Yeah, sorry for the delay (again). The patch looks perfect.

Thanks,

Please, fix this bug ASAP, because it's grave, but trivial to fix (either by
 maintainer or NMU).

I've had a fix for this ready for several days now, but literally as I
switched to my IRC window to ping my sponsor, I noticed that there had
been an NMU. I got the initial bug report mail six hours *after* the NMU
happened, and since then I honestly have not had the time to rebase my
changes off the NMU. I would have more than enough time to fix it this
weekend, but in 10 hours I have to leave town for four days, away from
all my Debian systems. I'm sorry for both my lack of time and the bad
timing of all this, and if four days is too long to wait I suggest that
someone NMU. Thanks in advance to anyone that has the time. If it hasn't
been fixed by the time I get back, I will do it myself first thing.

Cheers,
Zack

Bug#322961: kaffeine-mozilla: jri*.h use All rights reserved copyright boilerplate and have no other license info

2005-08-14 Thread Zack Cerza
On 2005 August 13 Saturday 19:04, Steve Langasek wrote:
So are you filing this bug because Netscape isn't mentioned in the
copyright file, or because you actually believe we don't have a proper
license to them? There are equivalently named files in the mozilla source
and the mozilla-dev package, so I would be surprised if these files haven't
in fact been relicensed under the GPL. In that case, the copyright file
includes the correct license, it just doesn't include a complete list of
copyright holders, and that's not really an RC bug.

This issue was discovered during package checks by my AM. I've brought it up
with upstream, and their response consisted of the exact same files exist in
kdebase/nsplugins - so I went to KDE upstream with the same issue, and got a
single response_. So, no communication I've initiated has convinced me that
we have (or anyone has) a license to distribute the files in question. That
said, I could certainly be wrong and be asking the wrong people. I sincerely
hope so.

.. _response: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-develm=112314862006216w=2

I filed the bug, at his request, to document our findings and prepare for the
possibility that the package would have to be removed from the archive. In
case this is all a misunderstanding, though, the copyright file still does
need to be updated.

Thanks,
Zack

Bug#322961: kaffeine-mozilla: jri*.h use All rights reserved copyright boilerplate and have no other license info

2005-08-13 Thread Zack Cerza
Package: kaffeine-mozilla
Version: 0.4.3.1-4
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.3

The files src/jri*.h state that their copyright is held by Netscape
Communications Corporation. There is no additional license information in
those files.

Also, the files src/np*.[ch] contain no copyright information (though it
is likely that Netscape holds their copyright as well). There is no
license information in those files either.

Bug#296609: confirmed for sid

2005-06-05 Thread Zack Cerza
I've seen this problem on sid, as recent as... right now. gamin seems to fix
the problem, but apparently it was removed from sarge because of bug #294058.

Bug#292897: alsa-base: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2005-01-30 Thread Zack Cerza
Package: alsa-base
Version: 1.0.8-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

alsa-base has been giving me the following error message since at least 1.0.7-2:

Setting up alsa-base (1.0.8-3) ...
dpkg: error processing alsa-base (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 alsa-base
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Ack! Something bad happened while installing packages. Trying to recover:
Setting up alsa-base (1.0.8-3) ...
dpkg: error processing alsa-base (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 alsa-base

Since I already had a working ALSA setup, my sound still works. I imagine this
would make the package unusable for me otherwise. Since I'm not sure if this
has anything to do with any experimental packages I have installed, I won't tag
this as sarge even though the version currently in sarge gave me the same
problem.
