If I had enough knowledge in python/django, I would!

But washing your hands and say "fix it yourself if having
a completely broken package in Debian GNU/Linux" is RUDE,
at best!

We are Debian GNU/Linux! Our standards should be higher than
that!

Bug#832338: Also affects latest Sid - 3:9.0.1-2

2016-08-23 Thread Turbo Fredriksson
Please don't leave the package in this horrible, broken state!

You need to package an older version to replace this if you can't
get it to work. Granted, Sid is 'unstable', but that does NOT mean
that it's the same as 'completely broken'. That's what 'testing' is
for!

Waiting weeks (months?) for a working dashboard simply isn't acceptable!!

Eh, no It's 2 in one place, and a 3 in the other...
There's TWO (NOTE1 _and_ NOTE2) places in the file where
'$mvcmd' is used (se the lines starting with plus and minus).

Bug#412971: debarchiver: Breaks uploads

2007-03-01 Thread Turbo Fredriksson
Package: debarchiver
Version: 0.1.8
Severity: grave
Tag: patch, sarge, sid, etch

When running debarchiver on my incoming, it
installed SOME DEB's, didn't install the
orig.tar.gz file but removed instead...

In general, it messed up my 'whole' archive
(I was moving from a manually managed archive
to one controlled with debarchiver) and I had
to re-upload (and in some cases re-build)
packages (my original repository was aparently
broken to so not ALL blame goes to debarchive,
but it did a bigger mess than manually handling
this - and much faster to :).

The bug comes from a misspelling of a variable
'$movecmd' visavi (two places) '$mvcmd'.

Bug#386442: Solving... ?

2006-10-17 Thread Turbo Fredriksson
I'm trying to solve this now (sorry, but I've been extreamly
busy with personal life).

But I'm not quite sure HOW to...

Is it correct to understand that if the password question hasn't
been asked AND the password is NULL/empty THEN the postinst script
should 'exit 1'?

Are you happy with just removing these files as conffiles (i.e., keeping
them in the package)? Or do you 'require' them to be removed (and created
with a SQL script at (pre)install time)?

Since I'm both the upstream and Debian GNU/Linux maintainer, I'd
very much like to fix this.

What do I need to do? I can understand 'cross site scripting' and
why it should be a security problem...

I don't _execute_ anything... ?!? Please advice.

Maybe the latest libnss-ldap is more picky about exit/return codes OR
messages produced by the shell?

I know that I have problems with ssh/scp if I have a verbose .bashrc!
If my .bashrc is outputting text, and i try to scp a file to that machine
(with the verbose .bashrc), then the scp will fail! Disabling the output,
and all is well...

Maybe something similar with the latest libnss-ldap? Just an idea...

Bug#376426: libnss-ldap: Can't login even as local user

2006-07-04 Thread Turbo Fredriksson
Just wanted to put in some lines about this...

I've successfully installed 'this' package (actually a recompile for
my semi-woody) and it works 'just fine'.

I run only IPv4, my nsswitch.conf say 'files ldap', not 'compat ldap'.
Oh, and as said, it's on a semi-woody (all LDAPv3 stuff, Cyrus SASL,
MIT Kerberos V, OpenAFS 1.4, OpenLDAP 2.2, lib{nss,pam}-{ldap,krb,openafs}
etc) come from sid/testing, all other packages are from woody.

The only change to the package to get it compiling on my semi-woody was
to lower the build depends on debhelper (from 4.1.13 to 4.0.2).

Although this won't help much for those running sid/testing with this
package, I CAN say that there's nothing wrong with the _software_ in
the package... That not saying there isn't something wrong with the
_package_ (linking problems, compile problems etc?)...

These looks more like a problem with zsh. Did zsh get upgraded as well/with
libnss-ldap?

For both of you (having problem)?

I've seen this before, when I've messed up my .bashrc and/or .bash_login
(the corresponding files for bash which I use). I couldn't login, but
all errors indicated that it was lib{nss,pam}-ldap that was at fault...

I recommend 'removing' these two files and try again...
