Bug#403022: Non-existent vlcintf.xpt file!

2006-12-13 Thread Arias Hung

Package: mozilla-plugin-vlc
Version: 0.8.6-svn20061012.debian-1
Severity: grave

The file /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/components/vlcintf.xpt is apparently
non-existent since all it is is a relative symbolic link to vlcintf.xpt in the
/usr/lib/mozilla/components directory which is NOT provided by this package.

e.g.

$ ls -l /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/components/
total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 36 2006-12-13 21:16 vlcintf.xpt -
../../mozilla/components/vlcintf.xpt

The above is a broken symbolic link since this package does NOT provide
vlcintf.xpt in /usr/lib/mozilla/components:

$ dpkg -L  mozilla-plugin-vlc
/.
/usr
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/mozilla
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libvlcplugin.so
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/components
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/libvlcplugin.so
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/components/vlcintf.xpt
/usr/share/doc/mozilla-plugin-vlc

This is probably the source of all the outstanding bugs for this package these
past few months.

Bug#380306: gkrellm: error of: COMP_WORDS: bad array subscript when executing from commandline

2006-07-29 Thread Arias Hung

Package: gkrellm
Version: 2.2.9-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

This used to be one of my favorite packages, until an upgrade rendered it
useless some months back. I kept expecting it to be fixed sooner rather than later,
but 3 months after the fact and despite purging and re-installing there seem to be the
same issues.

When trying to run it from command line:

$ gkrellm
bash: COMP_WORDS: bad array subscript

This occurs irrespective of what account I try to run it from.

ALTHOUGH, I've found that it DOES work when attempting to strace it.

$ strace gkrellm

Will fire it up as I expect.

Please advise.

Bug#366370: hald dies upon startup

2006-05-08 Thread Arias Hung

On Mon, 08 May 2006, Sjoerd Simons delivered in simple text monotype:

# hald --daemon=yes --verbose=yes
17:29:12.443 [I] hald.c:469: hal 0.5.7
17:29:12.443 [I] hald.c:478: Will daemonize
17:29:12.443 [I] hald.c:479: Becoming a daemon

What happens if you run with --daemon=no --verbose=yes ?

---snip---

Nothing happens. It doesn't like it enough to provide the flags menu:

# hald --daemon=no --verbose=y

usage : hald [--daemon=yes|no] [--verbose=yes|no] [--help]

--daemon=yes|no Become a daemon
--verbose=yes|no Print out debug (overrides HALD_VERBOSE)
--use-syslog Print out debug messages to syslog instead of
stderr.
Use this option to get debug messages if HAL runs
as
 daemon.
--help Show this information and exit
--versionOutput version information and exit
The HAL daemon detects devices present in the system and provides the
org.freedesktop.Hal service through the system-wide message bus provided
by D-BUS.

Bug#366370: hald dies upon startup

2006-05-07 Thread Arias Hung

Package: hal
Version: 0.5.7-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

hald dies upon startup despite stating that it's becoming a daemon:

# hald --daemon=yes --verbose=yes

17:29:12.443 [I] hald.c:478: Will daemonize
17:29:12.443 [I] hald.c:479: Becoming a daemon

# ps -ef | grep hal
