Bug#652171: new libprocps0 package

2012-01-11 Thread Michelle Konzack
Hello Craig,

Am 2012-01-12 09:50:12, schrieb Craig Small:
 Hello,
Apologies for the rough ride around the libprocps library change.
The latest procps now has split out the shared library into its own
package. This should mean that there is less of this problem in future.
You will need to download libprocps0-dev and re-link the program to
-lprocps. There is also a pkg-config file if you need that.

I've tested it with xmem and it builds fine with 2 small changes.

In future, there will be a large API change but that will be in a new
library version package so it won't be like the programs suddenly stop
 working like before.

Thankyou for the message. I will update xmem as fast as possibel

Hello Mònica,

I know, but have some problems with my Devel-Workstation and since
Debian has changed the spamfilter rules,I can not more send ANY messages
to the BTS.

I send mail through my PUBLIC mailserver and is blocked by the Debian.
It is not funny anymore to maintain packages. I have prepered 7 packages
for now, but not more willing to continue, if Debian continue this anti
spam crap which blocks any people sending messages from a secured
intranet. Even if I own an IPv6 /64, I am not willing to give my

If I connect to a IMAP server, mutt download not only the index but the

Also it download the message if I TAG them simply...

And a third time if I mark them READ

So, to check this account I have produces a traffic of over 60 MByte !!!

This is VERY GRAVE and definitively not in the sens of IMAP!!!

The IMAP protocol is very clear and a IMAP client should only download

 Hi,

I had /bin/sh pointing to /bin/dash for several reasons. On the last
upgrade it has been overwritten with a link to /bin/bash.
IMHO this is really bad. For lenny its probably even worse, because
using dash as a new /bin/sh is a release goal. But this is impossible
with a package with priority requires that discriminates other shells
and the decisions of the local system administrator. For this reason I
consider this bug release-critical and therefore set the severity to
serious. May someone lower it if I'm wrong.

Normaly debconf ask, whether you want to install /bin/bash as /bin/sh.
Maybe you have confirmed to fast?

2007-07-09 Thread Michelle Konzack
Hello Lior,

I am the NEW maintainer of libnss-pgsql and my version 1.4.0-1 was
build against posgresql 8.1 (Sid) and libpq-dev and of course uploaded
to mentors.debian.net.

Please ask the idiot which had NMU a crappy/buggy 1.4.0-1 version into
experimental and droped MY WORKING PACKAGE!!! Since I have had a HDD
crash on Wednesday 2007-06-20 I have lost the original packages plus
modified sources I have uploaded.

Can you advice me?

And, since I have adopt the package libnss-pgsql WHY is Wichert the
maintainer even if I go to

http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=linux4michelle%40freenet.de

and it show me, that I AM THE MAINTAINER of it? Is this, because the NMU
does not close the ORPHAN/ADOPTION bug? Should I close the bug manualy?

Note: I have currently the last 4 weeks of my contract with the french
Ministry of Defense and I am working in Emerode where I have no
regulary Internet access. So I have a delay in my responses.

The package qt3-doc is definitivly NOT needed if someone installs
qcad and it should be only a RECOMMENDS for the package qt3-assistant.

Please change the Depends to Recommends for qt3-doc.

My customer has only an Internet access of V.34 in Kurdistan (Turkey
est) and it is realy annoying and cosly for him, IF there is a
securtity update for qt3 and he must download one hour a Package
which is not needed for the function of qcad of even qt3-assistant.

This BUG is for Sarge, Etch and Sid even the initial installation was
under Sarge (The Etch installer does not work on his machine a P2/366).

I have the severity set to CRITICAL since such behaviour is a

Bug#369542: security problem in ssmtp package (password exposure)

2006-12-12 Thread Michelle Konzack
According to this Bugreport, it would be better, IF
the behaviour of -v stay as it is, but preventing
the output of the base64 password IF the UID is != 0.

Otherwise a Systemadministrator can run into trouble
while debuging errors.

Bug#397534: wdm dumps user back to login screen

2006-11-17 Thread Michelle Konzack
Hello Rob and Maintainer,

fvwm95 does not support UTF-8 at all like blackbox.
It will work using the locale en_US without the .UTF-8

See the bugreport to fvwm95.

Since without UTF-8 support the WM seems to be useless, the fvwm95
Maintainer will drop it and use the package for a fvwm95 theme on fvwm2.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day

Hello Justin,

Since when? grep hasn't changed. You might check /var/log/dpkg.log.

Since Sarge...

/bin/zgrep: 103: Syntax error: Bad substitution

What shell are you using as /bin/sh ? Line 103 of zgrep is:

Bash.

   i=$(echo $i | sed -e 's/[\\|]/\\/g')

What if you replace that with:

   i=`echo $i | sed -e 's/[\\|]/\\/g'`

The same problem, because of sed. I had some scripts allready
which do not like my old RegExp. It seems, the RegExp used in
zgrep does not more work

Could you try running the script with set -x?

Yes, but it is definitivly the RegExp from sed, which does not
more work.

Bug#355724: Postgresql preinst does not respect user provided $PGDATA dir

2006-03-07 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: postgresql
Version: 7.4.7-6sarge1
Severity: critical

Error description:

I had to reinstall my Development Workstaion and the PostgreSQL
Database is located on /dev/sdb1 mounted as /PostgreSQL.

I have:

+---[ cmd 'ls -Al /PostgreSQL/' ]-
|
| total 44

| drwx-- 2 root root 16384 Oct 22 11:54 lost+found
| drwxr- 2 postgres postgres 4096 Mar 5 16:00 preserve
+-

Now since I was using Woody with a 7.4 backport (same as Sarge)
the new instalaltion should no be a problem.

After an 'apt-get install postgresql' debconf ask for the PGDATA
directory which I answered with:
 /PostgreSQL

Then they ask me for the dump directory which I answered with

/PostgreSQL/dump

and the third was the
/PostgreSQL/preserve

Now while continuing the install scripts creat /var/lib/postgres
without data directory, create the postgres $USER with the same
directory and exit with an error because it cannot find the $PGDATA
directory.

I was allready looking into the install scripts and the do some
weired stuff...

Please consider to correct those Scripts.

Fortunatly it was not a productiv Database where such things are not
allowed. I have waste to much time to correct all corresponding
config files and deleting unwanted dirctories like /var/lib/postgres.

Because on a productiv Database someone can run into unneccesary
long downtimes resolving this error, I consider this Bug as critical.

Since I run PostgreSQL 7.4 as backports on more then 53 Servers (8 own
plus 45 server at customers) on Woody, I am now fortunatly warned.

Ans last not least, one of my locale is UTF8 and debconf does only
let me chose between de_DE and C, but not UTF8.

Greetings
Michelle

by a library runtime version mismatch.

 I tried both examples on
  debian sid x86_64, mutt 1.5.10-1
  debian sarge x86, mutt 1.5.9-2
All four combinations (two mailboxes, two debian systems)
ran normally, no crashes or any other unusual behavior.
So this might not apply to debian at all.
