I cannot and should not touch the configuration files of OOo, this is in 
the Debian policy, the files that need to be patched are not even in 
/etc so they will be replaced on an upgrade/reinstall and I will not 
have a chance to fix them again.

The real fix is to put the changes needed into the OOo package.
You are more than welcome asking the Debian OOo folks to adopt this fix.

Does this bug apply to new installs of culmus, or only to upgrades?  If it
doesn't affect new installs, then it should not be RC since there is no
previous stable version of culmus.
