Bug#399238: otrs2: Apache::Constants not found during startup of Apache2
Hi, On 11/19/06, Arkadiusz Stanoszek - CORE [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: As you wrote in bug tracking system libapache2-mod-perl2 is not really needed, so I wait for otrs2 package with that dependency removed to be published (it is not available now). that won't happen soon but you can build your own package without this dependency (that's easy). Currently I want to support etch systems and partial upgrades from sarge to etch. Since you refuse to upgrade apache I cannot really help you here. Bug#399238: otrs2: Apache::Constants not found during startup of Apache2
Package: otrs2 Version: 2.0.4p01-16 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable To finish configuration of the package I commented out the apache2 restart line in postconf. Now, Apache2 does not start. When I try to start it I get following messages in errorlog: [Sat Nov 18 15:03:27 2006] [error] Can't locate loadable object for module Apach e::Constants in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/share/otrs/Kernel/cpan-lib /usr/share/ otrs/ /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.4 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/p erl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_ perl . /etc/apache2) at /usr/lib/perl5/mod_perl.pm line 14\nCompilation failed i n require at /usr/lib/perl5/Apache.pm line 6.\nBEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/lib/perl5/Apache.pm line 6.\nCompilation failed in require at /usr/shar e/perl/5.8/CGI.pm line 190.\nCompilation failed in require at /usr/share/otrs/sc ripts/apache2-perl-startup.pl line 18.\nBEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /us r/share/otrs/scripts/apache2-perl-startup.pl line 18.\nCompilation failed in req uire at (eval 2) line 1.\n [Sat Nov 18 15:03:27 2006] [error] Can't load Perl file: /usr/share/otrs/scripts /apache2-perl-startup.pl for server [name of my server]:0, exiting... -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-1-686 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Versions of packages otrs2 depends on: ii adduser 3.63 Add and remove users and groups ii apache2 2.0.54-5sarge1 next generation, scalable, extenda ii apache2-mpm-prefork [apac 2.0.54-5sarge1 traditional model for Apache2 ii dbconfig-common 1.8.27 common framework for packaging dat ii debconf 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii libapache2-mod-perl2 1.999.21-1 Integration of perl with the Apach ii libauthen-sasl-perl 2.10-1 Authen::SASL - SASL Authentication ii libdate-pcalc-perl1.2-2 Perl module for Gregorian calendar ii libdbi-perl 1.46-6 Perl5 database interface by Tim Bu ii libemail-valid-perl 0.15-1 Check validity of Internet email a ii libio-stringy-perl2.110-1Perl5 modules for IO from scalars ii libmailtools-perl 1.62-1 Manipulate email in perl programs ii libmime-perl 5.417-1Perl5 modules for MIME-compliant m ii perl 5.8.4-8sarge5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii ucf 1.17 Update Configuration File: preserv -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. IMHO the versioned depends, conflicts, ... should be in libapache2-mod-perl2, perl, apache2 or whatever packages do really conflict (*). OTRS just uses libapache2-mod-perl2 as a perl interpreter embedded into apache2 if it is available and does not use it if it is not available. It does not use any special features of it. OTRS even works with libapache-mod-perl and apache (version 1). Regards, Torsten (*) In this case we have a mixture of sarge and backports from sid which makes debugging more difficult. -- blog: http://twerner.blogspot.com/ homepage: http://www.twerner42.de/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
