I was hit by the same issue and found this discussion in an Ubuntu forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1366119 Following NicoDietrich's advice in the discussion, I deleted just one line "Holidays=us" from ~/.kde/share/config/korganizerrc , and the problem was gone.
