Bug#606371: severity
Hi Modestas Some update within the last days seems to resolve the problem. May be the kernel-update? Now I can open the settings dialog without any problem. So I think, you can close these bug. Cheers Andreas 2010/12/10 Andreas Jacob andreasja...@gmx.de: Hi Modestas You are right. Grave might be a little bit to excessive. You can feel free to downgrad the severity. But for me the package is actually not usable. Because I can not configure/add any instant messaging account. An an instant messenger, where you can not add your accounts is some kind of strange. ;-) You said, that would be a result of a missconfigured TV-Card. But when I look at upstreams comment #4, i would interprete it as an device access problem from kopete. Bug#606371: kopete: Kopete freezes immediately when opening opening settings dialog (TV-card present in system)
Package: kopete Version: 4:4.4.5-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable When I try to open the kopete settings dialog, and the dialog pops up, kopete freezes immediately. I've searched upstream for a similar bug and found someone: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=241507 . As in descriped in the upstream bugreport I have a TV card in my computer (Hauppauge). Here ist the relevant output of lspci: 01:01.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05) 01:01.1 Multimedia controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [IR Port] (rev 05) And here is the output, when starting kopete from the command line: libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler VIDIOC_DQBUF error 5, Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler VIDIOC_DQBUF error 5, Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler is german for input/output error. As seen in the resolved upstream bug message, the error should have been fixed upstream some month ago. May be it's a regression of that bug? As an additional note: in my apt sources.list I use the debian-multimedia repository. Bug#554506: can confirm these bug
It seems to be a problem of udev. Today I downgraded udev and libudev0 to version 160-1, then startet with a working initrd, und build a initrd from within the system and i get i functional initrd with a cryptroot file. So i think, these bugs are related: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=554506 (cryptsetup) http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=593375 (udev) http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=595157 (udev) http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=582177 (initramfs-tools) LLAP Andreas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#554506: can confirm these bug
Hello list-users When I running in to these problem, i used a available grml live CD (grml64_2009.10 - kernel 2.6.31.5 http://grml.org/changelogs/README-grml-2009.10/) to fix the problem. Within the live-CD i - opened the luks partiotion - mounted the lvm logical volumes - mount -o bind /dev /mnt/chroot/dev - mount -o bind /sys /mnt/chroot/sys - mount -o bind /proc /mnt/chroot/proc - chrooted into /mnt/chroot - update-initramfs -k all -u - get a working initrd The only difference between the initrd created when chrooting with help of the live-CD and the pure system should be found within /dev or /proc or /sys. As mentioned above, grml 2009.10 uses kernel 2.6.31.5, where the actual squeeze kernel is: 2.6.32-5. May be there is a different handling of UUIDs in later kernels? The cryptroot file, created within the working initrd contains the following line: target=cryptedlvm,source=UUID=89569373----,key=none,rootdev,lvm=vgmolchi-lvrootdir LLAP Andreas
Bug#591422: [plasma-scriptengine-python] Failed on 64 systems with: AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'relpath'
I have a installed python version 2.6 (2.6.6rc1+). I have als a installed version 2.5.5-6, but the 2.6 version seems to be the default, when running the python command from console. It seems to be, that the KDE scriptengine uses the older python version as default. So where can I change the default KDE python scriptengine? Bug#586143: Doesn't boot: Unaligned pointer 4c191bea
Hi Colin I think, i 've found the solution, why there was no stage2 file in my /boot/grub directory. Yesterday morning, i was looking around in /boot/grub and inspected the menu.lst file. There was a note, which was saying to run the upgrade-from-grub-legacy script, when grub2 is working. So i did these on yesterday morning. Today, i looked inside the /usr/sbin/upgrade-from-grub-legacy script, and found, that these script probably deleted the stage2 file. In other words, the chance, that the stage2 file were present, when running into tis error might be verry close to 100 percent. ;-) Thanx for your work Andreas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Nope, the file /boot/grub/stage2 is actually (system works) not present in the given directory, or elsewhere under /boot. Cheers Andreas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
Bug#586143: Doesn't boot: Unaligned pointer 4c191bea
Hi Colin Could it be that grub-install, or your patched debug version did remove the stage2 file? When I execute a grub-install, it seems to touch or to rewrite almost all files under /boot/grub. May be it also deletes the stage2 file? Unfortunately i have no backup from /boot where i can look if these file were there before. But I did the grub update within a safe-upgrade, shuted down my laptop, an 2 hours later on rebooting there was the described behaviour. Meanwhile it's impossible for me to reproduce the error. As i can read here, some other people have also no stage2 file but the same behavior. This couldn't be contretemps. In that case, I think you have some different problem, since the other respondents on this bug (including the original reporter) have /boot/grub/stage2 and I have a pretty complete theory for how that could cause this bug. I run also in these problem. And like bsimon1 sayed, a grub-install did fix the problem. I assume, that there could be a problem with the update-script which leaves grub stalled. I checked /var/log/apt/term.log, and there where no error-message when updating grub. Cheers Andreas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
