Thanks, I just used wget/dpkg -i and it seems to be working fine
now. Closing for now, will let you know if more troubles happen.

I think I also have issues within stable, I'll try and check that when
I find some time. Might be worth fixing there too if that's the same
kind of bugs (usecase: unstable chroots pointing to a stable approx).

It's now in unstable, so when you get a chance please let me know if
this fixes the problem.

that looks likely.

Alright, will do that next week; right now it's hash sum mismatch
time, and the weekend's calling.

I'll give it a shot next week as well.

I believe this is due to the recent introduction of InRelease files
(combination of Release + Release.gpg) in sid and wheezy.

But just to be sure, please turn on $debug in your approx.conf file,
and send me the log of an "apt-get update" against your approx server.

I have a new version that handles InRelease files, but its upload is
waiting for the transition to OCaml 3.12 to finish. If you'd like to
try it in the meantime, I can send you a .deb (or you can build it
from its git repo using git-buildpackage).

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bug#624546: approx: Fails to notice mirror updates

2011-04-29 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: approx
Version: 4.5-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

running apt-get update today led to no upgradable packages on this sid
amd64 box, which is a bit surprising. Switching sources.list from
localhost: to the mirror pointed to in the approx configuration
showed 34 upgradable packages. Switching back to localhost: make
those disappear.

Please let me know what you need to debug this.

Mraw,
KiBi.
