Bug#563437: Uninstallable: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/php/doc', which is also in package php-pear
Package: php5-symfony1.0 Version: 1.0.21-1.1 Severity: grave Justification: makes package uninstallable Hi, When I try to install the package, it tries to overwrite a symlink that is shipped by 'php-pear', namely /usr/share/php/doc: The following NEW packages will be installed: php5-symfony1.0 0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Bug#563437: Uninstallable: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/php/doc', which is also in package php-pear
reassign 563437 php-pear thanks I've just looked into this, and the reason that it's failing is that /usr/share/php/doc is a symlink to /usr/share/doc/php-pear/PEAR /usr/share/doc/php-pear is a symlink to /usr/share/doc/php5-common, which doesn't include a PEAR directory. If the symlinks were correct, this would install correctly (as the package is built to use the PEAR documentation directory (as gleaned from pear config-get doc_dir)) Reassigning this to the correct package.
