Bug#766359: gnome-shell: gdm shows a black screen when upgrading to 3.14.1-1
Package: gnome-shell Version: 3.14.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, I tried upgrading gnome-shell on 2 machines at my home. One is a desktop with a core 2 duo and nvidia gpu, the other one is a notebook with a core i5 and intel hd 4000. After upgrading to the current version on unstable (3.14.1-1) and restarting the computer, I was presented to a black screen. On the logs it looked like everything went ok, but I could not see anything. The only way to interact with my system was to go to tty1 and use the console from there. I tried upgrading both gdm3 packages to the current version on unstable too, but with no luck. The only thing that "fixed" the problem was when I downgraded gnome-shell back to 3.14.0-1. I didn't even had to downgrade gdm3. If you need any more information or want me to test anything, just ask and I gladly will :) -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (100, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-shell depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.22.0-1 ii evolution-data-server3.12.6-1.1 ii gir1.2-accountsservice-1.0 0.6.37-3+b1 ii gir1.2-atspi-2.0 2.14.0-1 ii gir1.2-caribou-1.0 0.4.15-1 ii gir1.2-clutter-1.0 1.20.0-1 ii gir1.2-freedesktop 1.42.0-2 ii gir1.2-gcr-3 3.14.0-2 ii gir1.2-gdesktopenums-3.0 3.14.0-1 ii gir1.2-gdm3 3.14.1-1 ii gir1.2-gkbd-3.0 3.6.0-1 ii gir1.2-glib-2.0 1.42.0-2 ii gir1.2-gnomebluetooth-1.03.14.0-1 ii gir1.2-gnomedesktop-3.0 3.14.0-1 ii gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.14.1-1 ii gir1.2-ibus-1.0 1.5.8-3 ii gir1.2-mutter-3.03.14.1-1 ii gir1.2-networkmanager-1.00.9.10.0-3 ii gir1.2-nmgtk-1.0 0.9.10.0-2 ii gir1.2-pango-1.0 1.36.8-2 ii gir1.2-polkit-1.00.105-7 ii gir1.2-soup-2.4 2.48.0-1 ii gir1.2-telepathyglib-0.120.24.1-1 ii gir1.2-telepathylogger-0.2 0.8.1-1 ii gir1.2-upowerglib-1.00.99.1-3 ii gjs 1.42.0-1 ii gnome-backgrounds3.14.0-1 ii gnome-icon-theme-symbolic3.12.0-1 ii gnome-settings-daemon3.14.0-2 ii gnome-shell-common 3.14.0-1 ii gnome-themes-standard3.14.0-1 ii gsettings-desktop-schemas3.14.0-1 ii libatk-bridge2.0-0 2.14.0-2 ii libatk1.0-0 2.14.0-1 ii libc62.19-11 ii libcairo21.12.16-5 ii libcanberra-gtk3-0 0.30-2.1 ii libcanberra0 0.30-2.1 ii libclutter-1.0-0 1.20.0-1 ii libcogl-pango20 1.18.2-2 ii libcogl201.18.2-2 ii libcroco30.6.8-3 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.102-1 ii libecal-1.2-16 3.12.6-1.1 ii libedataserver-1.2-183.12.6-1.1 ii libgcr-base-3-1 3.14.0-2 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.31.1-2+b1 ii libgirepository-1.0-11.42.0-2 ii libgjs0e [libgjs0-libmozjs-24-0] 1.42.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.0-2 ii libgstreamer1.0-01.4.3-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.14.1-1 ii libical1 1.0-1 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 1.0.2-1 ii libmozjs-24-024.2.0-2 ii libmutter0e 3.14.0-1 ii libnm-glib4 0.9.10.0-3 ii libnm-util2 0.9.10.0-3 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.8-2 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.36.8-2 ii libpolkit-agent-1-0 0.105-7 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-00.105-7 ii libpulse-mainloop-glib0 5.0-13 ii libpulse05

Bug#751082: nvidia removed after xserver 1.16 migration
Hi, nvidia driver was removed today after the update to 1.16 on xserver today and I can't install it (tried both unstable and experimental versions). The only way to do that would probably be by downgrading the xserver packages. Also, since the dkms package was not removed, the nouveau driver was still blacklisted so after a reboot, X didn't start and I had to fix everything from the console (not really a problem for me, but probably a really annoying problem for the majority of users) Please set a high priority on this one since it will for sure affect a lot of users using this driver. -- Thiago Bellini Ribeiro http://hackedbellini.org PGP: D70FD60E “Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.” - Confucius -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#727172:
Never mind about the issue. After trying to install the broken dependencies, I found that the problem is that libopus0 is missing multi-arch support, an that issue is being *exhaustedly* discussed here [1]. So, fell free to mark this as invalid :) http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=674467 -- Thiago Bellini Ribeiro http://hackedbellini.org “Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.” - Confucius -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#727172: libasound2-plugins: Unable to install libasound2-plugins on amd64 using i386 multiarch on jessie/sid
Package: libasound2-plugins Version: 1.0.27-2+b1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable It's not possible to install libasound2-plugins:i386, making i386 applications break sound output (due to the lack of pulseaudio plugin). For example, trying to game on wine while listening to sound will not work (if the sound starts first, the game doesn't output sound. If the game starts first, the music doesn't output sound). This is what I get trying to install it: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libasound2-plugins:i386 : Depends: libavcodec54:i386 (>= 6:9.1-1) but it is not going to be installed or libavcodec-extra-54:i386 (>= 6:9.8) but it is not going to be installed Depends: libjack-jackd2-0:i386 (>= 1.9.5~dfsg-14) but it is not going to be installed or libjack-0.116:i386 E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
