*IIRC* I also reinstalled pam-opensc and it then worked. but not sure
anymore.
hrm if it worked with pam-opensc afterwards, then it's definitely
not the card's fault. can you test it again with pam-opensc just to
make sure? what kind of smartcard are you using? is there any way
that i can help you debug this further?
