Bug#400720: mozilla-plugin-vlc: vlc plugin broken: (no video)

Reducing the changeset to a size that is ok during code freeze - perhaps you could draft such a package? Or give the submitter more detailed informations how he could continue? VLC 0.8.6 is just out and though the changeset with 0.8.5 is huge, it's not that big when compared to the version currently in testing (SVN snapshot from 2 months ago). I've been working on splitting the diff into patches that can reasonably be put in Etch and others that are not really needed for the last few days, but it's too tightly interleaved and I need more time. The changes of 2 months are quite large - I'm not too optimistic we can get them into etch unless we get the patches really soon now. Also, this release critical bug is now open for quite some time - we really need to fix it soon. So you can check if it works with a build from nightlies.videolan.org or give us dome url which use to work and not longer does so i can check. I tried vlc/vlc-nox/mozilla-plugin-vlc _0.9.0-svn20061212-0-0 and it works for me. Regards, Thomas

Removing mozilla-plugin-vlc from the package for Etch. 3. Removing the package alltogether. (order is preference, at least by me) Unfortunatly, at least I am not able to work on 1. due to time constraints, so in case nobody else has time to fix it, I would work on 2. (I however would have time to upload a isolated fix - or other small items where a DD could help.) I have this problem approximately for a month now (after an vlc update but I am not shure which version change it was) with firefox 1.5.0.7 and the actual iceweasel and also with no plugins installed.
