Bug#623523: breaks when /run is used
Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. Turns out my problem was caused by removing isc-dhcp-client at 5am one morning while drunk. But reverting all my changes I did, I applied this update and can confirm that a symlink from /etc/network/run was indeed made to /run/network as suggested by Jörg-Volker Peetz. thanks MikeJJ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Hello, Is this bug still present with the latest 0.7~alpha4? -- WBR, Andrew signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Bug#623523: breaks when /run is used
Package: ifupdown Version: 0.6.4-4.9 Severity: critical /etc/network/run/ in some cases is a symlink to /dev/shm/network/, but when /dev/shm/ is a symlink to /run/shm/ the directory is created at the wrong time of the boot process and /etc/init.d/networking fails to bring up the interfaces. The init scripts need to be rearranged (and please move /etc/init.d/networking from netbase to ifupdown in the process!) and ifupdown should depend on the new initscripts package with /run support to allow cleaning up some cruft. -- ciao, Marco signature.asc Description: Digital signature
