Bug#484609: pptp-linux: Disconnects immediately after connection
Hi Really good to know. I think I will revert to the old version until this issue has been solved. Unless you have a direct suggestion for solution. I can not see the reason with the below logs. The warning below seems to be quite usual and in normal cases they are seen and it works. But if you can locate the problem I'm very interested in knowing! Please send me the configuration you use and if possible more extensive logging. Bug#484609: pptp-linux: Disconnects immediately after connection
Hi James I have recently upgraded the Debian package to 1.7.2. However one user got this problem. This means that I likely will downgrade the version, unless you can help me with the solution for this problem. Bug#484609: pptp-linux: Disconnects immediately after connection
Hi I actually found that the problem was caused by faulty scripts from my ISP which stopped working with the new version of pptp-linux. As soon as I adjusted the configuration as it's suggested here: http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/howto-debian.phtml#configure_by_hand everything restarted working. But these scrips still work fine with the older versions of pptp. If you want to, I could send them to you for investigation. So there is no need to downgrade the package and I think the bug can be closed. I should have investigated the problem deeply before filling the bugreport. Sorry for that. Bug#484609: pptp-linux: Disconnects immediately after connection
G'day Ola, Thanks for the problem report. I'm happy to assist. The log from Andrej shows a termination of pppd via SIGTERM, which might have been triggered by pptp ... but as Andrej found out later, scripts were the cause. I'm also interested in knowing how the scripts did it. Why did it used to work? I've reviewed the code changes from 1.7.0 to 1.7.2 and the best I can find is the older version mishandling of the return value from select(2), or the removal of the sigset in util.c. Also, I wonder if pppd changed. There has been much discussion of pppd's curious kill all processes in the process group behaviour. -- James Cameron http://quozl.netrek.org/ HP Open Source, Volunteer http://opensource.hp.com/ PPTP Client Project, Release Engineer http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
