Bug#310767: eggdrop: Eggdrop causes an Oops in kernel

2005-05-25 Thread Manuel Marchese
Package: eggdrop
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

After a few days of quiet running my eggdrop caused an Oops in kernel:

Bug#310767: eggdrop: Eggdrop causes an Oops in kernel

2005-05-25 Thread Roger Leigh
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

For each of the oopses, please run them through ksymoops in order to
get a full report of the problem. You need to do this with the same
kernel/System.map, preferably as soon as possible before rebooting.

There are a number of oopses in different processes. It's not clear
the fault likes with this package.

Regards,
Roger

A kernel oops is always, first and foremost, a kernel bug.

Please provide the ksymoops information that Roger requested. I notice that
the uname listed for this system is 2.4.27-manuel, which is not a Debian
kernel. Did you build it based on Debian kernel sources?

One of these failures was in kswapd. Have you checked for the possibility
of disk failure?

Thanks,
