I think also that it is the best solution for now. Upstream is aware of the issues on 64-bit architecture. I will try to work on it with him in the futur. Bug#391237: liquidwar-server: file conflict with liquidwar

Yes, you are right. Liquidwar-server should replace liquidwar (<5.6.2-2). I hope I will be able to correct his bug for next week. Bug#317493: liquidwar: makes awful noise on start and crashes on exit
Hello, If you have the time, can you try the last version of the package (5.6.2-2) to see if the default is still present (I have no AMD64)? Can you send the result of ' ldd /usr/games/liquidwar '? Very strange. At home (on i386), If I remove this file, it is created again by liquidwar! Can you try again and check for the configuration file? In any case, I send you a configuration file so you can try liquidwar with the configuration file. Just rename it in .liquidwarrc. > Sorry to let you down, but I don't have liballegro4.1 installed (I > tried apt-get removing it, but it said the package was not installed.) > Just in case, I tried removing liballegro4a, and it said that > liquidwar would have to be removed as well, so I do have liballegro4a > installed and liquidwar is depending properly on it. So it's not that. Does the game fail on exit systematically? I have reproduced some fails on exit but of course now all works perfectly. I cannot reproduce it now! Can you try liquidwar without sound? (liquidwar -silent) Without full screen option? (FULLSCREEN = 0 in .liquidwarrc) Can you search in /var/log/messages for error messages related to sound card (or other)? Hope this will help. Regards. I suspect two different things to explain your issue. First, a corrupted liquidwarrc file. Can you send it to me? Second, a "strange" behaviour when you have liballegro4.1 and liballegro4a installed on the same machine. Indeed, I have reproduced a similar issue with liballegro4.1 installed, an everything works well if there is only allegro4a installed. Can you try to remove liballegro4.1 (I'm near sure that this package is installed on your machine) Best regards.
