Bug#756205: gvfs-daemons: gvfsd-metadata continuously does disk accesses

2014-09-19 Thread Vlad Orlov
tags 756205 patch
thanks

Since it's not known when gvfs 1.20.4 (and 1.22) will be released,
I've decided to convert the upstream commit [1] into debdiff which
can be applied to gvfs 1.20.3-1.

Before that, I've tested the behavior of gvfsd-metadata as suggested
by gvfs developer in [2]. The patch indeed fixes the issue.

The debdiff is in the attachment.

Hope to see it accepted soon. Thanks in advance.

Bug#756205: gvfs-daemons: gvfsd-metadata continuously does disk accesses

2014-09-28 Thread Andreas Henriksson
Hello Vincent Lefevre!

Could you (or anyone else able to reproduce this issue) please
report back what the current status is (with the version
in unstable)?

The issue is supposedly solved. If I don't hear either way
I guess I'll just believe that. Would be preferable if
someone would give explicit acknowledgement of the status.

Regards,
Andreas Henriksson

At the end of August, I could reproduce the problem with

  http://rossl.org/junk/meta.html

See: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637095#c48

I've just tried again with gvfs-daemons 1.22.0-1 installed, and the
problem no longer occurs. So, the bug seems to be fixed, at least
in gvfs-daemons 1.22.0-1.
