Ok here, as I stated before I think that are two different bugs :)

I have written in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=540506#38 =>

Hello,

I do not think that the submitter is wrong with his bug.

I updated to 0.5.13-2 and my complete wlan was broken, the LED does not
show up any activity, the module wasn't loaded (sometimes), network
manager could not find the device, sometimes also iwconfig does not show
it up.

Then after some modprobe -r and modprobe iwconfig list my wlan device
but it does not work.

Now I just downgraded hal to 0.5.12~git20090406.46dc48-2 and everything
was working like before.

I am using the debian 2.6.30-1 i386 Kernel.

The submitter reported, that only his n-m does not work anymore, what is
also the case here, but also iwconfig does not report mostly the device,
sometimes it does, but then n-m is still not able to to use it (it does
not show it up at all anymore).

Downgrading solves the problem at all.

I hope you are ok with setting the severity to grave, atm it is grave
for me, because I can not use my laptop in my multi wireless lan
environments.
