Bug#928631: firmware-amd-graphics: Update to 20190502-1 causus hang of system directly after grub

2019-05-18 Thread Michael Becker
Package: firmware-amd-graphics
Followup-For: Bug #928631

Dear Maintainer,

I had the same problem after upgrading to 20190502-1. I downgraded
back to 20190502-1 and was able to normally boot into my system.
But I did not notice any spontaneous reboots so far.

The following lspci output is from after I downgraded the package.
Hope this helps in some way.

Bug#905268: at-spi2-core: key repeat causes a blocked system

2018-08-02 Thread Michael Becker

Hi Samuel,

thanks for the fast response.
Unfortunately this problem does not occur regularly but only occasionally. But if it happens, it happens for roughly
half an hour.

Will checks the Xorg logs as soon as it happens again.
Currently I don't see anything conspicuous, but it's difficult to relate
var/log/messages and var/log/Xorg.0.log

Michael

Hello,

Are you running the orca screen reader?

Michael Becker, le jeu. 02 août 2018 13:00:22 +0200, a ecrit:

if pressing the cursor up/down keys for two to three seconds the mouse cursor
starts moving and neither keyboard nor mouse input is possible

So you only press the PC keyboard up/down keys, and then the mouse
moves?

this also happens if the keyrepeat functionality is disabled in the xfce4
configuration
/var/log/messages shows the following error:

org.a11y.Bus[7817]: XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X
server ":1"
org.a11y.Bus[7817]: after 21 requests (21 known processed) with 0 events
remaining.

thus I am guessing the problem is related to at-spi2-core

Nope, it's the contrary: at-spi2-core is seeing X unresponsive and just
logs about it. Thus reassigning. You should rather look for the X server
log, in /var/log/Xorg.0.log or ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log

Bug#905268: at-spi2-core: key repeat causes a blocked system

only solution I found so far is closing the laptop lid to shutdown it and
reopening the lid
