same base file with a previous version (5.2.7.2)

I also removed and reinstalled LO (5.4.1.2 debian package) on my pc, to
no avail.

This means that dpkg called

  rename("/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/shlibs",
 "/var/lib/dpkg/info/libavahi-core7.shlibs" /* I think */);

and dpkg got EUCLEAN (!) I had to look that up, too.

Thanks, I'd suggest using this bug to keep it out of testing, and

Version: 0.9.15-1
Severity: serious
Justification: FTBFS with impending change
User: debian-p...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: rename-deprecation

As announced last year[1] and as advised by deprecation messages,
rename(1) will be removed from the perl package after the stretch
release, and this is now imminent.

Your package FTBFS with perl from experimental as a result. Please
add a Build-Depends: rename to your package, and all will be well
again:

   debian/rules override_dh_install
make[1]: Entering directory '/<>'
rename 's/\.py//' debian/python-whisper/usr/bin/*.py
/bin/sh: 1: rename: not found

Let me know if you would prefer an NMU to get this trivial change made.

Cheers,
Dominic.

immintrin.h is a x86/amd64 specific header for intrinsics, so the
package may simply not support other architectures. At least in util.h
I see nothing that tests whether the according SSE and related
intrinsics are actually supported.

Bug#853568: Nanopolish: gcc-7 issue solved, but immintrin.h missing on most architectures

2017-09-18 Thread Andreas Tille
control: tags -1 help

Hi,

the gcc-7 issue of nanopolish described in latest upstream (0.8.1) which
is now in unstable but according to the build logs[1] on most architecture
the build fails with

...
cc -o src/thirdparty/scrappie/scrappie_common.o -c -g -O2
-fdebug-prefix-map=/<>=. -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat
-Werror=format-security -fPIC src/thirdparty/scrappie/scrappie_common.c
In file included from src/thirdparty/scrappie/scrappie_common.c:3:0:
src/thirdparty/scrappie/util.h:4:14: fatal error: immintrin.h: No such file or
directory
 #include
  ^
compilation terminated.
...

On amd64 this is provided by libgcc-*-dev package - how to build the
package on those other architectures?

Strangely enough on i386 the build fails with

   /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lhdf5

which I do not understand as well ...

Thanks for any help

Andreas.

Dear maintainer,

highlight.js fails to build with Sphinx 1.6, currently available in
experimental:

  /usr/bin/make -C _build/latex all-pdf
  make[3]: Entering directory
'/<>/highlight.js-9.12.0+dfsg1/docs/_build/latex'
  latexmk -pdf -dvi- -ps- 'highlightjs.tex'
  make[3]: latexmk: Command not found
Makefile:33: recipe for target 'highlightjs.pdf' failed
  make[3]: *** [highlightjs.pdf] Error 127

Since Sphinx 1.6, latexmk is required to build the LaTeX documentation [1].
Adding a build-dependency on latexmk should help.

Wow, I've never seen that errno message before. Quickly checking glibc
it seems this is coming from EUCLEAN, but glibc's manual is of no much
help. Checking linux seems like this indicates a filesystem corruption
error, at least on MTD, Lustre, BTRFS, crypto, extN, jbd, JFFS2, NFS,
UBIFS and XFS (based) "filesystems".

So this seems like a local error. Time for backups and fsck in case
the filesystem used does have such tool. :)

Thanks,
Guillem

I can't reproduce the problem. Neither on my laptop nor in a chroot test
environment.

The shlibs file shipped by libavahi-core7_0.7-1 looks right to me
(attached), so I have no idea what's going on here.

Guillem, can you chime in here, please. What does this error message
mean and when and why can this happen.

Bug#876088: mon: fails to upgrade from 'stable' to 'sid' - trying to overwrite /usr/lib/mon/mon-local.d/softraid.monitor

Package: mon

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'stable'.
It installed fine in 'stable', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces

This test intentionally skipped 'testing' to find file overwrite
problems before packages migrate from 'unstable' to 'testing'.

The file hacks/images/m6502/dmsc.asm is assmebly with a comment at top
inviting to get the source by email:

As such, I believe the code violates Debian Policy section 2.1.

This was brought to my attention via PureOS who strips away this file,
and references Parabola which seemingly does the same:

Version: 1.16.0-1
Severity: important

Hi,

your package depends on the obsolete and abandoned python library
pygpgme. I've just filed an RC bug against that package, so that we
don't release buster with an essentially unmaintained package:

The packages python-gpg and python3-gpg (built from source package
gpgme1.0) provide python bindings for interactions with the gpgme
library. Both packages are already available in stretch.

It seems that caja-dropbox only uses gpgme to verify a file signature,
so it appears to be a rather simple task to rewrite the signature
checking code.

Regards,
Tobias

it seems that ruby-rugged_0.26.0-1 has been uploaded to experimental
over a week ago, but the changelog forgot to close this bug (probably
forgotten).

please close this bug at your convenience.
(for now, i'm not closing this myself due to the "sid"/"buster" tags and
the updated package not yet appearing in any of these)

It doesn't run on some gcode files. Looks like it's a bug in handling G0 moves.
G1 moves are handled fine.

And it works for a lot of people because G0 moves aren't actually all that
common in gcode files. Slic3r only uses G1 for instance.

Thanks, I'll import the patch (and possibly look for a more up-to-date fork to
package).

I'd just leave this as is, because it actually worked with older versions of
pyglet, so the above bug is actually a regression in pyglet itself that rendered
pyglet completely useless (iirc there weren't any calls that actually worked in
pyglet).

Could you check if libpam-systemd is installed and enabled in
common-session pam file?

Regarding the "/sys/fs/cgroup/cgmanager" error, could you check that
pam_cgm.so is NOT enabled in any pam services?

You could use "pam-auth-update" to update the pam config files.
