Bug#946734: [Pkg-rust-maintainers] Bug#946734: rust-addr2line Build-Depends on librust-fallible-iterator-0.1+default-dev which isn't available

Since then, the status is BD-Uninstallable. Can you please make sure that > we can actually build packages in Debian? Hi Paul, Thank you for your report. We already have a new version of addr2line prepared, but it is still waiting for rust-gimli to pass the NEW queue. In my experience, the packages have been able to build in the past, but became un-buildable due to the update of a dependency (in this case rust-fallible-iterator). I prepared an update of a set of packages, namely rust-{object,fallible-iterator,gimli,addr2line,backtrace} with consistent versions. However, the upload of rust-gimli landed in the NEW queue due to having an additional bin package. The details on the problems we currently have with that can be found in #945542. The whole situation seems stuck and is somewhere between discouraging and demotivating for the whole debian-rust team atm. > Please check https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/rust.html, there is > at > least one more packages like this one: rust-nitrokey-test. Can/should I > reschedule all the red packages or will that fail anyways? I take a look at this page at regular intervals, that was one of the incentives to start working on the set of packages as described above. Can't say for the other packages though. It is well possible that they are in a similar situation. Wolfgang.

Bug#907489: Fixing sambamba 0.8.6

Both BioD and > > Sambamba build well with Meson. > > That is great. We can add the meson builds in the repos. That's something I forgot in my last mail: I didn't create PRs, because Meson support was upstream once but was removed. Also because it's understandable if upstream projects want to reduce the amount of ways a software can be built. As it happens though, I have already created (by accident) build definitions that work for the current upstream code of BioD/Sambamba. I've created PRs for those now. Having this upstream would obviously be great, and if there are issues with it, I can help. (The definitions are really straightforward to use though) See https://github.com/biod/BioD/pull/54 and https://github.com/biod/sambamba/pull/419 Integration with CI is possible, but your Travis YAML will become a bit bigger ^^ > > I applied a few tweaks to the packages, that haven't been there > > before: BioD is now built as a shared as well as a static library, so > > applications can choose between the two. If the last issues can be fixed, this may just be in time for the next Ubuntu LTS release, which is probably something that you'll want ;-) Currently, BioD fails to build on x86: https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=libbiod&arch=i386&ver=0.2.3%2Bgit20191120.b8eecef-1&stamp=1576379323&raw=0 This issue looks trivial to me, it's probably a matter of using size_t instead of plain ints. There's of course also the question of whether we need to support x86 with this package, but in any case, this FTBFS will block the package in unstable until it has either been removed from i386 or the build failure has been fixed. The good news is that the package builds on arm64 now though - yay? ^^ Sambamba is only failing on missing cram_to_bam, so once that's fixed, it should be good to go as well. Cheers, Matthias -- I welcome VSRE emails. See http://vsre.info/

Bug#944426: Still not able to update
Hi! The problem is still there for lazarus-src-2.0_2.0.6+dfsg-3_all.deb. It was actually also there for 2.0.6+dfsg-2 as well as 2.0.6+dfsg-1. I upgraded the nvidia-driver package (version 418) to the newer version 430.40-2 * What was the outcome of this action? Every time I boot my computer with the NVIDIA driver version 430 installed, I end up in an infinite loop between the tty and Xorg starting and instantly crashing. Switching ttys does not seem to work. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I tried rebooting with an older kernel to reinstall the driver, which did not work. I also tried unplugging my second monitor and deleting the xorg.conf file. This didn't help either. I have resorted to using the legacy 390 driver for now. * What outcome did you expect instead? I expected my system to boot normally after the upgrade. I use a GTX 1050 Ti with a dual-monitor setup, one monitor using DVI and one using HDMI. Please stop using Python2, and fix this issue by one of the following actions. - Convert your Package to Python3. This is the preferred option. In case you are providing a Python module foo, please consider dropping the python-foo package, and only build a python3-foo package. Please don't drop Python2 modules, which still have reverse dependencies, just document them. This is the preferred option. - If the package is dead upstream, cannot be converted or maintained in Debian, it should be removed from the distribution. If the package still has reverse dependencies, raise the severity to "serious" and document the reverse dependencies with the BTS affects command. If the package has no reverse dependencies, confirm that the package can be removed, reassign this issue to ftp.debian.org, make sure that the bug priority is set to normal and retitle the issue to "RM: PKG -- removal triggered by the Python2 removal". - If the package has still many users (popcon >= 300), or is needed to build another package which cannot be removed, document that by adding the "py2keep" user tag (not replacing the py2remove tag), using the debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org user. Also any dependencies on an unversioned python package (python, python-dev) must not be used, same with the python shebang. These have to be replaced by python2/python2.7 dependencies and shebang. This is the least preferred option. If the conversion or removal needs action on another package first, please document the blocking by using the BTS affects command, like affects + src:sshfp If there is no py2removal bug for that reverse-dependency, please file a bug on this package (similar to this bug report). If the conversion or removal needs action on another package first, please document the blocking by using the BTS affects command, like affects + src:nut If there is no py2removal bug for that reverse-dependency, please file a bug on this package (similar to this bug report). Bug#940463: fixed in falkon 3.1.0+dfsg1-4
Control: reopen -1 Control: tags -1 unreproducible moreinfo Control: severity -1 normal If 3.1.0+dfsg1-4 doesn't have any changes from 3.1.0+dfsg1-3, why was it uploaded? That uses additional mirror space and rebuilds all of the packages. It also marks the bug as fixed in 3.1.0+dfsg1-4. Instead, if a bug isn't being fixed by a new upload, send the reason you're closing it to 940463-done@b.d.o with a Version: header reflecting if a version does have a fix. > As my last e-mail tells, I "Checked that falkon-3.1.0+dfsg1-3 does not > crash", which can be considered as being unable to reproduce the bug. Bugs shouldn't be closed solely for being unreproducible. Instead, add the tags and contact the submitter. I see you might've been desperate to get Falkon back into testing since the upload was the same day it was removed. Bugs serious, grave, and critical cause removal, so I've downgraded the bug to normal. > I got no reply from Xeno Idaltu , so I believe > that either he is not using falkon again, or he installed falkon's new > package and found the bug fixed. Did you reply to him separately from the bug report? The log doesn't show anyone reaching out to him. Additionally, I'm curious about this changelog entry > falkon (3.1.0+dfsg1-5) unstable; urgency=medium > * removed the dependency on libgnome-keyring-dev, since this package > is no longer part of Debian. Together with the upstream version > change, this ... Closes: #943769 since #943769 doesn't appear to be related to GNOME Keyring. I am also seeking to know why 3.1.0+dfsg1-3 has a +dfsg1-3 since the prior uploads were 3.0 and didn't have the +dfsg1. I haven't been able to find the reason for the change documented. I haven't been able to reproduce the bug. However, I hope my suggestions are helpful for you and that I'll be able to help Falcon in this way. Sincerely, John Scott signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#940463: fixed in falkon 3.1.0+dfsg1-4
Dear John, thank you for your interest in Bug#940463. I got no reply from Xeno Idaltu , so I believe that either he is not using falkon again, or he installed falkon's new package and found the bug fixed. His only e-mail states that he made a fresh install, and gives version numbers for the distribution and dependencies. Sorry, I had no time to reproduce the same installation. As my last e-mail tells, I "Checked that falkon-3.1.0+dfsg1-3 does not crash", which can be considered as being unable to reproduce the bug. The issue seems to be fixed between two upstream releases (falkon 3.0 and falkon 3.1). John, if you want to help about packaging falkon for Debian, you are most welcome. By the way, were you able to reproduce the crash? Best regards, Georges. Bug#946752: intel-opencl-icd: Depends on libigdgmm5, which no longer exists
Package: intel-opencl-icd Version: 19.29.13530-1 Severity: serious Justification: makes package uninstallable This package's debian/control hardcodes a dependency on libigdgmm5. As this library has changed soname to libigdgmm11, this makes it uninstallable. Changing the dependency may well work, but I haven't tested this. ${shlibs:Depends} is meant to automatically track this, but since the Depends _also_ has that and it doesn't produce a dependency on both versions, it may not work for this package.

I've just installed it for the first time in my laptop using Debian 9 stable, and cannot make it run. When I start it from a terminal I get this message: $ kamoso Playing device changed "/dev/video0" Cannot initialize model with data QJsonObject() . missing: QJsonValue(string, "urls") new gamma 119 new gamma 120 file:///usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/QtQuick/Controls/Slider.qml:204:5: QML RangeModel: Binding loop detected for property "value" New saturation 100 New contrast 100 org.kde.kcoreaddons: doesn't know "" Segmentation fault The application seems to open a window but quickly crashes, in less than a second from my commandline. I've tried to launch it from the KDE Plasma menu as well, but nothing happens (I mean, it also crashes). Although the package is unusable, I've set severity to normal because I don't know if this affects any system or only a particular configuration.
