Package: memtest86+ Severity: normal I recently had this same problem, too (now solved by forcing the sid packages as mentioned in #586815 #550704 etc)
In my system the "dummy transitional package" grub still exists, but even then memtest86+ (now?) suggests grub-pc | grub-legacy Since this is just a suggestion there should be no problem with it even in your config (suggestion there, too). I'd say this is a bug just triggered by memtest86+ since there were not that many kernel-updates recently and belongs to grub2. That's the joy of "testing". Every year or so debian wants to show that testing != stable, it seems ;-) @maintainer: please reassign and merge with #586815 or so. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages memtest86+ depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.32 Debian configuration management sy memtest86+ recommends no packages.
