Bug#932881: add dependency on logsave

2019-07-23 Thread Aleksi Suhonen

Package: initramfs-tools
Severity: grave
Version: 0.133

After upgrading e2fsprogs to 1.45.3-1, computer fails to boot because
rootfs fails to fsck. And fsck fails because binary for logsave is
missing. Or in fact, fsck doesn't fail, but the init script reports it
did, because it cannot tell the difference...

This is because logsave has just been split into its own package
"logsave." The initrd builder scripts should depend on it, except it
seems that not all hardware platforms have the logsave package yet...

Excerpt from the other package's changelog:

e2fsprogs (1.45.3-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream version
  * Automatic online file system scrubs is now disabled by default.
They can be enabled by editing /etc/e2scrub.conf.
...
  * Only require the udev, systemd, and cron build dependencies when
building on Linux. (Closes: #931266)
  * Move logsave to its own package. (Closes: #923372)
  * Update the Czech and Dutch translations

Bug#839010: reopen bug

2016-10-03 Thread Aleksi Suhonen

Hi,

Bug 839010 was filed against Debian/stable AND Debian/unstable. There is
a fix for the stable package, but according to the opening statement of
the bug, it is still found in the unstable package at version
1:9.10.3.dfsg.P4-10.1, which is the newest package version in unstable.

So the bug cannot be closed until it has been fixed in both branches.
1:9.9.5.dfsg-9+deb8u7 doesn't upgrade 1:9.10.3.dfsg.P4-10.1. What am I
missing?

Bug#839010: CVE-2016-2776 and sid?

2016-10-03 Thread Aleksi Suhonen
Hello,

Does the patch for this bug clash with some Debian special patch, or why
isn't it being applied to the sid package?

Best regards,

Bug#634261: iceweasel 5.0 does not start on sparc, bus error

Bug#567906: ssmtp.conf file permissions are wrong

2010-01-31 Thread Aleksi Suhonen
Package: ssmtp
Version: 2.64-1
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

The configuration file /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf is not readable
by everybody, but ssmtp itself is run without any special privileges:

zsh% ls -l /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf /usr/sbin/ssmtp
-rw-r- 1 root mail 607 Dec 9 12:49 /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 36168 Nov 24 03:33 /usr/sbin/ssmtp*
zsh%

I've been running ssmtp for a long time just fine. I'm not
sure if this problem is a result of a broken package upgrade
script or something else. I failed to notice when it broke,
but it was probably in November. I only noticed it today and
it's the same on all my machines, whether sparc or intel and
32bit or 64bit.

I set the severity to critical, since other packages such as
cron and checksecurity depend on a working sendmail. I suppose
this could even be classified as a security vulnerability.

iceweasel fails completely to start on sparc.

Can you try again with a more recent libc ?

iceweasel 3.0.12-1 + libc6 2.9-20 seems to work now. Thanks.

Bug#535092: iceweasel fails to start on sparc, bus error

2009-06-29 Thread Aleksi Suhonen
Package: iceweasel

iceweasel fails completely to start on sparc. An identical installation
on i386 works just fine. I made a new clean debian installation using
the newest unstable netboot installation image I could find to test this
in case my pre-lenny-unstable environment was somehow broken, but the
clean debian/unstable (this host) exhibits the same problem.

I don't have any plugins or similar installed, because I can't start the
browser to be able to add them.

iceweasel-dbg doesn't reveal much:
