Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.3

During review of your package in New, the following items were noted to
be missing from debian/copyright. I'm filing this bug instead of
rejecting the package (since it's not a new issue in the package).
Please fix in your next upload.

Bug#935568: sphinx-issuetracker: should this package be removed?

it has a very low popcon value

It has no reverse-dependencies and it's currently one of the few r-deps of
python-debianbts.

Should we just remove this package from Debian?

Thanks,

Hi! As you might know we the Qt/KDE team are preparing to remove Qt4
as [announced] in:

[announced]

Currently Qt4 has been dead upstream and we are starting to have problems
maintaining it, like for example in the [OpenSSL 1.1 support] case.

[OpenSSL 1.1 support]

In order to make this move, all packages directly or indirectly depending on
the Qt4 libraries have to either get ported to Qt5 or eventually get
removed from the Debian repositories.

Therefore, please take the time and:
- contact your upstream (if existing) and ask about the state of a Qt5
port of your application
- if there are no activities regarding porting, investigate whether there are
suitable alternatives for your users
- if there is a Qt5 port that is not yet packaged, consider packaging it
- if both the Qt4 and the Qt5 versions already coexist in the Debian
archives, consider removing the Qt4 version

= Porting =

Some of us where involved in various Qt4 to Qt5 migrations [migration] and we
know for sure that porting stuff from Qt4 to Qt5 is much much easier and less
painful than it was from Qt3 to Qt4.

We also understand that there is still a lot of software still using Qt4.

Don't forget to take a look at the C++ API changes page [apichanges] whenever
you start porting your application.

[migration] http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/packagingqtbasedstuff.html
[apichanges] http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/sourcebreaks.html

For any questions and issues, do not hesitate to contact the Debian Qt/KDE
team at debian-qt-...@lists.debian.org

The removal is being tracked in

Package: bauble
Version: 0.9.7-2.1
Severity: important

Dear maintainer,

Your package currently uses python-gdata, which is dead upstream and had no
upstream release since 2013. It also does not support Python 3.

The recommended alternative is using google-api-python-client [1], which is
packaged in Debian as python-googleapi.

I would like to remove python-gdata from Debian Buster, so please update
your package.

Package: src:grantlee
Version: 0.4.0-4
Severity: normal

User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-9

Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-9/g++-9, but succeeds to build with gcc-8/g++-8. The
severity of this report will be raised before the bullseye release,
so nothing has to be done for the buster release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc9-20190321/grantlee_0.4.0-4_unstable_gcc9.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 9, either set CC=gcc-9 CXX=g++-9 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t=experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with
-Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files.
For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-9/porting_to.html

GCC 9 also passes the linker option --as-needed by default; typical
build issues are passing libraries before object files to the linker,
or underlinking of convenience libraries built from the same source.

Lisandro,
on behalf of the Qt4 maintainers

Package: kmidimon
Version: 0.7.5-3
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

I am looking to join in with the maintenance of the libdrumstick suite of
packages (vmpk, kmetronome etc.). Libdrumstick 1.0.2-1 is currently sitting in
experimental, waiting for a transition slot. Unfortunately, we missed the date
of the transition freeze for Debian Stretch, so it will have to wait for
Buster.

Kmidimon is the only remaining reverse dependency of libdrumstick in Debian
that does not build with the latest version in experimental. Discussions with
the upstream maintainer suggest that it will be upgraded (including migration
to the latest Qt5 libraries) in early 2017.

Bug#935563: astropy 3.2.1 breaks sunpy

2019-08-23 Thread Steve Langasek
Source: astropy
Version: 3.2.1-1
Severity: serious
Justification: autopkgtest regressions block migration
Affects: sunpy/0.9.6-2
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu eoan autopkgtest

Hi Ole,

The sunpy autopkgtests fail with new astropy 3.2.1-1, and considering the
failing autopkgtest is one specifically intended to test an error-prone
astropy transformation (according to the comments), this looks to me like it
may be a genuine regression in astropy that's caught by sunpy:

Lisandro,
on behalf of the Qt4 maintainers

For some reason it's not listed in the debian/changelog and doesn't have
a Closes: entry, but the 1.2.0-1 upload switched to Qt5.

Upstream seems dead, there's no release after 2011 or did you get a reply?

Let's remove it from the archive then.

The current git version on Sourceforge defaults to Qt5.

Hi Josue,
the current upstream web site is https://github.com/mciobanu/mp3diags/
and release https://github.com/mciobanu/mp3diags/releases/tag/1.5.01
should support Qt5 now:
https://github.com/mciobanu/mp3diags/commit/45db02b4670bb6c10e07d80524dc4c1f54d3678f

Are you planning to upgrade the package (given that the last upload was over
three
years ago) or shall we remove it from the archive?

Cheers,

Source: nomad
Version: 0.8.7+dfsg1-1

The nomad package fails to build in Debian unstable (and in Ubuntu devel):

[...]

build cache is disabled by GOCACHE=off, but required as of Go 1.12
cd _build && go generate -v
can't load package: package .: no Go files in /tmp/nomad-0.8.7+dfsg1/_build

It appears that removing the 'GOCACHE=off' line from debian/rules is
sufficient to fix this failure.

Bug#830726: xtrlock: CVE-2016-10894: xtrlock does not block multitouch events

OK, so I tried the patch. Initially, I got an X bad value error, but it
can apparently be fixed by initializing xi_major and xi_minor to 2. This
was done in your previous patch, is required according to man
XIQueryVersion, and appears to fix the issue.

The new patch is slightly better than the older one in that it would
seem to re-grab devices when they appear after xtrlock has been run.
This is the case both when making them disappear and reappear with
/sys/bus/usb/devices/*/authorized, and when doing the same with xinput
enable/disable. Playing with the devices after they have appeared no
longer moves the mouse pointer, whereas it did with the first patch that
you proposed.

In the case of xinput (but not the authorized file), when one plays with
the touchscreen *while* "xinput enable" runs, then I got the mouse
pointer to move to the location I was pressing on the touchscreen,
suggesting the possibility of a timing attack. In the case of the
authorized file (or when not doing either of these two things), the
mouse pointer never moves when the touchscreen is interacted with.

However, but there's still a more serious problem, which is also pretty
weird. If I do:

 (sleep 10 ; xinput 9 disable; sleep 10 ; xinput 9 enable)&
 xtrlock

Then:

- For the 10 first seconds, playing with the touchscreen does nothing
  (because it is correctly grabbed)

- For the next 10 seconds, playing with the touchscreen does nothing
  (because it is disabled)

- Then, the touchscreen seems to be "grabbed" in the sense that playing
with the touchscreen no longer moves the mouse pointer. (Again, this
was not true with the first version of the patch, so there's an
improvement now.) However, the touchscreen is not "correctly" grabbed
because I can still work around the grab using multiple fingers (i.e.,
press somewhere, then interact with chromium). This is exactly like
the bug I reported in the original xtrlock, with the only difference
that the mouse pointer does not move while I do it.

So the regrab doesn't actually solve things. What is even weirder is
that this problem with the screen not being "correctly" grabbed will
persist on future xtrlock runs: if I close xtrlock by typing the correct
password, and run xtrlock again (without messing around with xinput this
time), then the touchscreen will again not be "correctly" grabbed:
playing with it does not move the mouse pointer, but I can still work
around the grab using multiple fingers. I can exit/restart xtrlock
multiple times and the problem persists.

The problem is only solved when I do an "xinput disable" and "xinput
enable" of the input while xtrlock is *not* running. Then, if I run
xtrlock afterwards, then the output is correctly grabbed and I cannot
work around it.

I'm sorry that this a bit complicated to describe... I'm not familiar at
all with what's going on, but it is as if, when the input appears while
xtrlock is running, then its attempt to grab it not only fails to work
properly (though it still prevents the mouse pointer from moving), but
also put the input in a weird state that will also make further grabs
fail to work properly, until running xinput enable/disable outside of
xtrlock puts it back in a sane state.

[The exact same behavior seems to occur if I replace xinput
enable/disable with the corresponding play with the authorized file.]

Can you reproduce this pretty weird behavior? Does it make any sense to
you?

I agree we shouldn't try excessively hard, but what you describe here
isn't really an xtrlock vulnerability: xtrlock is about locking the X

Many thanks for the advise. I was on holidays for 3 weeks, so I just
saw your message. A source-only upload is on the way.

Bug#935547: python-ghost: Qt4 WebKit removal

2019-08-23 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
Source: python-ghost
Version: 0.2.3-2
Severity: serious
User: debian-qt-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: qt4webkit-removal qt4-removal

Dear Maintainer,

As announced four years ago [1], we want to remove Qt 4.x WebKit from
archive. Unfortunately we failed to remove it from Stretch or from Buster,
but now time has come and it will not be part of Bullseye.

Your package relies on Qt 4.x WebKit and uses it via pyside. Pyside is
scheduled for autoremoval from testing and your package will be removed
transitively.

However, I am asking you to also get rid of Qt 4.x WebKit dependency in sid,
or request the removal of this package.

Upstream has ported the package to Qt5 and PySide2 [2]. Unfortunately,
in Debian the PySide2 package is built without WebKit support. If you are
interested, we can fix this. Also you can try to use PyQt5 which has
mostly compatible API and is built without WebKit support.

In can reproduce it in my autopkgtest setup.

I'm not really sure what exactly happens, but what makes the
difference is the existence of blib/ (i.e. running perl Build.PL;
./Build before the tests).

Background: the smoke test in autopkgtests-pkg-perl copies (by
default only t/, in our case, because of
debian/tests/pkg-perl/smoke-files) t/ and data/ to an empty temporary
directory and runs prove there.

But the empty directory is not even necessary. In the source tree (in
my case in an schroot chroot after the failed autopkgtest but that
shouldn't matter):
- `prove --verbose t/load_write_itself.t' fails with the error above

- perl Build.PL ; ./Build
- and now `prove --verbose t/load_write_itself.t' succeeds

- ./Build realclean; perl Build.PL
- prove fails

- ./Build
- prove succeeds

- ./Build realclean ; perl Build.PL ; ./Build ; rm -r blib
- prove fails

Somewhere in the tests, they look into blib/ and fail otherwise …

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#921694:

2019-08-23 Thread Samuel Henrique
Control: severity -1 normal

Lowering the severity back to normal now as it's safe to migrate to Testing
now, I forwarded this to upstream but could not reproduce on my machine.

I think this may be some isolated case, anyway we have until the bullseye
to confirm that and mdk4 will probably change a lot meanwhile.

Bug#935453: libconfig-model-tkui-perl breaks libconfig-model-itself-perl autopkgtest

2019-08-23 Thread Dominique Dumont
On jeudi 22 août 2019 20:31:52 CEST you wrote:
> Can you please investigate the situation and reassign the
> bug to the right package?

Sure.

The change done in libconfig-model-tkui-perl 1.370 did break libconfig-model-
itself-perl 2.016 (the API change are backward compatible, the class
inheritance, less so :-( )

I've released libconfig-model-itself-perl 2.018 with a change that fixes the
tests with libconfig-model-tkui-perl 1.370 (but probably break with 1.369).

The log from auotpkgtest [1] in the setup that should work shows this error:

ok 3 - Read all models from wr_root/load_write_itself/lib/Config/Model/models
Configuration item 'application:fstab model' has a wrong value:
reference type does not know 'Fstab'. Expected 'Itself::Application' or
'Itself::CargoElement' or 'Itself::Class' or 'Itself::CommonElement' or
'Itself::CommonElement::Assert' or 'Itself::CommonElement::WarnIfMatch' or
'Itself::ComputedValue' or 'Itself::ConfigAccept' or 'Itself::ConfigReadWrite'
or 'Itself::ConfigReadWrite::DefaultLayer' or 'Itself::Element' or
'Itself::MigratedValue' or 'Itself::Model' or 'Itself::NonWarpableElement' or
'Itself::WarpOnlyElement' or 'Itself::WarpValue' or
'Itself::WarpableCargoElement' or 'Itself::WarpableElement'
# Tests were run but no plan was declared and done_testing() was not seen.
# Looks like your test exited with 2 just after 3.
Dubious, test returned 2 (wstat 512, 0x200)

This looks like cme is able to find the file /usr/share/perl5/Config/Model/
system.d/fstab , but is not able to load /usr/share/perl5/Config/Model/models/
Fstab.pl. Even though both files are provided by libconfig-model-perl.

Given that I cannot reproduce this issue on my system, I guess that the setup
of perl library in autopkgtest is different than the default setup. I need to
check how these files are found.

In any case the root cause for the failure of libconfig-model-itself-perl 2.018
with libconfig-model-tkui-perl 1.370 is not the regression brought by
libconfig-model-tkui-perl 1.370

All the best

Hi,

The latest version of trilinos in unstable fails on mips64el:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=trilinos

After 2 failed attempts on the buildd, a maintainer build was uploaded.
Packages need to build on buildds. If it doesn't build on mips64el, the binary
should be removed there (and in that case the build should probably be
disabled on mips64el because it takes a very long time).

Cheers,

Ivo

Bug#934905: libaqbanking35: libaqbanking not ready for PSD2, will not work after 14 September 2019

2019-08-23 Thread Matthias Merz
Dear Micha,

I tried for myself yesterday. I built upstream tarball 5.8.1 using your
libaqbanking_5.7.8-3.debian.tar.xz. I needed the following changes in
exported symbols to successfully build a debian package:

cat diff_libaqbanking35.symbols
83,84d82
< AB_AccountType_fromChar@Base 5.8.1
< AB_AccountType_toChar@Base 5.8.1
485,488d482
< AB_Banking_RuntimeConfig_GetCharValue@Base 5.8.1
< AB_Banking_RuntimeConfig_GetIntValue@Base 5.8.1
< AB_Banking_RuntimeConfig_SetCharValue@Base 5.8.1
< AB_Banking_RuntimeConfig_SetIntValue@Base 5.8.1
1499a1494
> #MISSING: 5.5.1# AB_Transaction_GetCreditorIdentifier@Base 4.2.3+svn.r1797
1522a1518
> #MISSING: 5.5.1# AB_Transaction_GetMandateReference@Base 4.2.3+svn.r1797
1621a1618
> #MISSING: 5.5.1# AB_Transaction_SetCreditorIdentifier@Base 4.2.3+svn.r1797
1644a1642
> #MISSING: 5.5.1# AB_Transaction_SetMandateReference@Base 4.2.3+svn.r1797

But I can't tell whether this may pose problems with debian policy to
remove symbols from a package? As far as I understand the gnucash git
commit100ef2a01d, version 5.7.9 should also contain the necessary code
to pass the registration information. - online browseable at
https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/commit/100ef2a01decda3ed54cf7204ae38bfd8766521d

Unfortunately, gnucash even in unstable (and any released version AFAIK)
does not yet contain the necessary registration code. But I was able to
get rid of the HBCI warnings when building a debian package from the git
maint branch against libaqbanking 5.8.1. See gnucash bugreport #935503 -
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=935503

Maybe his can help to create a stable-backport, o even stable-updates
package?

Yours
Matthias Merz

Package: src:monero
Version: 0.13.0.4-2

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc9-20190321/monero_0.13.0.4-2_unstable_gcc9.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 9, either set CC=gcc-9 CXX=g++-9 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t=experimental install g++

Version: 1.3.2-2.1
Severity: important

The python-yubico-tools package in sid cannot be installed. The recent
NMU of the python-yubico added "X-Python-Version: >= 2.8" to the
debian/control, which resulted in a bogus binary dependency on
python:any (>= 2.8~).

The current Python packaging policy manual says that these fields are
obsolete and can be removed now that only Python 2.7 is supported[1].

Since fuse no longer ships its own udev rules, maybe it can be dropped

Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:3.30.3-1
Severity: grave

Suddenly gnome-control-center starts to immediatly segfaults on start.
This happens for me on 2 devices (of 2 tested).

One note about "suddenly": When that started to happen, it first
normally started and then crashed once I tried to enter a submenu
(I think it was "Devices", because I wanted to change timezone settings)
Since then, the crashes are immediate. (Maybe it remembered the last
settings-tab?)

I've installed the dbgyms, and running it under gdb produces that
backtrace:

Hi,

The following vulnerabilities were published for nginx.

CVE-2019-9511[0]:
| Some HTTP/2 implementations are vulnerable to window size manipulation
| and stream prioritization manipulation, potentially leading to a
| denial of service. The attacker requests a large amount of data from a
| specified resource over multiple streams. They manipulate window size
| and stream priority to force the server to queue the data in 1-byte
| chunks. Depending on how efficiently this data is queued, this can
| consume excess CPU, memory, or both.

CVE-2019-9513[1]:
| Some HTTP/2 implementations are vulnerable to resource loops,
| potentially leading to a denial of service. The attacker creates
| multiple request streams and continually shuffles the priority of the
| streams in a way that causes substantial churn to the priority tree.
| This can consume excess CPU.

CVE-2019-9516[2]:
| Some HTTP/2 implementations are vulnerable to a header leak,
| potentially leading to a denial of service. The attacker sends a
| stream of headers with a 0-length header name and 0-length header
| value, optionally Huffman encoded into 1-byte or greater headers. Some
| implementations allocate memory for these headers and keep the
| allocation alive until the session dies. This can consume excess
| memory.

If you fix the vulnerabilities please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) ids in your changelog entry.

I'd like to try to port it to qt5. I also try to get some help from more
experienced qt5 developpers or maintainers.

If it is to much work or to difficult we have to drop the package.

Bug#935490: debian-installer: Mouse and keyboard freezes at first screen, choose language

2019-08-23 Thread Marcus
Package: debian-installer
Version: Debian 10 buster
Severity: critical
Tags: d-i
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

Installing from USB stick on a supermicro server.
Tested with netintall, full local install and firmware install iso. All of them
have the same behavior.
At first try came up to where the installer ask for non-free firmware. Went to
fetch them and when I came back mouse and keyboard was frozen.
Tested a number of times and with different iso images with the same result.
The mouse and keyboard freezes on first screen where you choose install
language.
Server only have urb3 ports, and the BIOS were set to usb2 support enabled and
usb3 auto. Tested to change settings but no difference.
Tried to install Debian 9.9 and that worked well without any freeze.
Might be related to bug report: #728226
debian-installer: Install freezes for up to 70 seconds in isolinux

Thanks
Marcus
