Bug#591962: Swf sources are actually the wave files
Hello there, Stefan, the upstream author, answered my email asking about swf source files. He said that, as written in the AUTHORS file, all swf files were taken from Gabber (that is GPL'ed) and partially converted. He also said that hi does not remember which tool he has used. But with a quick search through the internet, I've fount the wave2swf program that seems to be exactly what we want. The problem: It's not packaged to debian. Adding the original wav files to jwchat source is enough to close this bug? ps.: I had no time to work on the html5 version yet :( Cheers, -- Lincoln de Sousa linc...@comum.org xmpp:linc...@comum.org http://culturadigital.br http://comum.org http://minaslivre.org +55 61 8220 3940 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#591962: [Pkg-xmpp-devel] Bug#591962: jwchat: does not build .swf files from source
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 On 08/06/2010 02:44 PM, Raphael Geissert wrote: Source: jwchat Version: 1.0final-6 Severity: serious Hi, jwchat ships multiple .swf files but they are not built from source. This is a policy and licence violation (the source is not shipped.) Cheers, hello there, I didn't find the .fla files (flash sources) in the upstream repository. I think we can follow three different paths to solve this little inconvenient: * Remove .swf files in debian package and create the regression of don't play any sound. * Contact the upstream and wait for the better :) * Write a patch to use html5 Audio object instead of damned flash files. I'm including Stefan's (our great upstream author) email in this answer, let's wait for his answer about fla files but I'll try to work on the html5 patch in parallel. Bug#499761: Adoption of fcmp.
On Wed, Mar 24, 2010 at 03:48:47PM -0700, David Martínez Moreno wrote: Hello, Lincoln. I've seen that you uploaded recently a package to Debian, so it seems you're alive. I'm waiting for you to adopt fcmp, but I think it's too much time since your activity, so what I'm going to do is an upload fixing some really ugly bugs (mostly the UTF-8 coding in debian/ files) and change the maintainer to you. Please tell me if it's fine for you. I'll proceed with it next week. Best regards, Ender. -- Debian developer Hello there! It is very nice to know that you still working on freecraft and fcmp! I spent some time working on freecraft package but didn't have time to work on fcmp. It would be great if you could do this! I want to help to maintain both packages but if you want to do it too, it would be better to integrate these packages to the debian games team so we both and others can upload things when necessary and the process will not stop if one of us don't find spare time to do it. I've made so many changes in its code and it is available in the following url.
