around the beginning of the July newer version of fglrx showed up -
15.5. i hope it solves X's ABI compatibility issue (this blocks far too
many updates already...).

even if it does not, it would be worth packaging any way - just to have
an up to date driver installed.

According to the release notes it still only supports up to 1.16

So this didn't look urgent ... and I need to look into the xvba stuff,
that will require some changes.

For the time being I downgraded to 1.16 since I cannot get the radeon
driver to *not* use xinerama or mergedfb...
