Package: lintian
Version: 2.111.0~bpo11+1, 2.114.0

I discovered during compilation of a (slightly) older package that still uses a
debhelper (>= 12)
compatibility with a debian/compat file stating 12 that the tag
missing-build-dependency-for-dh-addon
is unable to detect the fact that dh-autoreconf is needed when debhelper >= 10
is specified in the
control file or in debian/compat. This resulted in the erroneous errors on
missing dh-autoreconf
in xca, where it's not needed by debhelper >= 12 with a compat file stating 12.

This does not trigger when using "debhelper-compat (= 12)" in debian/control
without the debian/compat
file, however the tag information and description I saw was this when triggered
on mentors.debian.org:

autoreconf => dh-autoreconf | debhelper (>= 9.20160403~) | debhelper-compat

This suggests that if in debian/control you have a "debhelper (>= 9.20160403~)"
line (which
"debhelper (>= 12)" qualifies), OR you have debhelper-compat, that this should
not trigger.

HOWEVER, this triggers unless debhelper-compat is present in the build-depends,
suggesting the tag is
NOT being correctly matched during Lintian runs if multi-level compatibility or
experimental debhelper
compatibility (hence "debian/compat" and "debhelper >= 12" being present in a
given package) based on
what I've read in manpages.

This looks like erroneous tag detection. Note that if you put in dh-autoreconf
into build-deps it
triggers the as-expected useless-autoreconf-build-depends tag.

This currently triggers on the XCA package as uploaded to mentors.debian.net
yesterday - both versions
of the package (the one with dh-autoreconf in build-deps and the verison with
debian/compat and
"debhelper (>= 12)" in debian/control) exist to show this distinction, and both
packages in sid sbuild
chroots reproduce this behavior.

Bug#1014034: rust-hdrhistogram: autopkgtest failure on i386

2022-06-28 Thread Peter Michael Green

Package: rust-hdrhistogram
Version: 7.5.0-1
Severity: serious

I recently updated the hdrhistogram package and as part of that I
resolved the issues that were blocking the tests from running on as
autopkgtests.

Unfortunately when running the autopkgtests on i386 two tests failed, I
can also reproduce this locally.

Hm... I have reproduced the issue for the reported version and the issue went
away on updating
to the new upstream version.

Perhaps I'm missing something … it seems to me that this patch is
to be appplied onto version 1.2, not 2.0 – and the verrsion nbdkit was
most recently built with is 2.0.6.

Package: librhash0
Version: 1.4.2-1
Severity: serious

librhash0 should no longer recommend libssl1.1 due to the OpenSSL 3
transition.

BTW, librhash0 just provides /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/librhash.so.0,
which doesn't appear to use any libssl. Moreover,

  strings -a /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/librhash.so.0 | grep -i ssl

outputs nothing.

Bug#1006389: libdigidoc: FTBFS with OpenSSL 3.0

2022-06-28 Thread William Wilson
The following patch resolves the FTBFS:

```
Description: Resolve FTBFS with OpenSSL v3
 This package uses some deprecated OCSP constants. There is a history
 of defining them manually once they are removed from openssl. This
 patch continues that behavior with two additional constants that
 are not defined in openssl v3
[This bug is not targeted to the upcoming bullseye release]
Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for.  If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.
The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-11/g++-11, but succeeds to build with gcc-10/g++-10. The
severity of this report will be raised before the bookworm release,
so nothing has to be done for the bullseye release.
The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/20210228/filtered/gcc11/zookeeper_3.4.13-6_unstable_gcc11.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.
To build with GCC 11, either set CC=gcc-11 CXX=g++-11 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.
  apt-get -t=experimental install g++
Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with
-Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files.
For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-11/porting_to.html
GCC 11 defaults to the GNU++17 standard.  If your package installs
header files in /usr/include, please don't work around C++17 issues
by choosing a lower C++ standard for the package build, but fix these
issues to build with the C++17 standard.
Hi.
The release notes for https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.6.3/releasenotes.html
list various security issues:
CVE-2020-25649
CVE-2021-21295
CVE-2021-28165
CVE-2021-21409
It's a bit unclear to me  whether 3.4 is affected to, but since 3.5.x versions
seem
to be, I'd guess the issues go back longer and may affect 3.4 as well.
I would guess that 3.4.x has no upstream support anymore.
Cheers,
Chirs.
Changes:
 zookeeper (3.8.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * Team upload
   * New upstream version 3.8.0 (Closes: #927673):
 - Checking it is affected by no known security vulnerability
   (Closes: #990345)
 - Checking it does not use xml2-config anymore (Closes: #949517)
 - Checking the package does not FTBFS with gcc-11 (Closes: #984406)
   * Refreshing patches
   * Building with Maven, adapting B-D, refreshing d/rules and adapting install
 paths accordingly
   * Adapting install paths after switching to Maven
   * Updates in debian/control:
 - Depending on debhelper-compat 13
 - Removing X-Python3-Version field
 - Raising Standards version to 4.6.1 (no change)
 - Adding a Pre-Depends field in d/control for zookeeperd so that it
   pre-depends on init-system-helpers
 -  zookeeper needs to depend on default-jre, not only the headless version
   * Refreshing d/copyright
   * Updating / refreshing the packaging style:
 - New upstream signing keys
 - Rewriting d/watch, set to version 4, no repack
 - Removing debian/gbp.conf
 - Removing debian/orig-tar.sh, repacking is done via debian/copyright
 - Set upstream metadata fields: Bug-Database, Repository,
   Repository-Browse.
   * Providing patches related to the new Maven build:
 - Adding missing versions of some Maven plugins in the POM files
 - Skipping the unpackaged Timeout annotations in the tests
 - Using the ValueSource annotation with ints instead of booleans, which are
   not available in Debian-package junit5
 - Omitting the TempDir annotation in the tests, as it is not available yet
 - Correcting call to deprecated method in Bouncycastle
 -  Switching from test-jar type to tests classifier in the POM files
 - Omitting the dependency of the assembly POM on the
   zookeeper-prometheus-metrics jar, which cannot be built right now
 - Adding missing artifacts in the zookeeper-contrib-rest POM file
 - Skipping some classes because of unpackaged org.openjdk-jmh package
 - Building the Python3 artifacts without OpenSSL
 - Omitting test classes needing junit5 unpackaged classes or attempting to
   use the network
   * Correcting tiny spelling errors in the code
   * Reworking debian/rules:
 - Updating the overrides of dh_clean and dh_auto_clean
 - Stopping parsing changelog in d/rules
   * Providing an up-to-date d/libzookeeper-java.manifest file, updating
 dependencies of the binary package
Bug#1004815: qtox: FTBFS with ffmpeg 5.0
2022-06-28 Thread Nicholas Guriev
On March 7th, upstream author Anthony Bilinski released new version 1.17.6
addressing this issue. We should package it as far as possible in order to
unblock FFmpeg transition.
I am working on an NMU and discovered that Git packaging repository which
d/control refers to, does not match source uploaded to Debian. However, both
mention package version 1.17.4-1.
Bug#1013938: balboa: regression + flaky autopkgtest: regularly times out on amd64, i386 and s390x
2022-06-28 Thread Paul Gevers
Hi Sascha,
On 27-06-2022 22:19, Sascha Steinbiss wrote:
I noticed that there were several runs that took 2:47 (our timeout
time), while successful runs more in the order of minutes. This
started to happen recently.
This is likely related to #1012629 [1] (also see #1012804 [2]), a hang
issue that was in fact caused by rocksdb and was eventually fixed in
rocksdb 7.2.2-5. Could the version that is tested in the autopkgtest and
its dependencies be still affected by that?
I was suspecting something like that.
On top of that, when a test just hangs that's not good for our
infrastructure. I'll put balboa on our reject_list for amd64, i386,
and s390x.
I see. I wonder what the procedure to get off that list is?
Normally closing this bug. :) However, for testing to get fixed, we need
rocksdb to migrate (which is currently stalled due to binutils and
gcc-12 issues). Let's assume that will happen some time.
Bug#1014003: iwyu 0.18 requires clang-14
2022-06-28 Thread Alejandro Colomar
Package: iwyu
Version: 8.18-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
X-Debbugs-Cc: alx.manpa...@gmail.com
Hi,
iwyu 0.18 requires clang 14 to work, as specified on their documentation.
Having an older version of clang causes iwyu to fail for the most basic
stuff, such as finding compiler builtin headers (e.g., ).
Just by installing the correct clang version, the problem was fixed
(I'm not sure if installing a clang library, without installing the full
clang would have been enough, though).
Cheers,
Alex
node-memfs extends interfaces from nodejs,
but types are not matching.
See attached log.
Hi, while rebuilding node-babel7 with nodejs 18.4.0,
it failed at some point, see attached log.
Not sure it's related to node 18, though.
Cheers,
Hi,
I'm unable to reproduce this issue with nodejs from unstable. I just
uploaded a new node-babel7 version, could you retry ?
Bug#1013993: node-react-highlighter: FTBFS Cannot find module 'uglifyjs-webpack-plugin'
2022-06-28 Thread Jérémy Lal
Source: node-react-highlighter
Version: 0.4.3+repack1-1
Severity: serious
Tags: ftbfs
Justification: fails to build from source
Seen while rebuilding with node 18.4.0.
However it is probably caused by recent changes in webpack.
Bug#1013988: node-blob: FTBFS with nodejs 18.4.0
2022-06-28 Thread Jérémy Lal
Source: node-blob
Version: 0.0.4-3
Severity: serious
Tags: ftbfs
Justification: fails to build from source
node >= 18 exports Blob already,
making node-blob fail.
I suggest node-blob should be removed,
it is a leaf package without reverse build-deps.
Bug#1013985: golang-github-evanw-esbuild: ftbfs in experimental
2022-06-28 Thread Jérémy Lal
Source: golang-github-evanw-esbuild
Happened when doing a nodejs 18.4.0 migration check.
However it doesn't look like it is related to node at all.
See attached log.
Bug#1013984: r-cran-v8: configure assumes V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS=true but it is not
2022-06-28 Thread Jérémy Lal
Source: r-cran-v8
Version: 4.2.0+dfsg-1
Severity: serious
Tags: ftbfs
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)
When building r-cran-v8 against nodejs 18.4.0 in experimental,
this happened:
# Fatal error in , line 0
# Embedder-vs-V8 build configuration mismatch. On embedder side pointer
compression is ENABLED while on V8 side it's DISABLED.
It is true that nodejs is built with V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS=false,
so r-cran-v8 detection has a problem.
This will prevent migration of nodejs 18 to testing,
so I'll gladly make a quick patch to fix the build.
Jérémy
I took the "unless" as an invitation: Rust crates tokio-rstls and
hyper-rustls have now been packaged and are pending NEW approval.
Please consider postponing removal of rustls support until that NEW
processing is done.
Hi,
During a selected rebuild of python packages in sid, your package failed
to build with pytest version 7.1.2-1.
The full build log is available from:
http://qa-logs.debian.net/2022/06/09/pytest/python-protobix_1.0.2-11_unstable_pytest-exp.log
I had a closer look at the error log and identified the regression as:
'plugin distutils failed with: exit code=5'. Hopefully, that's helpful!
All bugs filed during this rebuild are listed at:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?tag=pytest7;users=debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org
or:
https://udd.debian.org/bugs/?release=na=ign=7=7=only=pytest7=debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org=1=1=1=1#results
If you reassign this bug to another package, please mark it as
'affects'-ing this package. See
https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control#affects
If you fail to reproduce this, please provide a build log and diff it
with the one provided so that we can identify if something relevant
changed in the meantime.
