Package: src:isc-dhcp
Version: 4.3.5-4
Severity: serious
User: ad...@alioth-lists.debian.net
Usertag: alioth-lists-maintainer

Dear uploader of isc-dhcp,

as you've probably heard, Debian's alioth services are shutting down.
This affects your package isc-dhcp since the list address
pkg-dhcp-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org used in the Maintainer: field
was not transferred to the alioth-lists service that provides a
continuation for the lists in the @lists.alioth.debian.org domain.

Addresses that were not migrated have been disabled some time ago. As
a result your package is now in violation of a "must" in the Debian
policy (3.3, working email address), making it unfit for release.

Please fix this before long. Among other reasons, keep in mind bug
reports and important notifications about your package might not reach
you.

Your options:

* Upload another version with a new maintainer address of your choice,

* Migrate the list to the new system. This is still possible,
please appoint a Debian developer as a list owner first, then
contact the alioth lists migration team
and provide all the necessary information.

More information about the new service can be found here:

* More options, even if imperfect, can be found at

The first option is probably suitable only if the address was used just
in a small number of packages since this requires an upload for each of
them. To our knowledge, the usage count of
pkg-dhcp-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org is 1.

The second option is available for a limited time only, by end of
May 2018 the most. So if you're interested in going this way, start the
process as soon as possible.

Note, as mails to the maintainer address will not get through, this
bugreport is Cc'ed (X-Debbugs-CC:) to all uploaders of the package.

Regards,

Christoph and some alioth-lists maintainers

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Upgrade from an fully updated Jessie to Stretch. DHCP server was working
before upgrade
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
I have tested a Jessie->Stretch upgrade on a minimal installation and
also did a fresh installation of isc-dhcp-server after upgrade
   * What was the outcome of this action?
isc-dhcp-server does not start even with a default config
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I would have expected that the server would start with default config
and also with my rather simple configuration

Hmmm so i'm not sure what to do about this.

Is it allowed to use Debian Boost Team

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at

Package: src:acmetool
Version: 0.0.62-2
Severity: serious
User: ad...@alioth-lists.debian.net
Usertag: alioth-lists-maintainer

Dear uploader of acmetool,

as you've probably heard, Debian's alioth services are shutting down.
This affects your package acmetool since the list address
letsencrypt-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org used in the Maintainer: field
was not transferred to the alioth-lists service that provides a
continuation for the lists in the @lists.alioth.debian.org domain.

The first option is probably suitable only if the address was used just
in a small number of packages since this requires an upload for each of
them. To our knowledge, the usage count of
letsencrypt-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org is 17.

Hi Joost,

great to hear, thanks! I did go ahead and fixed another (not reported)
FTBFS bug in the package, due to the switch of Chinese from sgml
translations to po4a translations.

I also did some minor cleanups and then prepared a new release. I hope I
did not mess up, but I thought that fixing the FTBFS bugs now would be a
good idea, because the freeze is not too far away.

Well, that's probably quite a bit of work. If you don't mind, I could
look after some of the easier to fix bugs in the Debian BTS and try to
close them before the conversion.

I'm aware of this. And I'm not *necessarily* advocating a change to the
kernel to allow this by default. But perhaps chromium-sandbox could have
some lesser privilege (not full setuid root) that allows it to create an
unprivileged user namespace? bubblewrap and others could do the same.

We *might* also consider having a configuration package that drops a
unprivileged_userns_clone.conf file into /usr/lib/sysctl.d/ , and
letting packages like chromium depend on
unprivileged-userns-clone | chromium-sandbox.

Bug#913371: gnat-gps fails to build on 32-bit kernels, address space exhaustion.

2018-11-17 Thread Nicolas Boulenguez
Package: src:gnat-gps
Followup-For: Bug #913371

The issue is reproducible on mipsel with
  MALLOC_ARENA_MAX  = 1
  DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS = noopt parallel=1
The package was building in experimental, the faulty version only
differs by
  LDFLAGS += -Wl,--no-allow-shlib-undefined -Wl,--no-copy-dt-needed-entries
The dependencies have not changed much either.
Maybe the problem probably originates in compiler changes.

Dear Maintainer,

ICU 63.1 recently released, packaged and uploaded to experimental.
Its transition is going to start soon. However your package fails to
build with this version. I attach a patch which fixes the problem.
Please check if it works with the version in Sid and upload the
package when it's feasible for you.

Thanks,

The root cause is that on armel/armhf (and arm64 in Ubuntu)
Qt5 is compiled with OpenGL ES instead of OpenGL.

Ideally it should be fixed to build and work with OpenGL ES,
but if this is not easily possible please
- change the build dependency from libqt5opengl5-dev
to libqt5opengl5-desktop-dev (which will stop trying
to build mldemos on armel/armhf), and
- file a removal bug for the old armel+armhf binaries
  against ftp.debian.org

Bug#913978: is not accessible with Orca screenreader

2018-11-17 Thread Mika Hanhijärvi
Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:3.30.2-1
Severity: grave
Tags: a11y

Hello

I installed Debian Buster on virtual machine awhile ago. I wanted to try Buster
on virtual machine before upgrading my computers which are currently running
Debian Stretch. I am blind so I have to use screen reader which speaks the
content on screen. As a blind user I also can not use mouse so I use computer
from keyboard only without using mouse.

Gnome 3.30 desktop's new style settings window in Debian Buster is currently
completely unusable with the Orca screen reader. It is completely impossible to
access Gnome desktop settings using Orca screen reader. I can open the settings
window but the content of the window is completely inaccessible.

This is wery severe unacceptable problem. This bug makes Gnome 3.30 unusable
for the visually impaired users because you can not access or change the
desktop settings.

Here is how to reproduce this problem:

1) Make sure Orca screen reader is installed and running
2) Open Gnome desktop settings window
3) Try to navigate settings from keyboard using the arrow, tab etc keys.

Expected result should be that Orca should speak the content on screen and you
should be able to navigate and change settings from keyboard without any need
to use mouse. But it does not work as expected and settings window is not
accessiblwhich makes the settings window
completely unusable.

Dear Kodi mantainers,

Please rebuild kodi against a newer avcodec library since current
libavcodec57 is broken on Sid and transitioning to libavcodec58:

# apt install kodi kodi-bin libavcodec57

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libavcodec57 : Depends: libx264-152 but it is not installable

Hi,

Your package FTBFS with the upcoming version 3.5 of FFmpeg. In FFmpeg 3.5,
there are a number of API changes which will cause many packages to FTBFS.
For this reason I have uploaded an early development snapshot to experimental
before the 3.5 release in an attempt to fix some of these a bit quicker.
While 3.5 has not been finalized and the ABI is not stable yet, there should
not be any significant API breakages before the release.

Incomplete list of changes (based on looking at common build failures):
- Some fields in AVCodecContext have been removed and replaced with private
options which can be set using the av_opt_set* APIs
- Most CODEC_* constants have been renamed to AV_CODEC_*
- The buffer constants FF_INPUT_BUFFER_PADDING_SIZE and FF_MIN_BUFFER_SIZE
have been renamed to AV_INPUT_BUFFER_PADDING_SIZE and
  AV_INPUT_BUFFER_MIN_SIZE.
- The old resampling API provided by libavcodec has been removed. Use
  libswresample instead.
- The libavfilter/avfiltergraph.h header has been removed, include
  libavfilter/avfilter.h instead.
- The AVFrac structure (representing mixed rational numbers) has been
  removed.

Build log:

Thanks,
James

Not that I know of, the buildd environments for security builds should
not diverge.

> What I know is that the testsuite hangs if run with eatmydata. But otherwise
> I'm unaware about any problems. Is this build done on amd64 or on i386?

eatmydata should not be used. But according to the build log the
following is given:

Package: ceph
Version: 10.2.11-1
Source Version: 10.2.11-1
Distribution: stretch-security
Machine Architecture: amd64
Host Architecture: i386
Build Architecture: i386
Build Type: any

And trying to reproduce on barriere.d.o lead to the same hanging result.

I have not investigated further though.

Salvatore

Dear Maintainer,

ICU 63.1 recently released, packaged and uploaded to experimental.
Its transition is going to start soon. However your package fails to
build with this version. I attach a patch which fixes the problem.
Please check if it works with the version in Sid and upload the
package when it's feasible for you.

Thanks,

After several atemps the mipsel build worked. The i386 though
still failed.

I'll have a look. Is there anything special about the build
environment? What I know is that the testsuite hangs if run with
eatmydata. But otherwise I'm unaware about any problems. Is this
build done on amd64 or on i386?

Bug#913915: juce: VST2 support has been dropped

2018-11-17 Thread Jean Pierre Cimalando
Hi. I'm the author of a personal fork of JUCE, currently at 5.4.1,
which permits building VST2 without use of a non-free Steinberg
developer kit.

Olivier Humbert (trebmuh) has pointed me to this bug, and I think I
should give my humble answer since I did a bit of work on this.

> Until there is a proper solution for the problem, i suggest to keep
> JUCE from migrating to testing.

The DISTRHO plugin framework aka DPF, permits to build VST2 based on
VeSTige, a reverse-engineered header, free of Steinberg's licensing
restrictions.

In a recent commit of my JUCE fork, I did the same by permitting to
integrate VeSTige into JUCE as a replacement of the usual framework.
https://github.com/jpcima/JUCE/commit/2414d676068ee96c5f53f18882889f8a1f77564c

This is not widely tested in another context than my own plugins, and
it is a lossy process in some ways, since VeSTige does not cover the
entirety of original specifications.
So I had to disable some functionality in JUCE under conditional
compilation,

Among lost functionality are: system-exclusive MIDI handling, more
advanced audio channel layout specifications, double precision
processing.

---
About the VeSTige header: I did some modifications, which are only
structural, *not by any means altering any definitions inside*, in order
to make it well integrate into JUCE well as a substitute.
(#define would need conversion to enum values, so they can be
namespaced as JUCE needs)
A change as trivial as this would be probably fine, but I was told there
is some reluctancy to update this header, no matter how little a change
may be, because of delicateness of licensing situation and the
hostility Steinberg has engaged against free projects.

To link jvm with uWSGI the built class file uwsgi.jar must be loaded,
but that file is not shipped with the package.

Workaround is to fetch the class file from source - e.g.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/unbit/uwsgi/master/plugins/jvm/uwsgi.java
and compile that with "javac uwsgi.java" and place the result in CLASSPATH.

Proper fix is to ship the built class file.

Bug#913959: kde4libs: Build-Depends on libssl1.0-dev

2018-11-17 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Source: kde4libs
Version: 4:4.14.38-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

It seems that kde4libs Build-Depends on libssl1.0-dev as a result
of #828363. There are currently no packages depending on
libssl1.0.2 left in testing, but this source package is the only
one that has a Build-Depends against libssl1.0-dev.

There doesn't seem to be any of the binary packages that has a
Depends or Recommends on libssl1.0.2, so either the support for it
actually got disabled or it's loaded at run time and might fail
to load it since nothing will pull in libssl1.0.2.

Bug#913952: python-xarray: empty package when only python3 version is python3.7

2018-11-17 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Source: python-xarray
Version: 0.11.0-1
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

python-xarray 0.11.0-1 made this surprising addition in its
dh_auto_install override:
rm -rf debian/python3-xarray/usr/lib/python3.7

This results in a basically empty package on Ubuntu 19.04 Alpha where
python3.7 is the only supported python3 version.

I am filing this as serious since python3.7 will soon be the only
supported python3 version in Debian Unstable.

In my next email, I am attaching a patch that might fix this issue. At
least the build completes successfully in both Debian Unstable and
Ubuntu 19.04 but I didn't try running it or running any tests.

Build log

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-xarray/0.11.0-2/+build/15670729

This bug was detected by the 0.11.0-2 autopkgtest on Ubuntu:
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/p/python-xarray/disco/amd64

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

Bug#913945: should depend on zlib1g-dev 8and build-essential?)

2018-11-17 Thread op
Package: ghdl-gcc

Dear maintainer,

I installed ghdl{,-gcc,-mcode} build-essential, but ''ghdl-gcc -e'' gives an
error:

$ ghdl-gcc -a hello_world
$ ghdl-gcc -e hello_world

Installing zlib1g-dev fixes that. Moreover, should ghdl-gcc also depend on
build-essential or gcc?

We have this mode available. Sysadmins can select it with:

sysctl -w kernel.unprivileged_userns_clone=1

which leads to the same behaviour as upstream kernels, Fedora, and
recent Ubuntu releases. (Or use /etc/sysctl.d to change this in a
persistent way.)

However, Debian's kernel maintainer has indicated that he doesn't consider
this mechanism to be completely safe (I'm not sure to what extent this is
still true), hence the current default. Setting up a user namespace gives
you all capabilities in the namespace (including CAP_SYS_ADMIN, which is
required if you want to protect part or all of the host system directory
tree from the namespaced process by playing with mount namespaces and
bind-mounts, like Flatpak does), so if you suspect the kernel still has
flaws in which capabilities in non-init user namespaces can be abused
to get privileged access to the overall system, you can't allow it.

The bwrap utility in the bubblewrap package is also setuid root
on Debian systems, and mitigates the risks of user namespaces by
irreversibly dropping privileges with the NO_NEW_PRIVS prctl after
it has done its work (presumably chromium's sandbox does the same). I
wonder whether chromium's sandbox could use bwrap? That way we'd only
need one setuid user-namespace-creating executable; bwrap is already
shared between Flatpak, gnome-desktop3 (for thumbnailers), nautilus
(also for thumbnailers) and opam.

Sysadmins who have set kernel.unprivileged_userns_clone=1 can use
dpkg-statoverride to make bwrap non-setuid, as it is on recent Ubuntu
systems (the same compiled binary can work either way, since it detects
which mode to work in at runtime).

Bug#913941: compiz: can not be configured until compiz config management packages are in

2018-11-17 Thread Samuel Thibault
Package: compiz
Version: 2:0.8.14-3
Severity: serious
Justification: Can not be configured

This bug is just meant to prevent compiz reloaded from entering testing,
because the compiz config management packages haven't actually passed
through NEW yet, so the reloaded version of compiz can't be configured
yet, so not really ready for testing.

The latter is orthogonal - while pkg-config would be nicer than
llvm-config, changing this won't help with the problem at hand
that the contents returned is bogus.

Yeah, I am planning to do that at some point. Or implement

Bug#909498: Fixed with firefox-esr from jessie

2018-11-17 Thread Xavi Drudis Ferran
Hello.

I hope I'm not adding only noise.

I found the same error on my Wandboard Quad when I updated my stretch
from aptitude, and jumper from firefox-esr 58 (I think) to 60.3 .

I tried to install the version from sid, but dependencies didn't allow.

But it started working when I dpkg -i firefox-esr_60.3.0esr-1~deb8u1_armhf.deb
(the version from jessie, downloaded from
http://security.debian.org/debian-security/pool/updates/main/f/firefox-esr/firefox-esr_60.3.0esr-1~deb8u1_armhf.deb
and checked against checksums at
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/armhf/firefox-esr/download
) .

I don't know why. I have a custom kernel, an old system upgraded
from years ago, and some other custom or eclectic package might
be around here too. So my example might not really be significative,
but if other people can reproduce it then maybe there might be some
dependency info to improve somehow ?

I just notice

stretch firefox depends on libcairo-gobject2 >= 1.10.0 and jessie firefox
doesn't,

stretch firefox depends on libdbus-1-3 (>= 1.9.14) and jessie firefox on (>=
1.0.2)

stretch firefox depends on libgcc1 (>= 1:4.3) and jessie firefox on (>=
1:4.4.0)

stretch firefox depends on libjsoncpp1 (>= 1.7.4) and jessie firefox doesn't

stretch firefox depends on libstdc++6 (>= 6) and jessie firefox on libstdc++6
(>= 4.9)

stretch firefox depends on libvpx4 (>= 1.6.0) and jessie firefox doesn't

The rest of deps seem the same for jessie and stretch firefoxes.

I have installed:

libcairo-gobject2 1.14.8-1
libdbus-1-3 1.10.26-0+deb9u1
libgcc1 1:6.3.0-18+deb9u1
libjsoncpp1 1.7.4-3
libstdc++66.3.0-18+deb9u1
libvpx4 1.6.1-3+deb9u1

I'm not sure this info is any useful, but just in case someone happens
to find the bug and wants to try the jessie package and tell the
result...

After several atemps the mipsel build worked. The i386 though still
failed.

Bug#871105: Status of debian-faq

I plan to work on the Debian FAQ at
https://wiki.debian.org/BSP/2019/01/nl/Venlo . However, IIRC currently the FAQ
is next to ready for upload. I will likely _not_ work on it before the BSP.
So: any action from your side is very welcome now.

One big issue we'd need to fix is: https://bugs.debian.org/612993 : convert
from SGML to DocBook XML. As I wrote there, that can wait till after upload.
But _not_ till the buster freeze, I'd say...

Thanks for your interest!

Bye,

Joost
