 $ dpkg --compare-versions 0.3.0-9.1 lt 0.3.0-test2-1  echo not superseded
 not superseded

0.3.0-test2 is a new upstream version relative to the version in unstable.

Yet the BTS can handle this by parsing the changelog instead of doing
  dpkg version comparison, see #333822.

I think the correct action is to close this bug, and ask ftpmaster for
removal of the binaries (which I'll be doing next).

  Cheers,

Bug#272004:

2006-01-23 Thread Regis Boudin
Hi,

Looking at the changelog and versions history, it looks like libtunepimp
0.3.0-test2-1 was actually a mis-numbered pre-0.3.0 snapshot, which was
expected to be superseded by 0.3.0-1.

Therefore, I suggest to remove the version from experimental and close
this bug.

HTH,
Regis

This is a very old bug, and it applies to a version in experimental which has
been superseded by the version in unstable, and the version in unstable build
just fine.

So why is this bug open?

Reply to bug trail please.
