We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of
texmaker, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive:

I can't verify this because now I can't get texmaker to run at all.
I even downgraded to version 1.5-1 and it doesn't run either (not even
as root). I have no idea what has happened. I tried running with gdb
but there isn't any debugging info.

Here's a thought, since the error referred to guile 1.8
(ERROR: Could not find slib/require.scm in ( /usr/share/guile/site
/usr/share/guile/1.8 /usr/share/guile))
Shouldn't I have the guile-1.8-dev? This package doesn't
seem to be available.

Note: I reported this same trouble on versions 1.9.x and 2.0.x (bug #378346)

  Sorry it took so long to respond but I haven't had x-window capability

I'm going to go with your decision not to reopen #378346 and instead go
with your decision to have opened a new bug report.

What version of libgail is installed on your system?

Thomas

I have the following installed:

libgail-common1.8.11-4
libgail-dev   1.8.11-4
libgail17 1.8.11-4

Ah, helpful. I think I may know what the problem is. Can you send me
the contents of /usr/share/doc/libgail17/changelog.Debian.gz?

Actually, you didn't report it to me, and you didn't report it to the
gnucash developers; you sent something (I now see) to gnucash-user.

What happens if you start with a brand new gnucash file, instead of
your existing gnucash file (using the --nofile option)?

The results are the same

Bug#334122: Receive an Segmentation fault when launching gramps

On Sat, Oct 15, 2005 at 11:09:25AM -0700, Jim Woodruff wrote:

This is almost certainly a problem with python or the gtk/gnome bindings.
Try starting python and importing modules:
$ python

import gtk
import gnome
import gconf
import gtkspell

My results:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ python
Python 2.3.5 (#2, Aug 30 2005, 14:54:21)
[GCC 4.0.2 20050821 (prerelease) (Debian 4.0.1-6)] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 import gtk
 import gnome
 import gconf
 inport gtkspell
 import gtkspell
Segmentation fault

If the modules all imported without problems, run gdb on python and
then run gramps:
$ gdb /usr/bin/python
(gdb) run /usr/share/gramps/gramps.py

If, as I suspect, this is a problem with gtkspell, you can still use
gramps by uninstalling gtkspell.

libgtkspell0 has too many dependencies to uninstall.

But the problem has been resolved with the the latest dist-upgrade which
upgraded  python-gnome2-extras and python2.3-gnome2-extras.
So it looks like this bug report can be closed.

Thanks for your help,
Jim
