Please set the mkinitrd.conf MODULES value to dep, at least on powerpc. ON
powerpc, we have at least three subarches (pegasos 1, prep and some oldworlds)
which have troubles with either bigger initrd images (bigger than 1.5MB
compressed on pegasos 1), or bigger kernel+initrd images (bigger than 4MB for
both on prep and/or some oldworlds). A initrd created with MODULES=most on a
prep box seems to yield a 5MB (compressed) initrd, while setting it to
MODULES=dep results in a 1.5MB (compressed) initrd, which should be mostly ok
on all those subarches. The bug is marked severity important, but i feel that
it should probably be limit on RC-severity, since it results in a unbootable
machine post d-i install.

Would be nice if all those useless ide drivers and filesystems could be
removed from the initrd, in favor of keeping only the filesystem and disk
driver modules on which root resides.

Hi,

as just discussed on IRC with Sven Luther and others, this bug doesn't
exist anymore also in the current version, so marking as done now.

Cheers,
Andi
