Sorry to say, the bug, or the symptom at least, has surfaced again
after upgrading jessie to stretch. Following a request for printing,
this message appears with absence of hardcopy output.
File "/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertogutenprint.5.2" not available: ...

The file is available of course.

Indeed. The installation of common files was broken in the 
5.2.10~pre2-1. I have a fix pending which I'll upload very soon.
