Bug#312115: Downgrading

thanks

Hi,

there's no activity on this bug for about 15 months, and I think the
problem was the test program of Markus Kolb. Because he did now answer
anymore I think this bug is not "so important" and i downgrade it to
"normal", because I think this is _NOT_ release-critical.

Regards

Bug#312115: Downgrading

2007-01-28 Thread Thomas Goirand
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi!

I'd like to add to this that I am the maintainer of libapache-mod-sql
that depends on libdbi0 and needs libdbi-dev to build. libapache-mod-sql
produces libapache-mod-sql-dbi and libapache2-mod-sql-dbi. This is
currently in SID.

To me, it's very important that libdbi is in Etch, and I don't really
understand why it's been 1 year and a half nobody is working on that issue.

Note that I have never used myself libdbi, I could remove the dependency
from libapache-mod-log-sql and don't use it, but I think it's a shame
it's left behind.

Just wanted to let you know.

Thomas Goirand

P.S: Why Markus Kolb don't sends his testing app like requested?

Er, why is it a shame if it's left behind, if no one has reported a single
case of using this library in production? You admit to not using it either,
so do you even know if libapache-mod-log-sql-dbi works? According to
popcon, although there are some users that have libdbd drivers installed,
none of them report actively using them.

Bug#312115: Downgrading

2007-05-17 Thread Jeremy Malcolm

Hi,

FWIW, I use libdbi with RefDB (http://refdb.sourceforge.net). I would
like to see both of them in Debian. I'm happy to package RefDB, but of
course that depends on libdbi being there.

How about if you (David) or me ([EMAIL PROTECTED], if you let me do an
NMU or make me co-maintainer) package version of 0.8.1 which fixes many
problems including, probably, the one from this bug report?

In fact there already is a Debian package for 0.8.1:
http://libdbi.sourceforge.net/debian/pool/l/libdbi0/libdbi0_0.8.1-3_i386.deb.
So maybe there is not much work to do here at all.

Thanks.

2007-05-17 Thread David Parker
Jeremy,

That sounds great. I will look at the existing bugs and 0.8.1 packaging
this weekend and get you set up as a co-maintainer. I'll email you in a
few days and we can go from there.

thanks,
David
