Bug#756622: fusioninventory-agent runs spuriously update /etc/blkid.tab

2014-08-05 Thread Gonéri Le Bouder
ROUSSEAU Dominique d.rouss...@nnx.com writes:

Hi Dominique,

Thank you for the bug report,

When running fusioninventory-agent it calls /sbin/blkid if installed, which
 cause an update of /etc/blkid.tab
(maybe this bug should filed against package containing blkid ?)
No blkid manpage is very clear about the status of /etc/blkid.tab and
suggest to do that instead:
blkid -w /dev/null
I think the /etc/blkid.tab should be stored in /var since it's a cache.
The bug already exists and has been closed some days ago
( http://bugs.debian.org/557707 ).

I pushed a patch upstream to fix the situation:
https://github.com/fusinv/fusioninventory-agent/commit/72a0e5316431f72c27664918ca3adf5a64522927

I don't know if it will be easy to get the patch accepted in stable.

Hi Thomas and Ivo,

The build still fails on all architectures. There is probably something that
happens in the local build in your environment that doesn't work on the
 buildds.
I'm afraid that's the problem.

I managed to rebuild the package on fresh i386 and amd64 cowbuild env
with no problem.

Bug#737223: mumble: run time linker fails on new libprotobuf8

2014-02-03 Thread Gonéri Le Bouder
Hi all,

Okay, we've figured out that this is an issue with libprotobuf8.
 mumble 1.2.4-0.1 works with libprotobuf8 2.5.0-3 and -5, but not -6 or -7.
I just rebuilt mumble and that was enough to get it working.

ii libprotobuf-dev:amd64 2.5.0-7
amd64protocol buffers C++ library (development files)
ii libprotobuf-lite8:amd64 2.5.0-7
amd64protocol buffers C++ library (lite version)

amd64protocol buffers C++ library
ii libprotobuf8:amd642.5.0-7
amd64protocol buffers C++ library
ii mumble1.2.4-0.1

To me, this is just an ABI breakage from libprotobuf8. A simple bin-NMU
should be enough to resolve the situation.

Hi Julien,

Proc::Daemon is used to identify already running fusioninventory-agent

Did that a couple of days ago, no difference.
I found the bug. You probably have a screen with a resolution lower than
1024x768, the game doesn't react correctly if it fails to open a display.
Can you try to start the game with:

bloboats --resolution=800x600

By the way, like I mentioned to Barry via IRC, the package doesn't have an
un/patch target and doesn't respect the debug and noopt DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS
 options; you should fix that.
Done on svn.

One of the obvious errors on the code is that while SDL_SetVideoMode takes a
Uint32 for the flags, the code passes an integer which, as soon as
SDL_FULLSCREEN is added, is overflowed, turning into a negative integer.
Attached is the fix for that bug.

While this doesn't fix the segfault it is one bug less (although I expect
many, similar, bugs to be there on the code). What did help get the game's
 screen was commenting out the SDL_FULLSCREEN-related line in main.cpp;
although after a few seconds the screen got corrupted and had to SIGTERM it.

This is the backtrace from the code with the attached patch applied:
I'll apply it and forward it to upstream.

Cheers,

  Gonéri Le Bouder

I've the feeling the problem come from your libgl1-mesa-glx from experimental.
Can you please upgrade your sysetem.

I tried to get the debug symbols of the package from debug.d.n but it they
 are not available for i386.
It's probably because I built the package on my own machin. Is there
anything I can do to avoid that?

Hi Cyril,

I found the reason why I missed that...

mktemp (1.6-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Bump to Standards-Version 3.8.1.
  * Use mkstemp and mkdtemp from libc instead of private internal code.
This raises the minimum number of trailing X's to the minimum
enforced by libc.

Hi,

libphobos-XXX-dev contains the standard header files used by gdc. This package
doesn't exist yet on Sparc and so gdc can't build D program (#461101).

Instead of keeping a broken gdc package in Debian, wouldn't be more
simple and logic to remove sparc from its supported arch list?

Bug#439973: boson: Segmentation Fault on startup

2008-01-26 Thread Gonéri Le Bouder
on #boson IRC channel:
goneri | Hi rivo, I've a problem with Boson in Debian
http://bugs.debian.org/439973 , can I have your opinion about it?
rivo | goneri: lack of current opengl context might indeed be a problem
rivo | I don't remember anymore why boglInit() was called very early at
startup, before there was any opengl context, but I think there was a reason for
 it
rivo | oh, I think we dlopen the opengl library to load the symbols which
obviusly has to be done before the context can be created
rivo | the solution might be either to first dlopen the library, load
necessary symbols to init context, init context and then resolve rest of the
 symbols
rivo | or to use something like glew to resolve them for us (glew doesn't
dlopen the library though, so I'm not sure about it)
rivo | but... with boson development being inactive lately, I'm not sure
if it would be fixed anytime soon as it's not a trivial fix :-(

Zangband is a single-player, roguelike game, based on Angband. Like
Angband, Zangband features unique foes, artifacts, monster pits and

sorcery, nature, chaos, death magic), a different monster list,

There is no new upstream release since 2003, the game is in non-free and
I've afraid there is more popular game to take care before.

Bug#436917: packages builded against plib 1.8.4-7 can't run with 1.8.4-6

2007-08-09 Thread Gonéri Le Bouder
Package: plib1.8.4c2
Version: 1.8.4-7
Severity: serious
Tag: patch

Hello,

A package builded with plib 1.8.4-7 but depends on plib1.8.4c2 1.8.4-7.

If I keep the 1.8.4-6 release, libplibjs.so.1.8.4 can't be found because
of #425724
$ldd /usr/games/supertuxkart |grep libplibjs
libplibjs.so.1.8.4 = not found

This can be fixed by a versioned shlibs.

In debian/rules replace:
 dh_makeshlibs -a
by
 dh_makeshlibs -a -V 'plib1.8.4c2 (= 1.8.4-7)'

Maybe we should add a check in the wrapper.

if ! glxinfo | grep direct rendering: No; then
zenity --error missing direct rendering --text You're OpenGL installation
doesn't support direct rendering. If you have an NVIDIA or an ATI card you'll
probably need to install the propritary driver.

zenity --error texture is too large --text You're graphic card doesn't

This add two new dependency (mesa-utils and zenity) and we need to deal with

Bug#421566: vdrift: wrong architecture limitations in debian/control (alpha)

  Hi Gonéri,

The vdrift package is marked as only being buildable on amd64, i386, ia64,
and powerpc. This is wrong; the code builds fine on alpha, arm, and mipsel,
and is only prevented from being uploaded by this architecture list.

I see in the bug log of 400596 that a member of the security team has
offered the opinion that vdrift should not be built on arm because there's
no need for a 3d-intense game on an embedded arch, but this reasoning does
not apply to alpha and mipsel which are not embedded architectures and may
very well have suitable 3d-accelerated hardware.

Please reenable the build on alpha and mipsel. The attached patch should
  suffice.

It is highly possible that vdrift will be removed from the archive. We
recently found that it contains some non-free
parts from a commercial game. I am not sure it those parts are so critical
that a clean-up wouldn't do it, but Goneri
already requested its removal (although I raised that question and never got
 a clear answer, iirc).
All the tracks are derivated material from EA Sports. Upstream know the
problem and as soon as the release a new tarball I will package it and
will add alpha, arm, and mipsel in the arch list.

Cheers,

Gonéri

VDrift uses derivated materials that had been published without the

An unfinished list is avalaible here:

The vdrift package itself is not concerned but will become useless
without the data, that's why I added it in the list.

Who said you should set this tag? This tag is only to be used with
approval of the release team, and this is not a bug that should be ignored.
ignore means allowing the package into the release with this bug, and
 that isn't going to happen.
Thank you for this explication. I'm sorry for this. I misunderstood this tag

Bug#366343: boson-base: No longer build on amd64, shouldn't build on any 64 bit arch?

2006-05-07 Thread Gonéri Le Bouder

Kurt Roeckx wrote:

Package: boson-base
Version: 0.11-4

Hi,

Hello,

From your last changelog:

  * boson-base: architecture amd64 removed

You will need a good reason not to build it only only amd64.
Looking at #354971, it says that it crashed on amd64. And the
result also was that you don't build for amd64 anymore.

Yes Boson 0.11 crash on AMD64. The problem is fixed on upstream svn but
no patch will be backported. The problem is hard to trace and upstream
team doesn't have time to do a patch.

If you do a patch a should be glade to apply it.

I doubt this is amd64 specific. It's not because it's reported
on amd64 that other arches aren't affected as well.

It works on Sparc64. I don't have another 64bit computer so i prefere to
just remove AMD64 from the list. IMO it's a probleme with 64bit little
endian.

   Gonéri
