I cannot reproduce the problem with 4.3.90.1-2.

Thanks for reporting and thanks for rechecking!

Yours sincerely,

2006-06-20 Thread Alexander Schmehl
Hi Simon! Hi Wolfgang!

* Simon Huggins [EMAIL PROTECTED] [060530 23:49]:

None of us have seen this behaviour in 4.2.3.2 though and we've not seen
 other reports.

I'm able to reproduce this bug on my iBook with:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l|grep xfce4-mixer
ii xfce4-mixer 4.2.3-2 Xfce4
Mixer frontend
ii xfce4-mixer-alsa 4.2.3-2 Xfce4
Mixer ALSA backend

Interesting: I configured my panel to include the mixe plugin while
starting, and everything seemed to work fine. the panel started up, it
showed the plugin, clicking on the icon opened the mixer.

However when I removed the mixer from the panel and tried to add it
back, the panel crashed, as Wolfang described it. Strace output looks
similar to his.

However: I'm unable to reproduce this bug on my workstation (which uses
386 architecture and the 4.3.90.1-2 packages).

Wolfgang, could you please try to upgrade to the new packages and
report, if you can still reproduce the bug with the 4.3x packages?

Yours sincerely,
  Alexander

In fact as I'm closing this, you can reopen it for 4.3.90.1 if you find
it there but I'm happy to accept Alexander's report that this is no
 longer a bug.

Just to complete my report for the log:
I upgraded the machine, where I could reproduce the bug to 4.3.90.1-2
and couldn't reproduce the bug any more. So I proposed to close the
bug.

Yours sincerely,
  Alexander

Firstly, I'm really sorry that you filed this bug 52 days ago. One of
the problems with using a list as a Maintainer is that this got held for
moderation (I assume or rejected out right) because of the size of the
attachments. And the list admin is AWOL and hasn't been doing work on
xfce for a while. Sorry, we'll get this sorted out.

None of us have seen this behaviour in 4.2.3.2 though and we've not seen
other reports.

Does alsa work correctly on your system? e.g. can you try alsamixer?

Simon.
