Bug#749698: libmusicbrainz5 / bug 749698

2014-11-11 Thread Daniel Pocock

Hi Andy, Timo,

This is a release critical bug:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=749698

Do you know if it is completely fixed upstream?

Is this version of libmusicbrainz5 suitable for the jessie release or
are you aware of any other potential RC bugs that should also be
corrected at the same time?

Regards,

Daniel

There is a pull request waiting to be merged at
https://github.com/metabrainz/libmusicbrainz/pull/4

Unfortunately a proper fix for this issue needs a SONAME bump since the
offending XML code is exposed via constructors to the public ABI.

Cheers

There is a pull request available for upstream. I haven't got round to
adding it because it needs an SOVERSION bump, so should probably make
this libmb5.1.0 to reflect this.

Comments appreciated.

Andy

Thanks for the feedback. I notified the release team about this on
#debian-release

In theory, library transitions should have been completed before the
freeze but they will look at the implications of this issue and
potential solutions.
