Bug#756622: fusioninventory-agent runs spuriously update /etc/blkid.tab
ROUSSEAU Dominique d.rouss...@nnx.com writes: Hi Dominique, Thank you for the bug report, When running fusioninventory-agent it calls /sbin/blkid if installed, which cause an update of /etc/blkid.tab (maybe this bug should filed against package containing blkid ?) No blkid manpage is very clear about the status of /etc/blkid.tab and suggest to do that instead: blkid -w /dev/null I think the /etc/blkid.tab should be stored in /var since it's a cache. The bug already exists and has been closed some days ago ( http://bugs.debian.org/557707 ). I pushed a patch upstream to fix the situation: https://github.com/fusinv/fusioninventory-agent/commit/72a0e5316431f72c27664918ca3adf5a64522927 I don't know if it will be easy to get the patch accepted in stable. You probably have a screen with a resolution lower than 1024x768, the game doesn't react correctly if it fails to open a display. Can you try to start the game with: bloboats --resolution=800x600 By the way, like I mentioned to Barry via IRC, the package doesn't have an un/patch target and doesn't respect the debug and noopt DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS options; you should fix that. Done on svn. One of the obvious errors on the code is that while SDL_SetVideoMode takes a Uint32 for the flags, the code passes an integer which, as soon as SDL_FULLSCREEN is added, is overflowed, turning into a negative integer. Attached is the fix for that bug. While this doesn't fix the segfault it is one bug less (although I expect many, similar, bugs to be there on the code). What did help get the game's screen was commenting out the SDL_FULLSCREEN-related line in main.cpp; although after a few seconds the screen got corrupted and had to SIGTERM it. This is the backtrace from the code with the attached patch applied: I'll apply it and forward it to upstream. Cheers, Gonéri Le Bouder signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#521213: ocsinventory-agent: Fails to install/upgrade
Hi Cyril, I found the reason why I missed that... mktemp (1.6-2) unstable; urgency=low * Bump to Standards-Version 3.8.1. * Use mkstemp and mkdtemp from libc instead of private internal code. This raises the minimum number of trailing X's to the minimum enforced by libc. -- Clint Adams sch...@debian.org Mon, 23 Mar 2009 20:17:45 -0400 signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#421566: vdrift: wrong architecture limitations in debian/control (alpha)
On Mon, Apr 30, 2007 at 11:16:13AM +0300, Eddy Petrișor wrote: Steve Langasek wrote: Package: vdrift Version: 0.0.2006.10.06-1 Severity: serious Justification: release policy, Packages must be supported on as many architectures as is reasonably possible Hi Gonéri, The vdrift package is marked as only being buildable on amd64, i386, ia64, and powerpc. This is wrong; the code builds fine on alpha, arm, and mipsel, and is only prevented from being uploaded by this architecture list. I see in the bug log of 400596 that a member of the security team has offered the opinion that vdrift should not be built on arm because there's no need for a 3d-intense game on an embedded arch, but this reasoning does not apply to alpha and mipsel which are not embedded architectures and may very well have suitable 3d-accelerated hardware. Please reenable the build on alpha and mipsel. The attached patch should suffice. It is highly possible that vdrift will be removed from the archive. We recently found that it contains some non-free parts from a commercial game. I am not sure it those parts are so critical that a clean-up wouldn't do it, but Goneri already requested its removal (although I raised that question and never got a clear answer, iirc). All the tracks are derivated material from EA Sports. Upstream know the problem and as soon as the release a new tarball I will package it and will add alpha, arm, and mipsel in the arch list. Kurt Roeckx wrote: Package: boson-base Version: 0.11-4 Severity: serious Hi, Hello, From your last changelog: * boson-base: architecture amd64 removed You will need a good reason not to build it only only amd64. Looking at #354971, it says that it crashed on amd64. And the result also was that you don't build for amd64 anymore. Yes Boson 0.11 crash on AMD64. The problem is fixed on upstream svn but no patch will be backported. The problem is hard to trace and upstream team doesn't have time to do a patch. If you do a patch a should be glade to apply it. I doubt this is amd64 specific. It's not because it's reported on amd64 that other arches aren't affected as well. It works on Sparc64. I don't have another 64bit computer so i prefere to just remove AMD64 from the list. IMO it's a probleme with 64bit little endian. Regards, Gonéri
