And please try to properly upgrade all packages, I see you have a ure

you upgrade openoffice.org? Surely not with a normal dist-upgrade (that
  would have also upgraded ure)

Which BTW also would be done by trying to use -15, as some parts will
just conflict against ures older than 3.1.1-15 :-)

Hello,

after updating ure nothing helped, but upgrading other packages openoffice
depends on and reinstalling openoffice it starts now. Previously I have
upgraded by double-clicking in synaptic.

Thanks for your time, regards,
Mark

Already fixed. Clean up your rdb files if neccessary. See -15s debconf
 note.

_Description: Component registries might be corrupted
You are upgrading from a version which might have corrupted
  service/component registry files (*.rdb), especially
  /var/lib/openoffice/basis3.1/program/services.rdb and the rdb files
  in /var/spool/openoffice/uno_packages/cache for installed extensions.
  .
If you experience problems with the component manager or segmentation
 faults
involving libstore in either unopkg or OpenOffice.org, please check these
files. Try cleanly reinstalling the packages and/or using a clean user
  profile.

BTW, -14 was NOT the last update (that was -15).
Please follow the packages when you intend to report RC bus, thanks ;)
(And look at the BTS for bugs already reported, yes, even fixed ones. There
you would have seen your problem)

 Grüße/Regards,

 René

Bug#520953: gconf2: configuration is not available for root!

2009-04-24 Thread Marek Poks
i am not sure is it still problem of root and configuration at all, but
none from gnome-control-center item which needs root privilages is
working. it opens with grayed buttons, there is 'unlock' button usually
which gives after pressing a following message: 'Could not authenticate:
An unexpected error has occurred'.

i am trying to switch from lenny to squeeze once a month but this kind of
failures makes it completly UNUSABLE, so i have to revert my previously
backuped-up system.

cheers,
Mark
