Bug#838192: zfs-dkms: ZFS fails to build when version <> spl version

2016-09-18 Thread Achim Schaefer
Package: zfs-dkms
Version: 0.6.5.7-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

spl was recently updated to version 0.6.5.8

zfs-dkms required to have the same version number than the spl package.
When there is a higher version istalled, the zfs-package does not build.

Thanks

The above looks exactly the same.

Minor diffs for the -v above, but nothing special

Bug#589873: grub-pc: fails to install in mbr during postinstall

2010-07-21 Thread Achim Schaefer
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100720-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

During postinstall I get the question on which drives to install grub in the
mbr.
I choose all three (as always in the past).

Now the postinstall fails with:
Richte grub-pc ein (1.98+20100720-1) ...
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no such disk.
Auto-detection of a filesystem module failed.
Please specify the module with the option `--modules' explicitly.
 for every drive.

And same error some lines below:
Generating grub.cfg ...
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no such disk.

For a new installation this would case a non functional boot.
As it seems nothing was touched, I assume my system will still boot-)

Bug#582818: parted can delete active partition -> Dataloss!

2010-05-23 Thread Achim Schaefer
Package: parted
Version: 2.2-5
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

I just used parted to delete a mounted partition.

How to reproduce:
- empty partition table
- create 2 partitions (in the normal way first partion is physically before the
secound)
- mount the secound one (of course create a filesystem, ...)
- delete the first partion
=> there is an error message teh kernel can not read the new table, because the
second is still mounted
=> now parted shows only one partion(as the first one!)
- delete the first partition (even so still mounted)

I did the same on a disk with 6 partitions 6 was the mounted one, and I deleted
partiton 5

Bug#563006: sasl2-bin: should debpend on db4.8-util

2009-12-29 Thread Achim Schaefer
Package: sasl2-bin
Version: 2.1.23.dfsg1-4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

when upgrading from an older version the postinst script tries to upgrade to
the new db format.
But the new utils package is not a dependency, so as on my box it is not
installed.
=> the upgrade fails

Please change the dependency from db4.7-util to db4.8-util.
After manual install the upgrade worked fine.

Thanks

I reverted to the testing version, (1.2.e1.dfsg.1-4 ist testing.
This one still works with current cyrus version.

As I wrote in another mail, I think you might add some conflicts with packages
known to cause trouble. I'm happy to wait, until the programs are recompiled,
but has someone triggered the recompile?
(Maybe due to the new .26?)

At least I think it should not move to testing until this recompile is done
and only together with all recompiled packages.

As well currently apt will install the new libs, even if this leaves the
system unusable (at least the mail part), so a normal user might have trouble
to revert back, maybe they don't even know what to do.

Sorry but I think setting the known package versions as a conflict would be
very good.

Bug#527495: actually it seems to be libsasl2 or libsasl2-modules

2009-05-09 Thread Achim Schaefer
HI,

I downgraded my system back to stable (as far as possible, and it worked
again.
so I upgraded lib by lib's, and finally I found 2 lib's which cause the
trouble.

upgrading libsasl2-2 and libsasl2-modules
from version 2.1.22.dfsg1-23 to version libsasl2-2 2.1.22.dfsg1-23+b1.

See bug #527161

Bug#527495: cyrus-imapd-2.2: service imap pid xxxx in BUSY state: terminated abnormally

2009-05-07 Thread Achim Schaefer
Package: cyrus-imapd-2.2
Version: 2.2.13-14+b3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

As soon as I connect (with kmail4.2.2) to the imap daemon, I get the follwoing
mesages in syslog:
May 7 22:46:51 data cyrus/master[16661]: process 16682 exited, signaled to
death by 11
May 7 22:46:51 data cyrus/master[16661]: service imap pid 16682 in BUSY state:
terminated abnormally

Of course the mail application does not get any data, but reports a lost
connection.

Thanks

Achim
